2. TRUSTEE REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2022
A. AIM, PURPOSE & OTHER GOVERNANCE ISSUES
i) Background & History
Back in 1995, soon after Mr and Mrs Hunt had responded to the call of God on their lives to teach and preach the Word of God as well as to sing it (both are vocal musicians and Mrs Hunt is a fully qualified keyboard player too) a name was necessary for communication and advertisement, and, very quickly, the Lord gave them “Sounds of Life” as they were both involved with singing and speaking the Word of God to the people. Now, of course, it also involves the written word as well! (See below.)
Since those days, it was necessary to become a Charitable Trust which was added in 2001, as stated on Page 2. This was required because of the obvious improvement in finances this would provide through the Gift Aid Payment each year.
ii) Aims & Objectives from the Trust Deed
a) To advance the Christian faith both in the UK and in foreign countries (“the area of benefit”) by evangelism of all kinds, using mobile evangelism teams to tour every city, town and village, bringing the Gospel to all people, by all means, including literature, one-to-one discussions, preaching, teaching, singing, dance, mime, counselling and prayer, through, for example, open-air work, visits to prisons and all organisations open to hearing the Gospel.
b) To further advance the Christian faith by giving new converts to Christianity Bible-based teaching materials, one type for adults, another for children and young people.
(Note should be made that at the Trustees’ Management Committee meeting on 19[th] November 2017, an attempt was made to amend these Aims and Objectives to bring them up to date, deemed by the Charity Commission as not required in their email dated 17[th] April 2018, a copy of which is kept on file.)
iii) Other Important Governance Issues
1. Risk Management :-
The trustees recognise the responsibility they have to identify, assess and manage risks. The trustee board identifies risks as business is conducted at their management meetings. The principal risks to the charity are the potential fall in income due to an ageing and decreasing supporter base, the reliability of mission partners abroad and the safety of staff when working overseas.
The type of work we carry out means that the Trust is not subject to the vagaries of statutory funding. The scope of the work could be reduced if income fell. The supporter base has a high proportion of retired people. The re-launch of the website, the availability of a linked Facebook page and the use of internet-based fundraising such as JustGiving and Stewardship.org.uk will hopefully make the work of the Trust accessible to younger potential supporters, although nothing has been seen on this front so far, this after a lot of work carried out by the Chairman.
Potential mission partners who live abroad and who wish to be supported or to host a mission trip are asked to complete an application form. References are taken up to validate the application. Each application is discussed and approved at trustee board level.
For every proposed ministry trip abroad a comprehensive risk assessment process is undergone and the findings documented. This is an active document and is updated regularly until departure date. It includes Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advice, the vetting of mission hosts and accommodation and travel arrangements. All documentation is considered by the trustee board at their management meetings and no overseas trip goes ahead unless the board approves it unanimously.
The Trust has given its permission for some overseas mission partners to use the name “Sounds of Life” for their ministries (Schools, churches etc.), but disclaimers have been issued to all such ministries making it quite clear that these ministries are separate legal entities and the founders of these ministries are quite clear that they cannot make any legally admissible claims on the Trust and have signed up to that fact.

2. Volunteers :-
All work for the Trust is carried out by volunteers. The husband and wife founder-directors are unpaid. Therefore, there is no requirement for Employment Principles or the like, although as soon as we did take on someone in a paid post, if that ever does occur - unlikely at present - such a hole would be rapidly filled.
3. Structure, Governance and Management :-
Sounds of Life Trust is an unincorporated charitable trust registered in the UK, registration number 1090551, and is constituted under a trust deed dated 2[nd] December 2001.
The method of appointment of trustees and eligibility for trusteeship are laid down in the trust deed. There must be at least three trustees. New trustees are appointed by a resolution passed at a special meeting of the trustees. No other person or external body is entitled to appoint a trustee.
The trustees hold at least two ordinary meetings in each year. The trustees at their first ordinary meeting in each year () must elect one of their number to be chairman of their meetings until the commencement of the first ordinary meeting in the following year. ( - For convenience and practicality, because the 1[st] meeting of the Sounds of Life Trustees does not take place until May of each year, the election of officers for the year following takes place at the November meeting of the Trustees each year - effective 1[st] January following.)
In raising funds the trustees must not undertake any substantial permanent trading activity.
The trustees met twice during 2022 and at both meetings there were full attendances.
The day-to-day work of the Trust is carried out by Mr and Mrs Hunt.
4. Reserves Policy :-
The Trust does not hold any reserve funding whatsoever, but should the situation arise when it seems desirable to do so, the trustees will take advice as to how to go about it from the Charity Commission, Inland Revenue and/or who else it seems appropriate to consult at that time. At that time, a Reserves Policy will be written and put in place based on our findings then. (On many occasions where relatively small amounts of money have not been earmarked for a special purpose by the giver, it has been necessary for Mr & Mrs Hunt to decide as to which part of ministry spend the gift should go to, after which it is treated by everyone as restricted giving to that part of the ministry.)
B. MEETING OUR OBJECTIVES & THE MAIN ACTIVITIES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT CARRIED OUT DURING THE YEAR
Mr & Mrs Hunt’s Main Calling and Ministry - It is very important for all readers of this Annual Report to fully understand what our two main volunteer workers say and show about their main callings in God. Both of them say that to supply to people all over the world who are hungry for it, teaching from the Word of God, the Bible, (both in song as mainly previously but now more in terms of written, sometimes recorded preaching and taught ministry), teaching to help them to move on in God, to mature in Christ and to find their ministry in God and to mature in that too, all of which is found in maturing in understanding the written Word of God in the Bible. It is this that has to be considered as their main service for the Lord , with all other work as it contributes to the forming of the Bride of Christ (ready for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and to
the Maturing of the Saints ready for the toughness of the Biblically prophesied End-Times soon to be upon us all, which they both consider themselves called to do), administration, support of the poor overseas etc. being consequential from this, but not of greater importance than this. They consider that this is where their calling is, and together with missions to teach the Word under the anointing of Holy Spirit, is what will be judged against the Lord’s personal calling to them as to its completion (Matthew 7v21-23). It is for this reason that they have been trying for years to find people to do all the Administration, so that they can concentrate on the Word and its promulgation among the nations, to whom they consider themselves called.
As stated in previous years, we want to underline again here the fact that we consider everything the Trust does to be for the benefit of other people, believing that improvement in quality of life will result. Because we believe that the Bible is the most comprehensive handbook of instruction for every human mortal on this planet, studying, reading and implementing its contents must be for everyone who comes to the Bible with a desire to find out what it says and why and therefore must result in good.

SOUNDS OF LIFE - ANNUAL REPORT 2022
The Trustees are aware of the guidance from the Charity Commission on public benefit and have complied with the duty to have due regard to the guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant. We can confirm that there have been no “serious incidents” this year.
- Mr HUNT - Completion of full Bible book teachings on the Gospels of Mark and Luke and standardisation and upgrade of work done previously on Hebrews and 1[st] John has been Mr Hunt’s main work this year. As it seems unlikely that overseas ministry will restart any time soon, he has organised the work into 8 separate groups, covering the whole Bible, Group 3 of which - the four gospels - is the first to be completed. There are now eight full Bible teachings available for ordering from all over the world. The main aims, as with all other Bible teaching, is to provide material to bring new and immature Christians to maturity in Christ in a very short space of time, as so much time is no longer available as we approach what must soon be the end of the end-times. No missions have been planned. It seems sensible to mention here too the huge series of Bible teachings that constitute the Trust’s Discipleship Course. There are 12 modules (10 written by Mr Hunt and
two by Mrs Hunt), which will provide the serious student with the quickest route to maturing in Christ and to achieve the potential which such people have in God at as early a stage as possible.
-
MRS HUNT - Concentrating on writing material for continuing Kids Connect Clubs worldwide is the order of the day now (see also 4 below). These are highly appreciated and the children mature in God as they learn about the Christian life in ways which they both enjoy and find interesting, together with Bible-based games and other good children’s learning methods, songs, dramas and memory Bible verses. Despite a continuing and worsening degenerative back condition, Mrs Hunt is still progressing, although very slowly, on a document to teach on Paul’s letter to the Colossians, which was preceded by an excellent similar adult teaching on the letter to the Ephesians and we look forward very much to getting our hands on our own personal copies when finished. She is the Trust’s resident expert on the EndTimes and on Spirit, Soul and Body Deliverance Issues (as previously taught by Ellel Ministries).
-
Appreciation of Flavio G’s work. It is only right and proper that, once again, we record here the continuing work Mr Flavio G. is carrying out in transferring a lot of Mrs Hunt’s teaching to word processed format (produced over many years before she knew anything about laptops and the like!). This is a massive job and we would invite any others who have a desire to help out in this way, to please be in touch.
-
Kids Connect Club (KCC). The work of Kids Connect Clubs is continuing and is being strongly blessed by the Lord in many ways, resulting in young people of all ages, all over the world making Jesus their Lord, Saviour and Master. For this we give thanks and praise to God. Currently despatched are 46 packs of Kids Club material arranged in two sessions bi-monthly.
-
Daily Devotional. Work continues every day by Mr Hunt in this area, and he still works one year ahead. If anything, the anointing on this has increased even more in the last twelve months than in previous years. Of course, planning, reading over and printing and photocopying are all extra to the daily job of actually writing it, but having the planning up to this point complete shortens the time spent in writing each day! It is a high commitment job, but there can be no doubt of its spiritual fruitfulness. A pastor friend (Andrew) in India adds the daily devotional session each morning to the SOL WhatsApp group controlled by Mrs Hunt, and this has seen significant fruit in recent months - we are indebted to him for his continued work in this area.
Mr Hunt has finished all the writing of devotionals for the whole of 2023, and January to December 2024 are already fully planned too, with work already almost complete on preparing 2025 devotionals for the daily writing.
-
Bibles for Africa Project. As we said on a number of previous occasions in the last few years, this is a continuing battle as there are so many who want their own Bibles in Africa, but with the money given, as much as possible is still being done. The small amount of contributions each month is held until sufficient is available to make a valuable contribution of Bibles somewhere in Africa or India.
-
Christian Teaching Preparation and Usage. A little detail on the outline paragraph above, so that the reader is left in no doubt as to the busyness of all that is going on! It is becoming even more precious that Mrs Hunt has gained such a good knowledge of touch typing and the Word processor package called Microsoft Word 2010, which both Mr and Mrs Hunt use on their

Microsoft 7 machines. The Trust’s “computer man”, Mr Sylvio Chan, has said that he thinks this software will last some years yet, probably to the end of the existence of Sounds of life Trust or longer.
-
Mobile Phone Ministry. This part of the ministry is run by Mrs Hunt, who provides a ministry of help, support, encouragement and praying to all our Partners and others who are involved with the ministry all-round the world who need help in any way at all. It also acts as a Rapid Response contact line for any emergency. Mrs Hunt has remained very busy in the area of mobile phone ministry and many people have been helped, encouraged, with some also receiving new vision for the future through her prophetic gift. It is worth every penny of the cost in terms of benefit to the recipients.
-
CD Ministry - It is likely that it will be some years, if ever, before Mr Hunt is able to start recording his written teaching again, as his voice is still suffering the after-effects of the radio-therapy treatment he had in 2019. Also, Mrs Hunt cannot sit long enough in a suitable position for recording. In the meantime, this aspect of the ministry has been put on indefinite hold . If they ever do start recording again, the complete recording of the Discipleship Course they have produced will be well over 100 CDs in total for all 12 modules, which would make this Course one which will bring the newcomer to maturity in Christ at a very much quicker rate than previously. In the meantime, Mr Hunt will be continuing his work on his full Bible expositions, hopefully to finish upgrading with 1[st] John and then continuing writing with either Genesis or going for finishing the New Testament as quickly as possible.

- Sounds of Life Free School Academies .
The following is a list of all the schools currently being run as Sounds of Life free School Academies -
School 1 - Amasiri, Nigeria - now fully self-funding using the projects set up,
School 2 - Eket, Nigeria - now run by Rev. Ememobong E.,
School 3 - Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia - see under the section below regarding Bishop George M who is its headmaster.
School 4 - Okongoyong, Bakassi, Cameroon - going on well and they are looking to recruit a new teacher.
School 5 - Ibaka, Nigeria - currently on hold, whether it will ever start up properly is not yet clear,
School 6 - Mufulira, Zambia - a new school shop project started business in late 2021 and opened in January of this year under the Headmaster Pastor Richard L. New classes are coming on stream. The Poultry Project is also running.
School 7 - The Barracks, Cameroon - opened using the Church Hall in September 2021. Both Cameroon schools are headed up by Rev Ememobong E and are funded by the crayfish project which, like the other school projects, was initially funded by Sounds of Life. The single project is struggling to support both schools.
School 8 - Bumbuna, Sierra Leone. The school shop project opened early this year and the school itself opened in September with 80 pupils. This whole school project is being overseen by Rev Isaac with the headmaster being Pastor Daniel S.

To have eight schools in various stages of running and preparation to run within four years of Mrs Hunt receiving the vision for them from the Lord is absolutely wonderful. Providing education for these children from the poorest families is lifechanging. Further information is given on Pages 7 to 9 and 11.
SHORT REPORTS ON ALL THE PEOPLE WE HAVE HELPED BOTH IN THE PAST AND IN THE PRESENT
Because the Trust’s aims are wholly for the spiritual advancement of the kingdom of God, we help to meet the physical needs of only those who are making valuable contributions to that advancement and need this physical help to keep going with the spiritual work. We make sure that they are assisting us in fulfilling the aims and objectives of the Trust in what they are doing. Towards the end of 2020, Mr and Mrs Hunt undertook an exercise to try to help previous recipients to become self-sustaining by financing them to set up projects to achieve this. It has been very successful, but one side-effect is what usually happens - when the money stops coming, the need for continued friendship and mutual encouragement often is perceived as ceasing to be a priority in the minds of the recipients, limiting our knowledge of how things are going in their lives and work.
In the following record of happenings in these people’s lives over the last 12 months, we start with a short introduction to record how we started to relate to them and the why of everything we do and all we seek to do to help them and what that is. We hope that you will be very blessed to know what is going on and will stand with us as people who seriously want the betterment of every man and woman on earth as they come to know and understand all that The Great Shepherd of the Sheep has written for us to learn and mature in Him and to live better and more holy and sanctified lives.
The order in which we put these below has absolutely no relevance at all, but we try to make sure that the kingdom of God is advanced in the way we help them to do what they do.
African Contacts
a) Refugee Pastor from Cameroon - Now working in Nigeria - Known to all of us as Pastor Elias O. Mr & Mrs Hunt were introduced to Pastor Elias again by Rev Ememobong E, who was one of the latter’s pastors at the time, while working on mission in Cameroon where Rev Ememobong E also has established ministry. Due to the forthcoming civil war in Cameroon, Pastor Elias and his wife and family were forced to flee Cameroon and return to Nigeria where they came from in the first place.
This year, we haven’t heard much from Pastor Elias, as his school has become self-supporting through the shop project, which has meant we have been able to withdraw financial support. Pastor Elias (left) and Rev Collins together after having completed a baptismal service
b) Rev Collins E . This gentleman, a fully-qualified Minister, comes from Cameroon, a country that borders Nigeria. He met Pastor Elias whilst Elias was working as a missionary in Cameroon. They are now great friends; Elias invites him to speak at crusade meetings at the SOL church in Amasiri and he also supports Elias at baptisms in
the river. Pastor Collins’ ministry is to the displaced Christians, the refugees in Cameroon but also to those who have fled across the border with Nigeria as a result of the war in Cameroon. For a long time, he received SOL Discipleship Modules, using then to teach adults during a daily session. He also ran KCCs in both countries. The material has been the only educational material that the children received, since they cannot go to school because the poverty levels of their families.
As we reported last year, Collins returned to Cameroon to be with his wife and family, and it is a big ask of any man to be away from home virtually 100% of the time, so Rev Emem took over the headmastership of the Eket school, and because of the increased cost of speed boat travel also - the only way for Collins to travel between Cameroon and Nigeria - it is no surprise that, as far as we know, he has not returned to Nigeria and it is looking less and less likely that he ever will. We received greetings from him for Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022, but he has been silent since.
c) Five-Fold Christian Church (FFCC), Zambia - Bishop George M.
George with wife Jenny before she caught cancer
We met George whilst working with a different George in 2013 - George S. We spent a lovely couple of days with him on his farm, a time that will not be forgotten for its godliness and holiness which we felt both evenings around an open fire.
This year, we started it with Jenny’s seemingly untimely death on Christmas Eve 2021still uppermost in our minds; George has spent a lot of time this year coming to terms with it and we sympathise greatly with him.

Because of this it was not surprising that the completion of the Saladi House would have to wait a bit longer before it became the project for school 3 in Kapiri Mposhi, run by George, for which we receive photos occasionally. One thing we hope will occur is that the school will be able to increase its number of pupils when the Saladi House is up and running, because we have supplied all the money for this project to be enabled to get underway and therefore it must happen sometime. But in the meantime, George is starting a piggery project, and, in a message from him at end of November, we heard that the concrete foundations for the piggery were being laid and that 4 pigs had already been purchased (SOL had provided some of the money needed for this). Nevertheless, the SOL Academy in Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia, headmastered by George, has had a new class started with 30 children (the previous class also has 30 children), and the school uniform is brown with a yellow shirt. They have two teachers and some helpers, for whom a SOL Partner had donated money for a love gift, to encourage them.
Under George’s oversight, Mufulira School (SOL Free School No 6) - headmaster Pastor Richard L - opened on Monday 24[th] January. To start with, they opened with only one class of 40 children, but there were quite a lot of children on the waiting list, so a second class was required as soon as possible. Because one class runs from early morning until lunchtime and the second class in the afternoon, the only extra expense would be for children’s workbooks. The school leaders have since started a second project - a poultry farm to further support the school, because the third and fourth classes, taking place in the local Community Hall, started in September to take care of the high numbers of children wanting to attend. Because the local hall was given on a temporary basis, Pastor Richard was starting a small building project for the permanent provision of two new classrooms, toilets and an office - SOL has provided some money for this project.
George lost his appetite because of the loss of Jenny and Mrs Hunt encouraged him to eat healthily and to take meals regularly. He remains busy overseeing the Five Fold Christian Church Ministry, making visits to all his pastors across the country. He is always keen to receive teaching from both Mr and Mrs Hunt and studies it carefully.
Bishop George also has a farm with a poultry business and various animals - ducks, pigs, sheep etc. He also grows wheat and sweet potatoes; he has fruit trees including mangos and he has been planting a lot more banana trees recently to add to those already in the plantation.
He keeps in regular contact with us - Mr and Mrs Hunt miss not seeing all the people in their annual conferences at which they were the main speakers. His two youngest children, Nelly and George Jnr remain living in the family house in Lusaka. George visits them regularly.
Emem with Wife Rosemary at her graduation earlier this year
d) Ememobong E . Emem was one of Mr & Mrs Hunt’s earliest new friends from Africa, having been introduced to them by Ray O., the Jungle Missionary at the first of his mission conferences at which Mr & Mrs Hunt had been the speakers. Over the years we have supported Emem in prayer and financially, but several years back, when it appeared to us that he was doing very well, we decided that in the best interest of others who were more needy, that we withdraw our financial support for him, although he still receives our teaching on paper and CDs and he uses it in his meetings and conferences etc., particularly the Discipleship Course. He also runs Kids Connect Clubs in his churches.
This year, the situation with the Eket School has changed and Collins has withdrawn from being its headmaster. Rev Emem lived only one hour’s drive from Eket and therefore was far better placed to give the school oversight, rather than Pastor Elias. (Emem also oversees two SOL free Academy Schools in Cameroon). He was happy to take on this task with his wife Rosemary, recently qualified as a teacher, taking on the position of headmistress.
School No 4 is now known as the Okongoyong School and school 7 just getting underway will be known as The Barracks school. Cementing the floor and other work has been carried out and more teachers handbooks and Pupil work-books will be required as the school grows.
Emem is in regular contact with us and often makes contributions on the SOL Partners WhatsApp Group. Emem also has oversight of various churches in both Cameroon and Nigeria which he has planted. He receives Peter’s Daily Devotional, using it in his own family prayer times and in teaching in his churches. He also runs Kids Connect Clubs in both his churches and his schools.
Due to the Cameroon civil war, he and his family had to flee the severe fighting 7 years ago, returning to Nigeria. The mission trip he completed to Cameroon earlier this year was still dangerous because of the fighting which continues today. He visited a mountain village called Bekatako, which can only be accessed by a fast-flowing river. Due to its isolated position, it has escaped the fighting. Emem took Mr and Mrs Hunt there when the river was low and therefore wade-able. Now the river was full and Emem had to cross it in a rubber inflated ring. The people were delighted to see him again and he was able to baptise a number of new converts. Emem had trekked through jungle terrain to avoid the shooting.
His Cameroon HQ in Bekora was deserted and the community had fled. His church there had been looted and the windows had been taken by the soldiers. Bullet holes were seen everywhere in the walls, the pillars and even the roof. Mr and

Mrs Hunt have good memories of preaching and teaching there. His other churches had been destroyed by the soldiers too, one of which SOL had purchased.
He returned home to Nigeria safely but in much prayer concerning the many church members who had lost their homes, livelihoods, and had been scattered.
SOL Schools overseen by Rev Ememobong
SOL Academy Eket - 30 new children have been enrolled. Parents and local pastors support the school by buying and donating various items such as notebooks, toilet materials and First Aid boxes. One local pastor has sent two of his church members to teach in the school. One of Emem’s church members from his Oron church teaches and stays in the school from Monday to Friday - Emem provides her food.
SOL Academy Okongoyong, Bakassi, Cameroon - the school is currently looking to recruit a new
volunteer teacher.
SOL Academy - the Barracks, Cameroon - The school currently runs in the evenings and on Saturday mornings which aids the teacher who has another job during the day. The school is connected to Emem’s church and he has appointed a new female pastor, with the previous one leaving to get married. Emem has created a room for her at the end of the church hall, using drapes to partition it. He has made a bed out of benches and planks with a mattress on top. The school has three volunteer teachers.
- e) Nigerian Economic Crisis Helping the Poor
Basic food prices rose substantially over the coronavirus lockdown period, thereby creating great hardship for the people and have stayed high since, but also the Nigerian economic state has made life even more difficult for many povertystricken people. We are grateful to the SOL Partners who faithfully continue to support this need.
1. Rev. Gideon A., Nigeria (of The Christian Faith Salvation Mission, Calabar, Cross River State) - Mr & Mrs Hunt were introduced to Rev Gideon by Rev. Ememobong E who Mr & Mrs Hunt were working with at the time on mission.
This year, we have not been in regular contact with Rev Gideon, but we have been able to make one transfer of money to him thanks to the donations mentioned above.
2. Village Missionary and Pastor in Nigeria - John A. John was first introduced to Mr &
Mrs Hunt when they worked with the Jungle Missionary, Ray O. in 2005. He was living with Ray and Ray’s wife, Esther. They met John each time there was a SOL Mission with Ray, so a good relationship with him was built up over those years.
Much has happened since then and John has been an established pastor and missionary in a different part of Nigeria, Ondo State, is married with three children. He used SOL KCC and Discipleship Modules in his church and introduced these materials to local pastors too. The children and church members are growing spiritually. However, see below for John’s change of situation.
John had permission to evangelise in some local primary and secondary schools, speaking to hundreds of students. Benefit, John’s wife, had the opportunity to take her “mobile shop”, set up in the first place by SOL, into a local college, to supply students with snacks and cold drinks.
Early in the year, we have learned that John and Benefit’s move to Abuja is going ahead as reported as a possibility last year, and John wants to keep the Computer School on and Benefit wants to continue her shop as well, when they move. In a long text message received in September, we found out that, as expected, John and Benefit have been finding it tough financially since resigning from the church leadership position in their village in March in order to take up evangelism, (training first), in the capital Abuja. Benefit’s small business has kept them going in the interim. They have been given a deadline of the end of September to leave their accommodation, but rents and expenses are much higher in Abuja. They are assisting the new Pastor in the village, who has been in position since March, until they leave permanently. The village church is growing in numbers. They are grateful for our financial help in the past and continue to pray for the whole SOL team here, while standing in faith for the finance they need by end of September.
Update - we heard one day comparatively recently before he was due to leave for Abuja. He told us he had failed to calculate the cost of the move and had got into debt. Mr and Mrs Hunt had strongly advised him not to make the move, but he chose to ignore this. He linked with an evangelism ministry in Abuja which has financial problems.

f) Youth Achievers International Home (YAIH), Kampala, Uganda - Praise & Moses M - The phone on the office desk rang the second day we had our brand new website up and this softly spoken female voice said “Hello, is that Sounds of Life”. That way is how our relationship with Praise N. of YAIH began! Praise is busy bringing up 36 children off the streets of the towns around where she used to live and where she has lived since and her own two twin toddlers too, who were three years old in February this year. What a godly thing to do to adopt orphans many of whom have HIV Aids and give them a secure Christian home. They are - every one of them - absolutely lovely - it’s what living in a Godly atmosphere all day every day makes you into! Praise the Lord! How do we know? Answer: because Mr and Mrs Hunt had a chance to go over there to do missions organised by Praise, firstly in 2010, (when both Mr and Mrs Hunt
caught dengue fever) and again in 2018 where they were all a lot more grown up and even more godly - what a testimony she has in them!
This year, we haven’t heard much, if anything, from Praise or Moses, but we will keep people up to date if and when we do so.
g) Graduate Student, Nigeria - Ambre N .
It is when you first go to Africa, and you get out of the tourist areas and out into the jungle and other “wild” parts, that you see how Africa really is and how poor some of the people really are. It touches your heart as it did with Mr & Mrs Hunt on their first visit in 2005 to the Jungle Missionary and his organisation in the jungle village of Butatong and they have never been the same again! This is where they met Ambre N.
Ambre managed to start paying rent for his shop in March 2021 but did not find a suitable wholesaler to supply the goods for a long time; by July that year he had placed an order but was further delayed because there was a huge delivery cost which SOL helped him with. The shop opened in August but has been slow because of the coronavirus pandemic and the need for it to become known in the area. The shop rent renewal was due in March this year. His shop tax, which he has been putting aside, will be assessed at the end of the first year’s trading and will be payable immediately.
This year, Ambre told us that he had done some electrical installations for some customers. Trade and business was slow in his shop though, and there were some days when he had no customers..
Recently his keke (funded by us in the first place as a source of self-sufficiency income and which he is still running as a local taxi on a part-time basis) has been having problems because the engine was wearing out. We were able to help him with this, together with annual renewals of insurance and road-worthy certificates (MOT).
Ambre managed to pay his 6-monthly house rent bill due 1[st] April. He is delighted to know (as we are too and are very grateful for it) that a few SOL Prayer Partners continue to finance him in a small way with monthly donations, which cover a lot of his food costs and are sent to him on a two-monthly basis which saves on the very high bank transfer costs of £41 each time.
Ambre’s main problem is that he is the only one out of six siblings in his family who is earning any money and they therefore expect him to finance them and their widowed mother as well.
Later in the year we reported that Ambre continued to run his electronic shop. As the cost of living rises in the UK, we hear that is also happening across the world, including in Nigeria. When Ambre was preparing to order new stock for his shop, he discovered that the cost to purchase from the Wholesaler had risen significantly. SOL Partners have been able to help him with this cost increase, but he is having to pass this increase on to his customers in higher prices for the future.
Ambre is very active in his church, playing bass guitar in the worship band and also helping with the PA sound desk. He has some strong Christian friendships within the church.
He contributes regularly to the SOL Partners WhatsApp Group and enjoys the daily teaching and he appreciates those Partners who continue to support him especially since the cost of basic food has risen significantly.
h) Sierra Leone Would-Be Mission Host - Apostle Abraham S. This gentleman, although not met yet by Mr & Mrs Hunt, has been selected by Ray O. as local mission host for when they do their first mission in Sierra Leone, which was hoped will be 2021, but had to be cancelled again. A good relationship, based on healing prayer for Mr Hunt’s sickness, is already being built up between Sounds of Life and the local church personnel headed up by this gentlemen, who receives regular teaching despatches and Kids Connect Club issues for his various churches. (As reported above, there is to be another SOL free-school started in Sierra Leone, making it four African countries, which now will have Sounds of Life Free Academy Schools.)

- i) Jungle Missionary Ray O.
This is the man who started off Mr and Mrs Hunt’s overseas ministry by inviting them to the jungle back in 2005, and he has further developed his own ministry since our paths separated back in 2009. But Mr & Mrs Hunt have never lost their desire to work with Ray again, but this has been prevented by both Mr and Mrs Hunt’s sickness states and the coronavirus pandemic.
Ray receives regular teaching materials which he uses in his mission schools. Ray’s wife Esther runs a Kids Club for the children in the jungle village of Butatong; she receives Mrs Hunt’s despatches.
j) Bumbuna School, Sierra Leone - Headmaster - Pastor Daniel .
Pastor Daniel
In November 2021, Rev Isaac, overseer of the Free Gospel Mission, Magburaka, Sierra Leone, West Africa, requested that a SOL Academy school be started in Bumbuna, and Pastor Daniel would be the Headmaster. SOL agreed to oversee the project. The community was called together with church members and Councillor Mary. Many volunteers came forward to help. A qualified teacher and Treasurer were appointed and Mary made her shop premises available for the shop project. SOL money was sent to finish preparing the shop building and work started in January. Electricity connection and buying/fixing shelving was financed by SOL also. Initial stocking of the shop was also covered by SOL. A friend of the project agreed to deliver the goods purchased from a wholesaler over the earth and mud roads in his van at cost price.
The shop sells a variety of products and Pastor Daniel agreed that classes would be run in his large church, which needs a certain amount of repair work to make sure that it is secure for all the school equipment etc. Rev Isaac has contributed 30 school uniforms, 10 school desks and a school sign.
Daniel began a degree course at Makine University and had to sit his first examinations in April, which meant a halt on the preparations of the shop opening. Because his degree course is going to take more time than we think he estimated, we suggested that Brother Sawah help him in the running of the school during this period of study.
As previously reported, the new free school for the children from poor families, had been given the use of a shop premises to sell everyday food items. This project is designed to provide the running costs of the SOL Academy. Volunteers from the community run the shop which is bringing in a regular profit. It will give the volunteer teacher a “love gift” every month, to help provide for food.
Pastor Daniel’s offer of his church for the first two classes has not been realised, since the building is not yet ready. The new church is still under construction and needs work to be done to finish the roof , along with the provision of doors and windows. It is estimated that this will take two years to raise funds for the work.
A lady in the community who used to attend Daniel’s church, offered an empty building that she owned, for a period of two years. This is ideal for the first two classes and is ready for use immediately. She required rent and this has been paid by SOL. Tables and wooden benches have been made for the pupils, along with a desk and table for the teacher.
Class items were purchased and delivered to Bumbuna, in readiness for the new academic school term in September, when the school opened. Pupils have enrolled for the first two primary age classes, 40 children in each class. It was suggested that the teacher will teach one class in the morning and the second in the afternoon. Material for the school uniform has been selected and a school sign board is ready to be erected outside the building.
There is great excitement in Bumbuna, as the people witness with joy in their hearts the opening of the eighth SOL Academy free school.
k) New SOL Academy School, Mufulira, Zambia - Head-Mastered by Pastor Richard L under the covering of Bishop George M. The shop project was opened in November 2021 and is run by community volunteers. A further supply of shop items was purchased earlier this year to help the shop to expand and bring in more profit. The teacher is provided a daily lunch and the school has been provided with toilet paper, cleaning materials and handwash from the shop profits. The school started with one class of 40 pupils in January this year and, after the gifting of a church’s hall from another local church, a second class of another 40 children started in February, which is being taught by the teacher in the afternoons. A school uniform has been chosen and is now available and which parents supply for their children.
A second project of a Poultry Farm has been suggested and a piece of land has been given to use for it and volunteers are ready to run it. Work is now underway to get it up and running with the long-term aim of supplying finance for other classrooms within Richard’s church building. It will start with 50 day-old chicks and money to help this was sent in early April.
We are so grateful to all Partners who contribute towards these initial school costs (it is hoped that these projects will eventually fully support the school financially). The children are already making good progress educationally and are benefiting from the contributions which are making a huge difference.

Page 12
Later in the year we were able to report that the shop project is doing well and the new Poultry Farm has opened with 50 one-day old chicks . After 4 months the chicks will have grown enough to sell in the market, with part of the profit more chicks will be purchased and some of the rest will be available for school needs.
The Headmaster, Pastor Richard, has made an agreement with the authorities to hire the local Community Hall, the monthly rent being paid with profit from the shop. This has enabled two new classes to start in the September term. Thanks to the generosity of our SOL Partners, we have been able to send money to equip the two new classes with teacher Text Books and Pupil Workbooks, tables and chairs, blackboard and chalk, and pupil pens etc. Again, one class will run in the morning and the other in the afternoon. A new teacher has been found for the new classes and will be provided with a daily lunch from the profit of the two businesses.
It cannot be overemphasised how grateful we are to God and the SOL Partners for making it possible to provide free education to 160 children from the start of this academic year in September. This will be life-changing, both spiritually and educationally.
Pastor Richard L
Indian Contacts
a) House of Blessing Churches, Kukatpally, HYDERABAD, India - ( Run by Pastor Andrew G and his wife Theja .) Mr
& Mrs Hunt first met Andrew when he was one of their interpreters when they did a mission in 2007 with Brother A. Joseph. We were able to first work with Andrew in his church in 2013,which was a joy-filled time with much blessing and the hand of God on us and them so very much.
The court case that arose from an Easter Christian march of witness by Andrew’s church a few years ago involving an attack by Hindus has been resolved. The church members have forgiven their attackers and the case has been closed without prosecutions.
This year, although we haven’t heard much from Andrew and Theja, we know they are working hard to extend the kingdom of God and are being fruitful in it, in a very difficult, stressful and dangerous political environment. They need and deserve our prayers and spiritual warfare on their behalf. Their daughter, Serah Johannah, is now 3 years old and is doing well.
Leaders at the Conference - mid-year - taught from Mr Hunt’s Discipleship Modules
b) Pastor David - Bonghir. Pastor David was first introduced to Mr & Mrs Hunt when they were doing a mission in Hyderabad India which he attended in 2007. He now runs adult seminars of his own using the teaching material produced by Mr & Mrs Hunt. If they ever have another chance to do a mission to India, it is their firm desire to work with this man of God, who is an absolutely 100% committed brother in Christ and we give God thanks for the ministry he is doing which is yielding great fruit. We are blessed to be a small part of it.
Following on from his way of publicising our work, and with the
Missions Mr and Mrs Hunt carried out in Zambia and Uganda, many more people have signed up to receive Discipleship Modules, Daily Devotionals and other teaching, including written and recorded versions of what they teach. Alongside all this, other recipients continue to receive teaching, both in UK and overseas, all of which contributes to the spiritual maturing of those who study them.
Pastor David is just starting receiving the Discipleship Course, having previously taught from Mr & Mrs Hunt’s other teachings at his half-yearly Pastors’ meetings. David’s seminars usually for pastors and church workers run twice a year, but due to coronavirus the October/November one has had to be postponed. Despite the severe rate of infection across India, David and his family have kept well. He continues to work among the village people and runs a number of KCCs.
This year, Rev. David, who had been running SOL Pastors seminars until the coronavirus pandemic brought delay, restarted them in June when he used Mr Hunt’s Discipleship Module 5 entitled “Growing in God”. We have heard from David that the SOL seminars held in June had been well attended. The Module 5 teaching had gone very well. He also continues to run Kids Connect Clubs in all his village churches and receives regular teaching from both Mr and Mrs Hunt.

During the year, David had to have another period in hospital with heart problems, but is now well again and functioning well, we understand.

The Future of Sounds of Life Overseas Missions .
Mr and Mrs Hunt completed their last overseas mission in 2019, after which sickness has held them back from restarting this what was an important aspect of the ministry - Mr Hunt from cancer which had already begun to manifest when that final mission was carried out and Mrs Hunt’s degenerative back problem starting the year after. Mr Hunt’s skin cancer reached stage 4 requiring huge amounts of radio therapy in September 2019, since when he has not been well enough to travel long distances, and has been unable to speak properly for long periods of time. Today, this is still his only problem associated with the cancer (including the loss of strength and stamina from the long period of serious sickness beginning in 2018). Since 2019, his wife has also deteriorated physically, rendering her house-bound currently, to the point where it will take a Godsourced miracle of healing power in both their lives for missions to be seriously restarted. So, this is where we leave this subject until we have good reports of their health significantly improving.
C. FINANCIAL REVIEW & OFFICE FUNCTIONS AND THEIR PRACTICALITIES
Accounts (see Accounts presented at Pages 15-18). The accounts this year have, once again, been independently examined by Mr Patrick Bean F.C.C.A., and his report is attached at Page 19. We ended the year with an underspend of £4464.46. The amount of Gift Aid claimable for financial year 22/23 at year end stands at £2386.33, which is excellent considering the very few people we have who have made Gift Aid declarations in the Trust’s favour. There are still three months of giving to be added before the final claim is submitted in early April 2023.
We would like to place on record at this point our indebtedness to our regular givers who have not deviated an inch in their giving throughout both the Pandemic and the Cost of Living Crisis over the last three years - we really do appreciate their loyalty. We have lost one regular giver however - our most senior giver - the first to sign up many years ago - Mr Nick Cowan, who has been forced to withdraw because of a domestic situation which cannot be discussed here - thank you Nick for your faithful support over so many years.
Social Media - Mr and Mrs Hunt’s views on Social media have remain unchanged - they are still convinced that it is not a good IT development tool and should be got rid of very quickly or, if that is not possible, it must be the subject of heavy legislation with strong convictions and meaningful sentences. Because these things are not happening in anything like the timescale they would consider good, they will, therefore, continue to maintain an adamant stance against its use.
Work on Trust Policies - During the year, the Trust’s Safeguarding Policy and its Code of Conduct were reviewed with no amendments being needed to the originals.
D. SUMMARY OF MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE YEAR 2021
The Trustees of Sounds of Life Trust consider it to be a very pleasing achievement this year to have managed to carry on the running of the trust and achieved all the aims and objectives of the Trust without undue wear and tear on anyone else, in light of the sickness states of both Mr and Mrs Hunt (see above), who are continuing on a home-based ministry, even though their work has worldwide distribution. Whilst Mr Hunt is having to cope with the long-term after-effects of Cancer radio therapy treatment, Mrs Hunt is not improving yet at all and has just (October) had another denervation procedure which we are hoping will give her some reduction of pain levels. We want to take this opportunity once again this year, like last year, to thank all those who have been praying for them both. Our God is faithful to His Word, and where he has promised full healing, you can be sure that it will come.
Other key Happenings This Year
a) Mr Hunt attended, and spoke on behalf of Sounds of Life Trustees and Partners, at the memorial service for Mrs Hawkyard on 29[th] January - it was a fitting tribute to her long Christian life and the years of service she had given to the Trust; he said that she will be sorely missed, a life glorifying to God, for which, he added, we should all be thankful to God.
January 2023

SOUNDS OF LIFE - ANNUAL REPORT 2022
Page 14
b) Mr Hunt saw to their completion the Mark and Luke full teaching productions and the Hebrews & 1[st] John upgrades - future plans have not been finalised yet, but next year he will concentrate on either Genesis or the remaining parts of the New Testament.
c) This year Mr and Mrs Hunt have been financially able to purchase the photocopier, which up until this year had been rented out to the Trust by J.G. Copiers Ltd; this purchase will save the Trust the expense of repaying this rent each month of £35, for which we are grateful.
d) Good progress has been made of Schools 6 & 8, with School 8 having started functioning in the new academic year in September, its supporting project having started early this year. Work remains to be done to finally prepare for the extra two classes in School 6, which will need financing by the Trust. The remaining schools are under their own steam (using their projects financed by the Trust). The Ibaka school is still not progressing and it seems probable that this one will not get going at all, but we wait to see. Generally speaking these new Sounds of Life free academy schools are all making progress and are doing well in terms of the teaching and learning that goes on - it is indeed the Lord’s will for these to succeed. We are grateful to all the Partners who have contributed to getting them underway.
E. CURRENT SITUATIONS AND FORTHCOMING MILESTONES
There are five things to mention under this heading -
1) We have already reported on the progress being made by the Sounds of Life free Academy schools but it is worth repeating here that this would not have occurred had it not been for Mrs Hunt receiving a word from On High about starting them. They have had problems and difficulties, but the truth is that many more children who would have been unable to receive it due to their parents’ states of poverty, are now receiving life-changing education Three new Sounds of Life Academy schools are worth mentioning again as they have only recently got underway and need prayer for their continuation please -
a) School 6 - Mufulira, Zambia, - Headmaster Pastor Richard L.
b) School 7 - The Barracks, Bakassi Cameroon - Headmaster Rev Ememobong E.
c) School 8 - Bumbuna, Sierra Leone - Headmaster Pastor Daniel S.
2) The continual high numbers of Church leaders throughout India and Africa receiving the Kids Connect Club material (see 3 below), Discipleship Course Modules and Full Bible Book Expositions is good, which means that this teaching is being / will be cascaded down to church members, thereby providing excellent fodder for people to mature in Christ - the whole point of them being written.
3) Continuing work with Kids Connect Clubs - we praise God for his enabling of Mrs Hunt, despite her high pain levels to continue writing these important issues under the anointing of Holy Spirit, which has just resulted in another fully-scanned and rhyming song / poem on the story of the healing of the man with the withered hand on the Sabbath, following that of Joseph (Genesis) last year, together with all the usual games, puzzles and teaching articles, memory Bible verses etc., all designed to help the children to learn the Word of God and its application in their lives.
4) The continuing and very successful Sounds of Life WhatsApp group run by Mrs Hunt, which carries daily thoughts by her and Mr Hunt’s Daily Devotional in full, thanks to the good offices of our Brother Andrew in India (see above).
5) Mr Hunt has “grasped the nettle” of buying and learning how to use a smartphone; he is now a member of the Whatsapp group and makes additional comments and photographs to his devotional series.
F. PRAYER
We must not complete this Report without mentioning the need for prayer. If we did not have regular organised prayer going up, the probability is that Sounds of Life might have ceased to function following the problems Mr and Mrs Hunt have experienced of recent years, so please do not give up on your prayer or any other aspect of Sounds of Life business or ministry. Please, please be in touch if you want to know more detail about the prayer that you are required to lift to the Lord. Thank you to all Prayer Partners for the work you do for us in prayer, finance and support in general. We love you all.
G.. CONCLUSION
This Annual Report will be very different to many from previous years, but we hope that it will bless and encourage each reader deeply and make them conscious of the presence of God as they read it. We trust that reading it has not only blessed and encouraged you, but also that it has challenged you as well. Please be in touch if you want to be involved with what we do. Our hope is that we continue into next year - we value people praying alongside that too. God bless and be with you in all you do.

Independent Examiner’s Report
Patrick Bean F.C.C.A

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Sounds of Life Trust Year Ending 31 December 2022.
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Sounds of Life Trust for the year ended 31 December 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Yours truly,
P Bean F.C.C.A 20[th] January 2023
