term commitment to the PTA.
Throughout the academic year, the PTA organised events that brought together parents, teachers, and students, strengthening the bonds within the AGS community. These events provided
A recap of the year….
Autumn Term
£1,700 for the school.
Spring Term
in previous years, the event remains one of the PTA's pillar events, showcasing the school community's strengths. The lively atmosphere likely resulted in a few sore heads the following morning, and the event raised an impressive £1,800, a testament to the tremendous efforts of Alex, Chrissie, and everyone who contributed to its success.
Another event was the Year 7 parents' welcome event. This year, Helena, a new volunteer parent, organised Beetle Drive. The event was well-aended, and the feedback from new parents was overwhelmingly posive. Helena's efforts in pung together this event deserve special recognion.
The Year 7 Disco and addional bar events further enriched the PTA's calendar, keeping many volunteer parents acvely involved. These events raised funds and fostered a sense of community and engagement within the AGS family.
Summer Term
This year, the PTA successfully organised another memorable Summer Fete. Although the event had to operate under the wet-weather plan, the team's steely grit and determinaon resulted in an incredible amount of money raised for the school.
remains one of the PTA's stellar events, showcasing the school community's strengths and fostering a sense of togetherness.
Our treasurer, Colin, will provide more details on the money raised later. However, a huge thank you is owed to Sarah, everyone involved in organising the Summer Fete, and the enre PTA parent volunteer community for their strong support and parcipaon, which made this event a resounding success despite the weather challenges.
Thank Yous
As we reach the end of another successful year for the Aylesbury Grammar School (AGS) ParentTeacher Associaon (PTA), we would like to express our sincere gratude to all who have contributed to our accomplishments. Your unwavering dedicaon and support have been invaluable to the core team, event leaders, and the new volunteer parents.
However, this also marks a poignant moment as we always must bid farewell to a few who are naturally coming to the end of their son’s involvement in the school. This year is parcularly challenging, as those who have been the bedrock of our commiee for many years, working relessly behind the scenes to ensure our success, will be leaving us.
This year, we extend our most profound appreciaon to Sarah, Alex, and Colin, whose exceponal contribuons have significantly driven the PTA's success. Your commitment, dedicaon, and impact on the AGS community will be missed.
The foundaon they have laid and the example they have set will serve as a guiding light for those who follow in their footsteps.
Your contribuons have le an indelible mark on the AGS community!
Closing remarks
The PTA has had a remarkable year. The funds raised will go towards the EB4 refurbishment and the purchase of addional Table tennis tables.
While the current core team remains small, we have had another year in which we have punched well above our weight, as evidenced by the fantasc amount of money raised. However, the PTA recognises the need to finalise several vital internal roles; work will be done over the summer to finalise them. These roles will be adversed on the school page and Classist to aract new volunteer
parents who will hopefully bring the much-needed fresh input in terms of new ideas & energy that
commitment to the PTA's mission.
to "shoot for the stars," the upcoming academic year promises to be even more successful and rewarding.
Have a wonderful summer with your families, and may the PTA return refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.
