2. TRUSTEE REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2021
A. AIM, PURPOSE & OTHER GOVERNANCE ISSUES
i) Background & History
Back in 1995, soon after Mr and Mrs Hunt had responded to the call of God on their lives to teach and preach the Word of God as well as to sing it (both are vocal musicians and Mrs Hunt is a fully qualified keyboard player too) a name was necessary for communication and advertisement, and, very quickly, the Lord gave them “Sounds of Life” as they were both involved with singing and speaking the Word of God to the people. Now, of course, it also involves the written word as well! (See below.)
Since those days, it was necessary to become a Charitable Trust which was added in 2001, as stated on Page 2. This was required because of the obvious improvement in finances this would provide through the Gift Aid Payment each year.
ii) Aims & Objectives from the Trust Deed
a) To advance the Christian faith both in the UK and in foreign countries (“the area of benefit”) by evangelism of all kinds, using mobile evangelism teams to tour every city, town and village, bringing the Gospel to all people, by all means, including literature, one-to-one discussions, preaching, teaching, singing, dance, mime, counselling and prayer, through, for example, open-air work, visits to prisons and all organisations open to hearing the Gospel.
b) To further advance the Christian faith by giving new converts to Christianity Bible-based teaching materials, one type for adults, another for children and young people.
(Note should be made that at the Trustees’ Management Committee meeting on 19[th] November 2017, an attempt was made to amend these Aims and Objectives to bring them up to date, deemed by the Charity Commission as not required in their email dated 17[th] April 2018, a copy of which is kept on file.)
iii) Other Important Governance Issues
1. Risk Management :-
The trustees recognise the responsibility they have to identify, assess and manage risks. The trustee board identifies risks as business is conducted at their management meetings. The principal risks to the charity are the potential fall in income due to an ageing and decreasing supporter base, the reliability of mission partners abroad and the safety of staff when working overseas.
The type of work we carry out means that the Trust is not subject to the vagaries of statutory funding. The scope of the work could be reduced if income fell. The supporter base has a high proportion of retired people. The re-launch of the website, the availability of a linked Facebook page and the use of internet-based fundraising such as JustGiving and give.net will hopefully make the work of the Trust accessible to younger potential supporters, although nothing has been seen on this front so far, this after a lot of work carried out by the Chairman.
Potential mission partners who live abroad and who wish to be supported or to host a mission trip are asked to complete an application form. References are taken up to validate the application. Each application is discussed and approved at trustee board level.
For every proposed ministry trip abroad a comprehensive risk assessment process is undergone and the findings documented. This is an active document and is updated regularly until departure date. It includes Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advice, the vetting of mission hosts and accommodation and travel arrangements. All documentation is considered by the trustee board at their management meetings and no overseas trip goes ahead unless the board approves it unanimously.
The Trust has given its permission for some overseas mission partners to use the name “Sounds of Life” for their ministries (Schools, churches etc.), but disclaimers have been issued to all such ministries making it quite clear that these ministries are separate legal entities and the founders of these ministries are quite clear that they cannot make any legally admissible claims on the Trust and have signed up to that fact.

2. Volunteers :-
All work for the Trust is carried out by volunteers. The husband and wife founder-directors are unpaid. Therefore, there is no requirement for Employment Principles or the like, although as soon as we did take on someone in a paid post, if that ever does occur - unlikely at present - such a hole would be rapidly filled.
3. Structure, Governance and Management :-
Sounds of Life Trust is an unincorporated charitable trust registered in the UK, registration number 1090551, and is constituted under a trust deed dated 2[nd] December 2001.
The method of appointment of trustees and eligibility for trusteeship are laid down in the trust deed. There must be at least three trustees. New trustees are appointed by a resolution passed at a special meeting of the trustees. No other person or external body is entitled to appoint a trustee.
The trustees hold at least two ordinary meetings in each year. The trustees at their first ordinary meeting in each year () must elect one of their number to be chairman of their meetings until the commencement of the first ordinary meeting in the following year. ( - For convenience and practicality, because the 1[st] meeting of the Sounds of Life Trustees does not take place until May of each year, the election of officers for the year following takes place at the November meeting of the Trustees each year - effective 1[st] January following.)
In raising funds the trustees must not undertake any substantial permanent trading activity.
The trustees met twice during 2021 and at both meetings there were full attendances.
The day-to-day work of the Trust is carried out by Mr and Mrs Hunt.
4. Reserves Policy :-
The Trust does not hold any reserve funding whatsoever, but should the situation arise when it seems desirable to do so, the trustees will take advice as to how to go about it from the Charity Commission, Inland Revenue and/or who else it seems appropriate to consult at that time. At that time, a Reserves Policy will be written and put in place based on our findings then. (On many occasions where relatively small amounts of money have not been earmarked for a special purpose by the giver, it has been necessary for Mr & Mrs Hunt to decide as to which part of ministry spend the gift should go to, after which it is treated by everyone as restricted giving to that part of the ministry.)
B. MEETING OUR OBJECTIVES & THE MAIN ACTIVITIES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT CARRIED OUT DURING THE YEAR
Mr & Mrs Hunt’s Main Calling and Ministry - It is very important for all readers of this Annual Report to fully understand what our two main volunteer workers say and show about their main callings in God. Both of them say that to supply to people all over the world who are hungry for it, teaching from the Word of God, the Bible, (both in song as mainly previously but now more in terms of written, sometimes recorded preaching and taught ministry), teaching to help them to move on in God, to mature in Christ and to find their ministry in God and to mature in that too, all of which is found in maturing in understanding the written Word of God in the Bible. It is this that has to be considered as their main service for the Lord , with all other work as it contributes to the forming of the Bride of Christ (ready for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and to the Maturing of the Saints ready for the toughness of the Biblically prophesied End-Times soon to be upon us all, which they both consider themselves called to do), administration, support of the poor overseas etc. being consequential from this, but not of greater importance than this. They consider that this is where their calling is, and together with missions to teach the Word under the anointing of Holy Spirit, is what will be judged against the Lord’s personal calling to them as to its completion (Matthew 7v21-23). It is for this reason that they have been trying for years to find people to do all the Administration, so that they can concentrate on the Word and its promulgation among the nations, to whom they consider themselves called.
As stated in previous years, we want to underline again here the fact that we consider everything the Trust does to be for the benefit of other people, believing that improvement in quality of life will result. Because we believe that the Bible is the most comprehensive handbook of instruction for every human mortal on this planet, studying, reading and implementing its contents must be for everyone who comes to the Bible with a desire to find out what it says and why and therefore must result in good.

SOUNDS OF LIFE - ANNUAL REPORT 2021
The Trustees are aware of the guidance from the Charity Commission on public benefit and have complied with the duty to have due regard to the guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant. We can confirm that there have been no “serious incidents” this year.
-
Mr HUNT - Completion of the Gospel of John and Romans series of full exposition teachings. - Mr Hunt’s work - although held back by major health issues the last almost 4 years, Mr Hunt has used the time arising out of cancelled missions to concentrate on finishing other important work. Therefore it is a delight for us to report this year that the complete John and Romans teaching series in written form are now completed and are available to order from all round the world. The main aims, as with all other Bible teaching is to provide material to bring new and immature Christians to maturity in Christ in a very short space of time, as so much time is no longer available as we approach what must soon be the end of the end-times. No missions have been planned as yet for 2022. It seems sensible to mention here too the huge series of Bible teachings that constitute the Trust’s Discipleship Course. There are 12 modules (10 written by Mr Hunt and two by Mrs Hunt), which will provide the serious student with the quickest route to maturing in Christ and to achieve the potential which such people have in God at as early a stage as possible.
-
MRS HUNT - Work on Colossians etc. Mrs Hunt concentrates on writing material for continuing Kids Connect Clubs worldwide (see also 4 below). These are highly appreciated and the children mature in God as they learn about the Christian life in ways which they both enjoy and find interesting, together with Bible-based games and other good children’s learning methods. Despite a continuing and worsening degenerative back condition, Mrs Hunt is still progressing, although slowly, on a document to cover Paul’s letter to the Colossians, which was preceded by an excellent similar adult teaching on the letter to the Ephesians and we look forward very much to getting our hands on our own personal copies when finished. She is becoming the Trust’s resident expert on the writings of Paul, as she already is on the End-Times and on Spirit, Soul and Body Deliverance Issues [as previously taught by Ellel Ministries]).
-
Appreciation of Flavio G’s work. It is only right and proper that we record here the work that Mr Flavio G. is carrying out in transferring a lot of Mrs Hunt’s teaching to word processed format (produced over many years before she knew anything about laptops and the like!). This is a massive job and we would invite any others who have a desire to help out in this way, to please be in touch.
-
Kids Connect Club (KCC). The work of Kids Connect Clubs is continuing and is being strongly blessed by the Lord in many ways, resulting in youg people of all ages, all over the world making Jesus their Lord, Saviour and Master. For this we give thanks and praise to God. Currently 50 packs of Kids Club material arranged in two sessions bi-monthly.
-
Daily Devotional. Work continues every day by Mr Hunt in this area, and he still works one year ahead. If anything, the anointing on this is increasing even more than previous years. Of course, planning, reading over and printing and photocopying are all extra to the daily job of actually writing it, but having the planning up to this point complete shortens the time spent in writing each day! It is a high commitment job, but there can be no doubt of its spiritual fruitfulness. A pastor in India adds the daily devotional session each morning to the SOL WhatsApp group controlled by Mrs Hunt, and this has seen significant fruit in recent months.
Mr Hunt has finished all writing devotionals for the whole of 2022, and January to December 2023 are already fully planned too, with work already started on planning 2024. Work on writing the full expositions is strongly underway too, with a degree of standardising previous work having been done this year by Mr Hunt, who has grouped Bible books in 8 groups for marketing to Christians worldwide in the future as they are completed.
-
Bibles for Africa Project. As we said on both occasions in the last two years, this is a continuing battle as there are so many who want their own Bibles in Africa, but with the money given, as much as possible is still being done. The small amount of contributions each month is held until sufficient is available to make a valuable contribution of Bibles somewhere in Africa or India.
-
Christian Teaching Preparation and Usage. A little detail on the outline paragraph above, so that the reader is left in no doubt as to the busyness of all that is going on! It is becoming even more precious that Mrs Hunt is gaining such a good knowledge of touch typing and the Word processor package called Microsoft Word 2010 which both Mr and Mrs Hunt use on their Microsoft 7 machines. All her Ephesians teachings have been recorded to CD.
-
Mobile Phone Ministry. This part of the ministry is run by Mrs Hunt, who provides a ministry of help, support, encouragement and praying to all our Partners and others who are involved with the ministry all-round the world who need help in any way at all. It also acts as a Rapid Response contact line for any emergency. Mrs Hunt has remained very busy in the area of mobile phone ministry and many people have been helped, encouraged, with some also receiving new vision for the future through her prophetic gift. It is worth every penny of the cost in terms of benefit to the recipients.

It will also be some years before Mr Hunt has all the CDs of all 10 he has produced of the 12 Discipleship Course Modules (the other two were produced by Mrs Hunt), but it will be well over 100 CDs in total which will make this Course one which will bring the newcomer to maturity in Christ at a very much quicker rate than previously. Mr Hunt will be continuing his work on his full expositions by producing one each for Mark’s gospel and Luke’s gospel next, thereby completing Group 3 of all four Gospels hopefully by the end of 2022.
CD Ministry - Mrs Hunt has been able to produce a CD series of considerable size (Masters = 24 currently) of Kids Connect material which has been received with great joy in both India and Africa. Additional master teaching CDs have been recorded by her this year, but only 6 because of her limited physical ability to sit in one place for a long enough time, bringing the total number of masters now available at year-end to 192.
Despatches this year - Together with other countries receiving Mr and Mrs Hunt’s teaching materials, we now have an access into Ghana which started towards the end of 2020. What follows is the Despatch record for the whole year 2021 :-

We are delighted to report that the vision for free school education in Africa is continuing to grow - School 1 - Amasiri, Nigeria - continues to develop,
School 2 - Eket, Nigeria - is accepting new pupils, School 3 - Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia - is growing with more additional pupils, School 4 - Okongoyong, Bakassi, Cameroon - has added a second classroom, School 5 - Ibaka, Nigeria - Looking for a new Headmaster to take it forward,
School 6 - Mufulira, Zambia - a new school shop project started in December and opens the first class of 40 pupils in January 2022 under the Headmaster Pastor Richard L.
School 7 - The Barracks, Cameroon - opened using the Church Hall in September. Both Cameroon schools are headed up by Rev Ememobong E and are funded by the crayfish project which, like the other school projects, was initially funded by Sounds of Life.
School 8 - Bumbuna, Sierra Leone, has 19 pupils waiting to start their education. The school shop project is being prepared and is expected to open early in 2022; once this is running with a profit, the next stage will be to find a suitable building for the school. This whole school project is being overseen by Rev Isaac with the headmaster being Pastor Daniel S.
To have 8 schools in various stages of running and preparation to run within three years of Mrs Hunt receiving the vision for them from the Lord is absolutely wonderful.
SHORT REPORTS ON ALL THE PEOPLE WE HAVE HELPED BOTH IN THE PAST AND IN THE PRESENT -
(how they have managed this year and what has happened to them - or as much as we know at year-end.)
Because the Trust’s aims are wholly for the spiritual advancement of the kingdom of God, we help to meet the physical needs of only those who are making valuable contributions to that advancement and need this physical help to keep going with the spiritual work. We make sure that they are assisting us in fulfilling the aims and objectives of the Trust in what they are doing. Towards the end of 2020, Mr and Mrs Hunt undertook an exercise to try to help previous recipients to become

self-sustaining by financing them to set up projects to achieve this. It has been very successful and is coming to full fruition at year-end 2021.
In the following record of happenings in these people’s lives over the last 12 months, we start with a short introduction to record how we started to relate to them and the why of everything we do and all we seek to do to help them and what that is. We hope that you will be very blessed to know what is going on and will stand with us as people who seriously want the betterment of every man and woman on earth as they come to know and understand all that The Great Shepherd of the Sheep has written for us to learn and mature in Him and to live better and more holy and sanctified lives.
The order in which we put these below has absolutely no relevance at all, but we try to make sure that the kingdom of God is advanced in the way we help them to do what they do.
African Contacts
a) Rev Collins E . This gentleman, a fully-qualified Minister, comes from Cameroon, a country that borders Nigeria. He met Pastor Elias whilst Elias was working as a missionary in Cameroon. They are now great friends and Pastor Collins works in both countries. Elias invites him to speak at crusade meetings at the SOL church in Amasiri and he also supports Elias at baptisms in the river. Pastor Collins’ ministry is to the displaced Christians, the refugees in Cameroon but also to those who have fled across the border with Nigeria as a result of the war in Cameroon. He receives SOL Discipleship Modules which he uses to teach adults during a daily session. He runs KCCs in both countries. The material is the only educational material that the children receive, since they cannot go to school because the poverty levels of their families.
This year, Rev Collins had a very busy January as Headmaster of the SOL International English/French Academy in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria (School 2). Due to covid-19, exams, normally held in December were delayed until January and the 1[st] term of the year didn’t finish until 23[rd] January. Much learning, as currently in UK too, has had to be done in home schooling. Teachers have been busy writing out lessons, getting them photocopied and distributed to the children in their homes (no computers or tablets etc. here!) Ahead of the January exams, the school building had to be fumigated.
Shop Project - Collins has been searching for suitable premises to rent for the shop - now found, shop opened in April, selling domestic bottled gas for cooking.
Ibaka Refugee Camp - Missionary Emmanuel (one of the Academy’s teachers) visits another refugee camp in Akwa Ibom State. He takes teaching materials and runs a KCC meeting there with Collins when he is available. The children have had no schooling for 3-4 years.
The Paramount Chief of this area has been so impressed with the work of Sounds of Life Ministries that he wrote a letter of appreciation on 7[th] January. He has requested that a SOL Academy school be established here for the children of the Ibaka community. He has offered a sum of about £200 as a contribution towards this and also has given a building, rent-free, for the school.
Another lady who received healing at one of Collins crusades, has given the school some musical instruments and a PA system. Rev Collins will also be headmaster of this school too. It is estimated that setting up such a school for the 200 pupils would be around £2300, which would need a project to finance it, for the future as well. A Poultry farm will be ready to start, once all the money has been found, to which SOL made a donation of £906 a little while back - total estimated at a cost of about £2000 for an initial 200 chickens. Mrs Hunt has carried out a partial fast for 6 months to help to raise money for the project and the school. There are already 5 teachers available for when the school starts. (This will be school 5!)
Collins’ wife Agnes - Agnes received some money from SOL to buy a mobile phone after hers was damaged, so that she could be in touch with her husband and so that he could speak to his two children. Instead of using the money for what it had been sent, she put it into her business, which she uses to pay off her huge hospital bill, which has put her under a lot of pressure.
This has meant that there has been no communication between her and Collins since he left to come back to Nigeria in October 2020, until very recently when Agnes had bought a new phone. Collins takes no wage from anyone, so he is unable to afford the transport costs (bus and ferry) to go home to Cameroon which has increased in price significantly in recent weeks. Agnes is still going for check-ups to the hospital twice a week.
The Eket School (No 2) - Because it was illegal for Collins to sleep in the school, he had to acquire a 1-bedroom apartment which is ideal.
Early in the year, the school, was second in a Bible-reading competition and received 50 sportswear kits and 50 outfits of school uniform. The waiting list for the school now stands at 20!
Nine refugee children were put on a fishing boat on 1[st] April, travelling from war-torn Cameroon to Nigeria, which was met at Eket port by Rev. Collins. He was asked to take the three youngest children when the boat arrived at 10pm. The three children, who are brothers and sisters in the same family, had seen the French-speaking soldiers kill their father, and their mother had rushed back into the bush after putting the children on the boat, so they had to be fed and next morning Collins took them to the clinic to be checked out - all three had malaria and typhoid - Collins stayed with them in hospital - his was the only face they knew in Nigeria. The Paramount Chief transferred money to Collins’ account to pay the hospital bill.

Having been discharged from hospital on 3[rd] April, the three children stayed with Collins until they were well and strong again. God is using Collins to be a father to many abandoned children. He is a very caring person and represents the work of SOL in that area. The children were taken to the refugee camp subsequently, which exists on land given for the purpose by the Nigerian Government; they did not provide any food and great hunger exists there. Mosquito nets are also needed to protect the children at night. The children need food and clothes and schooling. They have been traumatised by the civil war in Cameroon.
Free schooling in the SOL Academy will give them stability and hope for the future. We thank everyone for their sponsorship - the need is huge.
The Ibaka School (No 5) - The Poultry farm was almost ready to start, when the following took place on Friday 16[th] April, Collins was attacked by three armed robbers at 10pm with cutlass and guns, and forced entry to his home by putting a gun to his head; they stole his new phone, all his clothes were taken and money he had just drawn out from the bank for poultry farm payments. He refused to give them his bank card, so they beat him round the legs with the cutlass. Despite the severity of the injuries, he would not give them his SOL bank account details.
Collins had been in hospital for three days and the doctor had given him some clothes - he was having daily injections to avoid blood clots forming for a lengthy period after the attack. He has suffered a lot of pain and found it hard to walk for a long time.
He had a doctor’s bill of £67 to pay, together with new clothes to buy, altogether money required = £584, including the lost poultry farm money. We are indebted to the four partners who gave very generously to cover the majority of this sum, the total of which was sent by bank transfer on 20[th] April. Collins has been a key figure in the advancement of the kingdom of God in Nigeria.
Later in May, we learnt of the Threat posed by Biafra Boys (a group of armed men) on the Eket school due to violent activity nearby - as well as what is reported above, the Biafra Boys had attacked four schools and shot four policemen - the army had been brought in and all schools had to close and children and staff sent home. SOL has funded the spend on two armed police officers and the Chief has been very generous in his help with everything else. We heard on 18[th] May that he is funding the building of the security hut, so that leaves SOL to fund the purchase of the generator to power up the security CCTV system of four cameras which will be supplied and installed by local government. The two TV screens will be bought by the Chief. Fortunately no one in the school has been hurt. Because of the high cost of funding the two armed police officers, we have been unable to help the Amasiri school in the same way.
On 4[th] July, health and safety Inspectors visited the school and they said that certain additions would be required - fire extinguishers, fire detector, alarm systems, sand for the playground, two jangolova and an extra toilet. Again the Paramount Chief helped with some of the cost. Two extra classrooms are being created/built, to accommodate the expected new intake of pupils in September. Permission for all this was required and acquired from the owner of the property.
The school Shop Project for the Eket school, selling domestic gas bottles and associated equipment for cooking is going well with good trading and during his recuperation, Collins was able to spend time there.
Agnes, Collins’ wife, has raised all the money for her daughter Sophie’s hospitalisation, where she was recovering from a fractured knee. Collins was also contacted by Agnes to let him know that the authorities had closed her shop for nonpayment of taxes over the last two years.
Most of the work done by Rev Collins is reported here under Pastor Elias when he visited Eket to oversee all that was taking place. Collins has introduced the teaching of French in the SOL International English/French Academy. This has been a great asset to the school and its pupils, since many of the children have come from war-torn Cameroon , where many people speak both English and French. Collins himself is fluent in French, since his wife Agnes is French speaking.
In September the school accepted 50 new nursery-aged children. This has increased the cost of equipping the school since the local government charges a tax for each new pupil. There are more tables and chairs needed and more Pupil Workbooks.
The Eket school shop, selling domestic gas bottles, is continuing to do well and has been set up for the purpose of providing money for running the school. At the moment Collins oversees the running of the school and sells in the shop during the day. Once the shop is well-established, he hopes to find someone reliable and trustworthy to work in it. Nurse Mary continues to care for the medical wellbeing of the children as well as the staff. Update on the Ibaka School Situation
The distance between Eket and Ibaka is long and the mud-earth roads of Nigeria take even longer. For this reason Elias and Collins decided it would not be practical for Collins to oversee both schools, as well as the Ibaka project. They suggested that Missionary Emmanuel should be given the job of taking the project forward. He accepted this in September, but, just one month later, he demanded a year’s salary from SOL. Considering that SOL has no paid workers (everyone, including Mr & Mrs Hunt, is a volunteer, but every so often when funds permit, SOL sends a “love gift” to help with the provision of food for our volunteers) a whole year’s salary is not possible. Emmanuel has withdrawn his services. The Ibaka school is therefore “On hold” at the moment.
Late Update on the Eket School, Nigeria - December 2021
At the start of the autumn school term, Collins was expressing a desire to return to Douala, Cameroon, to visit his wife and children. He had not been able to go home for over a year, due to the setting up of the SOL Academy in Eket and the

covid-19 restrictions. We felt that we should release him to return home for an indefinite period. At Christmas. We received greetings from Collins, but no indication of when, or even if, he would return to Nigeria.
Rev Emem lived only one hour’s drive from Eket and therefore was far better placed to give the school oversight, rather than Pastor Elias. (Emem also oversees two SOL schools in Cameroon). He was happy to take on this task with his wife Rosemary, recently qualified as a teacher, taking on the position of head-mistress. All the other teachers have continued as normal.
- - b) Refugee Pastor from Cameroon Now working in Nigeria Known to all of us as Pastor Elias O. (one of the busiest ministry partners associated with the Sounds of Life organisation!) Mr & Mrs Hunt were introduced to Pastor Elias again by Rev Ememobong E, who was one of the latter’s pastor’s at the time, while working on mission in Cameroon where Rev Ememobong E also has established ministry. Due to the forthcoming civil war in Cameroon, Pastor Elias and his wife and family were forced to flee Cameroon and return to Nigeria where they came from in the first place.
This year, Elias had been in hospital, suffering with Malaria, but was discharged on 4[th] January and returned home. On 16[th] January, the burial of Elias’s deceased mother was held with Rev Collins and Evangelist Emmanuel from Eket speaking at both the burial service and the Sunday service at the church in Amasiri. Nine members of Elias’s immediate family were present. The custom is to feed and accommodate family members for two weeks. At the Sunday service, where Collins was the speaker, eleven people received salvation! Over this funeral weekend, three of Elias’s four children went down with Malaria. SOL was able to transfer some money to Elias for the medicine needed.
On 22[nd] January, Elias was informed that the Government was requiring the school to increase its supply of text books especially Science books, in all Departments, Primary to Secondary. The Community Shop would fund the cost. One of the school children had died from malaria.
On 13[th] May, it was reported that army officers were in the area after the “Biafra Boys” had attacked the area. The Police Station had been burned down and a petrol station had been attacked. Although called to an emergency meeting by the Minister of Education, Elias considered it too dangerous to go. He asked to be excused and to receive an update afterwards, which was that all schools should pay for two military men to guard each premises - one inside, the other outside. If the cost was going to be similar to Eket, then SOL would not be able to afford it, especially considering that the Amasiri school has three buildings requiring four military men. Instead the school would close and teachers would prepare and take round to homes lessons every other day. On the evening before this meeting, Elias had reported that gunfire was heard and violence had continued in the area around Amasiri.
Later in the year, we learnt that Pastor Elias is working hard running the SOL Academy (School 1) and, up until recently, two SOL churches in the area, but now has received some serious help from Pastor Monday who is new out of Bible College, who is looking after the 2[nd] church in Ndukwe.
The rebuild of the School has begun; it is an ambitious project but together, we can achieve it. Basically, we need to find £4000 each year for ten years, but we want to complete it well before the ten year period is up. Once completed, SOL will not have to go on finding rent for the three buildings currently occupied by the school and all the children will be present on one site - much more practical. Ground for the new school has been given and foundations are being dug. The assembly Hall in the new building will also be used by the Amasiri SOL church. This is an exciting long-term project, but one that God is already blessing.
As with Collins (see below), the “Biafra Boys” have been causing problems in Amasiri - all schools have been closed and have not been allowed to reopen unless armed security officers are present, four of which are needed for School 1 and a hut was needed for them too.
The Community Shop is now doing well enough to fund the annual rents on all three school buildings and the shop rent too. Endurance, Elias’ s wife, is very much involved with running the shop supported by a group of volunteers.
However, the business of Agnes’ shop being closed by the authorities raised the matter of other school projects having taken action to put aside money for taxes. Firstly, Mr Hunt had mentioned it as an item to be checked up on when opening a new business in his notes on this subject sent to all those who would be starting projects for self-sustainability, but it appears that Elias didn’t know about this until January 2021, but then did not tell us or anybody and failed to arrange for any funds to be ring-fenced for this from the Community shop supporting the Amasiri school. His wife Endurance has since been informed that the shop would be closed 3 days after that time. However, eventually, these shop taxes have also been paid on the shop business, so it remains open and functioning.
The Amasiri school continues to flourish and the end of summer term concluded with a celebration graduation party for the pupils in the nursery classes. They were kitted out in gowns and mortar boards, and the whole school was present as well as the proud parents.
In September, Pastor Elias visited Rev. Collins in Eket. As overseer, it was good for him to see first-hand all the work that Rev Collins had been doing. He inspected the SOL English/French Academy and was impressed by the two-storey building and the classrooms for the 106 pupils. He was able to see the CCTV cameras and the new playground laid with sand.

Pastor Elias met nurse Mary and was updated by her concerning the armed robbery and the wounds which were inflicted on Collins with the subsequent hospital visit and operations. Elias was able to visit the Eket School Shop, and saw the gas bottles for domestic use on sale.
Accompanied by Missionary Emmanuel, Elias travelled to Ibaka and saw the poultry farm site. They spoke to the Chief of Ibaka and learned of the support he is giving the project. The long-term goal would be that the Poultry farm would provide the money needed to start a SOL Academy for the Ibaka refugees who had fled the war in Cameroon.
Shortly after the visit, all the remaining items were bought to complete the poultry farm which included the first 175 chicks. Missionary Emmanuel was appointed to look after the project.
-
Elias also visited Chief Ita at his palace in Eket and heard about the proposed purchase of the Eket school building. Just before Elias was due to return to Amasiri, he suffered from severe pain due to a stomach ulcer. Collins took him
-
to the local hospital where he received treatment.
-
When he was well enough to return to Amasiri, Collins accompanied him and was able to assist him in holding a pre-
-
planned Youth meeting. Collins preached the Word at the meeting and 29 people received Christ. PTL!
The Amasiri Academy new term started on 13[th] September and SOL Partners had raised enough money to pay for the
4 armed security guards for one month that were required to protect the school from the “Biafra Boys (Indigenous People of Biafra - IPOB). The Nigerian authorities have insisted that all schools should have armed guards to protect the children, at a cost of £602 each month. This has been a real burden on SOL finances.
-
A crusade at a sister church in a village near Amasiri, where Missionary Emmanuel preached, was a great success and
-
saw 13 people saved.
On 13[th] September, Elias took a motorbike taxi and there was a serious accident that evening. Although this took place on the Monday, we were not given any details regarding Elias’ injuries until Saturday 18[th] . Deacon Emmanuel talked to the doctor that day and was told that Elias’ injuries were to his back and both his hands; he also needed some eye surgery as well. The total cost of the treatment was estimated to be £3534 (N1,710,000). Mrs Hunt sent out a Prayer Request to SOL Partners and friends. Having recently sent a large amount of money to Elias for the Security Officers at SOL Academy and for the new building and to pay for Elias’ stomach ulcer treatment, the SOL Amasiri Academy account was empty of funds. Some SOL Partners donated towards the medical costs and he is now up and working again.
c) Five-Fold Christian Church (FFCC), Zambia - Bishop George M. and wife Jenny - We met George whilst working with a different George in 2013 - George S. We spent a lovely couple of days with him on his farm, a time that will not be forgotten for its godliness and holiness in the firelight both evenings.
This year, on 16[th] January, George M texted to say that Jenny’s health had improved and the doctors were considering an operation when she was strong enough.
Saladi House Project (to finance School 3) - (16[th] January) - The building is now ready for its iron roof sheets, but George still has to buy the tank, 10 roof sheets, 10 bags of cement for plastering walls and the floor and the first supply of saladi.
Unfortunately, on 22[nd] January the rains came before the roof could be fixed, causing the front face of the building to collapse. George was concentrating on buying cement to repair the damage. We were asked to pray about this, as the saladi House project must be underway and making profit before preparations for the full school can be put in place.
Jenny is still very unwell, as she battles continuing cancer problems with tumours behind her right ear and over the right eye. She has suffered with memory loss (16.04.21) and had difficulty standing. She has been to a private doctor who is trying to melt both tumours with drugs. On 17.4.21, she returned home with her mind still intact. She has been advised to eat only vegetables and no meat. She is suffering from fatigue and needs to eat more to regain her strength.
We were asked again to pray for Jenny as she has been suffering for over three years and it’s time George had a bit of an easier time of it too; he is juggling so many balls at once, it is difficult to see how he manages it all, including the building of their new school in Kapiri Mposhi - the saladi house which will be the main school funding project is coming on well and we hope to hear sometime in the not-too-far-distant future that business has begun.
Very encouragingly, we have received a report on the mission back in October 2020, when George used Mr Hunt’s teaching on Discipleship Modules 11 and 12 on the subject of leadership to 25 leaders (limited by coronavirus restriction on numbers). The report says that the delegates were deeply amazed at the knowledge they acquired from the materials taught. They thanked God for giving such insights to Mr Hunt from the Word. They said that they were now confident to stand and be used by Holy Spirit to speak His mind in all situations. Their cry to God was that such conferences as this one should continue. They wanted to thank all who put their efforts into making this a success - it was a big success indeed!
Later in the year, we heard that George continues to expand the plantation, bought for him by SOL several years ago. He was planting 215 banana tree plants, rising to 300 by the end of May. George continues to receive the Daily Devotionals and other teaching materials from us, which he copies for his Pastors.
He was nominated as a Counsellor for local government, but was not elected. He is the Headmaster of the SOL Academy, Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia (School 3), which is progressing slowly. The school is situated in a rural area, near to where Bishop George lives, and provides free education for 25 children at the moment, but the number of children is growing and

money has been sent to purchase more Teacher text books and pupil work books, pens and chalk for the start of the September 2021 term. The school follows the Zambia Education Curriculum. The saladi House which will fund the school is not yet completed, but we hope it will be soon; it is hoped that this will finance the school - it requires the drum to make the cooking oil (£400) and its connection to the electricity supply (£200). We hope that it will be possible to increase the number of pupils too when the project gets started. Money has been sent recently by SOL to get the mains electricity connected and for purchase of the drum.
Jenny’s battle against cancer continues, as she is living with her family in Lusaka where she can receive treatment. George was behind with the payments and the doctor had stopped the medication. His challenge is that the payment is not a single one-off payment but continuous payments to fight the cancer. We understand from a late update that Jenny is due for an operation on January 19[th] 2022. It is with a heavy heart that we add this final sentence to what had already been written about George & Jenny; George’s text, received early on Christmas Eve told us that Jenny had gone to her eternal reward in the very early hours of the morning - Mr & Mrs Hunt had obviously been selected to be one of the earliest to be informed, for which they feel very honoured. The funeral took place on 27[th] December and the burial on 28[th] .
d) Ememobong E . Emem was one of Mr & Mrs Hunt’s earliest new friends from Africa, having been introduced to them by Ray O., the Jungle Missionary at the first of his mission conferences at which Mr & Mrs Hunt had been the speakers. Over the years we have supported Emem in prayer and financially, but several years back, when it appeared to us that he was doing very well, we decided that in the best interest of others who were more needy, that we withdraw our financial support for him, although he still receives our teaching on paper and CDs and he uses it in his meetings and conferences etc., particularly the Discipleship Course. He also runs Kids Connect Clubs in his churches.
This year, Emem had his phone stolen in the early days of the New Year, but has managed to retrieve the number, so was using his wife Rosemary’s phone until recently. He needed a phone which Sounds of Life provided. The new Bakassi Academy (School 4) in Cameroon needed money for the Registration Fee, which had been sent in December 2020 and was received in January this year. Once this was paid, the school was officially opened the 2[nd] week in January. More classrooms need to be built to accommodate up to 100 children, which is continuing and there is great excitement among the community, which is called Okongoyong.
The whole Bakassi community in Cameroon is united in getting this SOL free school up and running - they are busy building and getting everything ready. Rev Emem received a gift of 5 cartons of medication to put into the drinking water - vital in an area where everyone lives above the swamp which runs with every kind of animal and insect you can imagine. The initial inspection of the school, which took place in October, went through satisfactorily.
The crayfish business is running well, so well, in fact, that they have afforded to give the teachers some money for their services. Glory! Update - May 2021 - Work on the second classroom building is due to commence any day now.
Later in the year, we were able to report that Emem continues working hard in overseeing churches in both Nigeria and Cameroon. He is also Headmaster of SOL Academy (School 4 - Okongoyong) in Bakassi, Cameroon over the swamp land. SOL has enabled another classroom to be constructed on stilts over the swamp! (When commuting between Cameroon and Nigeria, he takes a speedboat - which Mr & Mrs Hunt have been on - up the river.)
Although earlier in the year, we understood that the crayfish business was going well, we have just learnt that the crayfish project, set up to help support the school financially, has been very badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The school has been, and is being, built over the swampland and is situated in a jungle region. The houses have been built by the villagers and they are involved in the building of the school too, which makes use of reeds that grow in the swamp area and is built on stilts above the swamp, as is everything else there. Pathways are by wooden planks and conditions are very poor.
There was no education for the children of the village until this school was started by Emem; it has two classrooms currently with two teachers, wooden benches and tables. It follows the Cameroon Education curriculum. Education brings hope for a future for the children and the village. Grateful thanks to those SOL partners who give monthly to the school. We hope and pray that the crayfish business gets going again very soon.
(See also Late Update on the Eket School under (a) above.)
- e) Nigerian Economic Crisis Helping the Poor
Basic food prices have continued to rise substantially over the coronavirus lockdown period, thereby creating great hardship for the people. We are grateful to the SOL Partners who faithfully continue to support this need.
1. Rev. Gideon A., Nigeria (of The Christian Faith Salvation Mission, Calabar, Cross River State) - Mr & Mrs Hunt were introduced to Rev. A by Rev. Ememobong E who Mr & Mrs Hunt were working with at the time on mission.

Page 12
This year, we understand that his work in helping the poor is still continuing and reaping fruit for the kingdom of God. He is now a member of the SOL WhatsApp group.
2. Village Missionary and Pastor in Nigeria - John A. John was first introduced to Mr & Mrs Hunt when they worked with the Jungle Missionary, Ray O. in 2005. He was living with Ray and Ray’s wife, Esther. They met John each time there was a SOL Mission with Ray, so a good relationship with him was built up over those years.
Much has happened since then and John is now an established pastor and missionary in a different part of Nigeria, Ondo State, is married with three children. John recently emailed SOL thanking all the Partners for their financial support for food, enabling him to keep going on his ministry to the church and to see local people born again of the Spirit of God.
He uses SOL KCC and Discipleship Modules in his church and has introduced these materials to local pastors. The children and church members are growing spiritually.
John has permission to evangelise in some local primary and secondary schools, speaking to hundreds of students.
Benefit, John’s wife, has the opportunity to take her “mobile shop”, set up in the first place by SOL, into a local college, to supply students with snacks and cold drinks.
This year, John replied to the letter informing him of our intention to help him become self-sustaining as follows - “On behalf of my family we wish to appreciate your kind love, care and support. We lack words to express our feelings and appreciation to you both and the entire Sounds of Life Trust. What we have to say is that God will bless you and reward you all bountifully. Your labour for the Lord will not be in vain. As you have helped to elevate us and our ministry from where we were struggling to survive and to meet up with our missionary assignments, we pray that you will be rewarded beyond your expectations. And at last, God’s grace will keep and preserve you all and make you rapturable.
We are so much happy with your great gift and support - we will do everything possible to manage the computer school well and to keep you abreast of the latest information about how it is run.
Thanks and God bless. Regards to Daddy Peter and others
John & Benefit”
In a later email, John provided us with a list of everything they have done to improve the computer school and Benefit’s small business with the self-sufficiency money we sent. Later in the year, John continued to run his Computer Studies business and Benefit, his wife, has a successful mobile shop.
The situation in Ondo State where they live, is becoming progressively more dangerous, with robberies and kidnapping and police brutality against civilians.
John receives regular despatches from SOL - Discipleship Modules, Ann’s Booklets, Daily Devotionals by Mr Hunt and Kids Connect sessions. He passes copies to other pastors in his area.
The computer school is progressing well and Benefit’s mobile shop is getting more customers. Praise the Lord for the fact that children in the Kids Connect Club are growing spiritually because of the teaching from “Mama Ann”.
The church people are building a new building very slowly because funds are lacking, to replace the old one which was built by John and is well past its best-by date, leaking during bad weather, as a result of which some members have left, but those remaining are maturing in Christ from the teaching provided by SOL.
John and Benefit are considering moving to the capital city of Abuja. John wants to extend further into mission work. He has enrolled in with the International Association for Mission work based in Abuja. The plan is to resign from their present position in 2022. John has been attending the mission school every weekend since June 2021, Friday to Sunday. He has asked our advice on this new move. In a recently received update from John, we have heard that this is going ahead: John wants to continue the Computer School and his wife Benefit’s shop business when they move to the Abuja area.
Finally, we have heard recently too that their youngest son, Daniel, has been suffering from blockage in his nose. He is due to go to Abuja for an operation.
f) Youth Achievers International Home (YAIH), Kampala, Uganda - Praise & Moses M - The phone on the office desk
rang the second day we had our brand new website up and this softly spoken female voice said “Hello, is that Sounds of Life”. That way is how our relationship with Praise N. of YAIH began and is now in full blossom! Praise is busy bringing up 36 children off the streets of the towns around where she used to live and where she has lived since and her own two twin toddlers too, who were two years old in February this year. What a godly thing to do - making Christians out of the difficult things that children on the streets end up being - and let us tell you - they are - every one of them - absolutely lovely - it’s what living in a Godly atmosphere all day every day makes you into! Praise the Lord! How do we know? Answer: because Mr and Mrs Hunt had a chance to go over there to do missions organised by Praise, firstly in 2010, (when both Mr and Mrs Hunt caught dengue fever - never again!) and again in 2018 where they were all a lot more grown up and even more godly - what a testimony she has in them!
This year, Praise and Moses’ twins celebrated their 2[nd] Birthdays on 2[nd] February and their own Wedding Anniversary just prior on 25[th] January! The Presidential election took place on 14[th] January, but it is unclear who won - the opposition

candidate - Bobby Wine - was claimed to have won, but the current President, who has been in power for 35 years, put him under house arrest and claimed the victory himself, leading to riots involving the opposition supporters which was being quelled by police and military who were killing the opposition supporters. By 16[th] January, the government had cut off electricity across the whole country and blocked the internet - the current President, Museveni, had refused to leave office.
Praise & Moses took the children to the border with Kenya from where they could access the internet and keep in touch with what was going on. As things got worse, they crossed into Kenya, but received no help from the authorities there. They managed to find a cheap Guest House and paid lodging for them all until the end of January. But they needed money for food and possible extension of the Guest House booking. We launched an appeal which was very well responded to, raising £335, which, together with the normal food money for February, making £540 in total was sent, which, after bank fees had been taken, would mean they would receive about £500. The trustees were grateful to all those who responded. They returned on 3[rd] February. (People are being kidnapped by Government agencies and the president has been taken to court for stealing votes.)
We have no recent update on Praise and the children, except that they have all recovered from coronavirus and we have also heard that Moses is now fully returned to good health too, after SOL provided the wherewithal for them to get proper medicine for him.

g) Graduate Student, Nigeria - Ambre N . When you first go to Africa and you get out of the tourist areas and out into the jungle and other “wild” parts that you see how Africa really is and how poor some of the people really are. It touches your heart as it did with Mr & Mrs Hunt on their first visit in 2005 to the Jungle Missionary and his organisation in the jungle village of Butatong and they have never been the same again! This is where they met Ambre N.
This year, early on, Ambre found two possible shop buildings, but the 2[nd] one which was rented at N280,000 yearly was rejected because it had no toilet and there were two other shops selling electrical parts and gadgets nearby. Shop 1, at an annual rent charge of N350,000, is near a public toilet but there are problems with the electric power; the shop would be connected to a transformer which reduces the mains voltage down to a lower voltage for the area. The people in the area would use the lower voltage and have generators as well, but the power supply is not reliable so Ambre would need a generator as well for back-up. There were no other shops in the area selling electrical goods and it looks like a safe area. Ambre was continuing to look for other shop buildings through the Agent, where the domestic houses use mains electricity. This would give him the right kind of customer base for his electrical goods.
In the summer and early Autumn, we were able to report that Ambre’s shop has been a long-time opening due to many factors including coronavirus and social unrest in the country. However, the premises for the shop have now been found and rented and it has a good space inside. It is in an excellent area of the town in a large shopping complex. Ambre had to go to Lagos to order his goods to sell, which threw up another problem in the additional cost of transporting the goods to the shop. All costs have now been paid and the goods are ready to be delivered, and to be followed by the opening of the shop.
In October, Ambre was fully engaged in running his shop selling electrical goods. The shop has been registered with the appropriate authorities. He has been tasked to find out the tax band in which the shop is placed, and he will be putting money aside each month for the tax bill in a year’s time. The registration of the shop involves an inspection and a certificate of approval. (We have had no update on the completion of Ambre’s mother’s house.)
Recently, Ambre has done some electrical installations for some customers. Trade and business is slow and there are some days when he has no customers.
h) Sierra Leone Would-Be Mission Host - Apostle Abraham S. This gentleman, although not met yet by Mr & Mrs Hunt, has been selected by Ray O. as local mission host for when they do their first mission in Sierra Leone, which was hoped will be 2021, but had to be cancelled again. A good relationship, based on healing prayer for Mr Hunt’s sickness, is already being built up between Sounds of Life and the local church personnel headed up by this gentlemen, who receives regular teaching despatches and Kids Connect Club issues for his various churches. (As reported above, there is to be another SOL free-school started in Sierra Leone, making it four African countries, which now will have Sounds of Life Free Academy Schools.)
- i) Jungle Missionary Ray O.
This is the man who started off Mr and Mrs Hunt’s overseas ministry by inviting them to the jungle back in 2005, but he has developed his own ministry since our paths separated back in 2009. But Mr & Mrs Hunt have never lost their desire to work with Ray again, but this has been prevented by both Mr and Mrs Hunt’s sickness states and the coronavirus pandemic.
It is good to report from the last update from them that they are both fully well and the coronavirus has not reached their village yet.

Indian Contacts
a) House of Blessing Churches, Kukatpally, HYDERABAD, India - ( Run by Pastor Andrew G and his wife Theja .) Mr & Mrs Hunt first met Andrew when he was one of their interpreters when they did a mission in 2007 with Brother A. Joseph (see below). We were able to first work with Andrew in his church in 2013,which was a joy-filled time with much blessing and the hand of God on us and them so very much.
There have been no developments on the court case again this year about some Hindus attacking church members and until there is, nothing more will be added. As we reported last year, we have decided to leave the matter with Andrew, to let us know when anything significant to do with the case changes or the case actually does come up in court. We will let the Prayer Partnership and others know for prayer support at that time.
This year, Andrew reported by email that they are all well and safe from coronavirus. During February & March they had daily prayers for the protection in the church. He said that the court issue may be settled in a few days - nothing heard since. He said that Mr and Mrs Hunt had blessed them spiritually so much over the years and they continue to influence their lives. On the Easter weekend they held services on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday and three church members went through the waters of baptism.
India’s second wave of coronavirus was spreading across India, and where they are in the Hyderabad area, Telangana State, it was serious. Despite this, later reports told us that the whole family, including little Serah Johanna, is keeping well. The main church in Kukatpally has adjusted to the rigours of coronavirus restrictions, but the village churches are receiving opposition from local governments and, therefore, it seemed to be unrealistic in August to go on trying to fulfil the vision for an orphanage. Andrew and his wife Theja are the subject of much persecution because they are Christians - this is the same for Christians throughout India.
The two orphan boys who are living in the House of Blessing Annex, have completed one year of Bible College. They have started to work in Christian ministry.
In the House of Blessing Church, after the covid-19 lockdown, only 2/3[rds] of the members have returned to church
services.
Throughout India, there are daily attacks on Christians. Andrew has asked that we pray for their safety.
In June 2022, Andrew and Theja are planning to send their daughter Serah - currently two years old and doing very well - to Nursery School. They have requested prayer for her protection and for provision of the Nursery School.
Both Andrew & Theja have sent their love and prayers to SOL Trustees and Partners.
We want to record here that Andrew is putting Mr Hunt’s daily devotional on the WhatsApp SOL group each and every day. Since then, Mrs Hunt has amalgamated all four SOL WhatsApp groups into one and therefore all 31 people get the daily devotional to read on their smart phones every day, together with what else people on that group want to share with everyone else. We are indebted to Andrew for doing this, making it possible for other people to read the devotional on their smart phones every day.
b) Pastor David - Bonghir. Pastor David was first introduced to Mr & Mrs Hunt when they were doing a mission in Hyderabad India which he attended in 2007. He now runs adult seminars of his own using the teaching material produced by Mr & Mrs Hunt. If they ever have another chance to do a mission to India, it is their firm desire to work with this man of God, who is an absolutely 100% committed brother in Christ and we give God thanks for the ministry he is doing which is yielding great fruit. We are blessed to be a small part of it.
Following on from his way of publicising our work, and with the Missions Mr and Mrs Hunt carried out in Zambia and Uganda, many more people have signed up to receive Discipleship Modules, Daily Devotionals and other teaching, including written and recorded versions of what they teach. Alongside all this, other recipients continue to receive teaching, both in UK and overseas, all of which contributes to the spiritual maturing of those who study them.
Pastor David is just starting receiving the Discipleship Course, having previously taught from our other teachings at his half-yearly Pastors meetings. David’s seminars usually for pastors and church workers run twice a year, but due to coronavirus the October/November one has had to be postponed. Despite the severe rate of infection across India, David and his family have kept well. He continues to work amongst the village people and runs a number of KCCs.
This year, we have heard little from Pastor David. All we do know is that the coronavirus pandemic has caused him to limit his work more and he has still been unable to do the usual leadership seminars using our teaching materials. He also has been very unwell with a serious urinary tract infection.

SOUNDS OF LIFE - ANNUAL REPORT 2021
The Future of Sounds of Life Overseas Missions .
No missions have taken place since Mr and Mrs Hunt came home from a very successful one in Tanzania in 2019, during which Mr Hunt’s skin cancer grew some more. Since his radio therapy in September that year, he has not been well enough to travel long distances, and during this period his wife has also deteriorated physically, to the point where it will take a God-sourced miracle healing power in both their lives for missions to be seriously restarted, So, this is where we leave this subject until we have good reports of their health significantly improving.
C. FINANCIAL REVIEW & OFFICE FUNCTIONS AND THEIR PRACTICALITIES
Accounts (see Accounts presented at Pages 17-21). The accounts this year have, once again, been independently examined by Mr Patrick Bean F.C.C.A., and his report is attached at Page 22. We ended the year with an underspend of £4678.46 which has been aided this year by the refund of air tickets to a value of £2110.94. The amount of Gift Aid claimable now stands at £5880.60, which is excellent as we have only 12 Finance Partners who have declared their gifts to be eligible for Gift Aid after having lost our second best giver, Mrs Hawkyard after only one month’s donations in April.
Social Media - Mr and Mrs Hunt’s views on Social media have remain unchanged - they are still convinced that it is not a good IT development tool and should be got rid of very quickly or, if that is not possible, it must be the subject of heavy legislation with strong convictions and meaningful sentences. Because these things are not happening in anything like the timescale they would consider good, they will, therefore, continue to maintain an adamant stance against its use.
Translation Software - The original reason for looking at the possibility of purchasing or using translation software was instigated in the belief that local people abroad might find it easier to have Mr and Mrs Hunt’s teaching in their own language. We have learned that often the teachings would lose some of their meaning when subjected to the translation software. It has therefore been decided to drop this subject from Trust business from now on, even though it would be ideal for people to receive the teachings in their own languages.
Work on Trust Policies - During the year, the Trust has reviewed the necessary Trust policies, including quite a large amendment to the Safeguarding Policy, on which the Chairman had done a lot of work - all his proposals were accepted.
D. SUMMARY OF MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE YEAR 2021
The Trustees of Sounds of Life Trust consider it to be a very gratifying and pleasing achievement this year to have managed to carry on the running of the trust and achieved all the aims and objectives of the Trust without undue wear and tear on anyone else, in light of the sickness states of both Mr and Mrs Hunt, who are continuing on a home-based ministry, even though their work has worldwide distribution. Even though Mr Hunt is considerably better than he has been, Mrs Hunt is not improving yet. We want to take this opportunity once again this year, like last year, to thank all those who have been praying for them both and we are sure that you will see the fruits of your prayers if you don’t see them now. Our God is faithful to His Word, and where he has promised full healing, you can be sure that it will come.
Other key Happenings This Year
a) The loss of Mrs Su Hawkyard - it is with heavy hearts that we report the loss of our sister in the Lord, Mrs Su Hawkyard on 12[th] April 2021, after a short illness. This is the first time that we have lost a serving Trustee through death. We are grateful to God for the years of service she gave as a Trustee, and we are praying that each member of her family, including her husband, Michael, will find peace in knowing that she is with the Lord.
b) As reported above, we have also lost Jenny M, who died on Christmas Eve. Like Mrs Hawkyard, she too was also a key person in Sounds of Life, being the co-host, with her husband, of all our recent missions in Zambia.
c) At year-end, it is good to know that most everybody else involved with Sounds of Life is fit and well and have avoided the coronavirus. If you believe that this doesn’t include you and you have been overlooked, please accept our apologies and be in touch. We know that a few Trust Partners are struggling with sickness and we keep them in prayer.
d) As reported above, the new Sounds of Life schools are all making progress and are doing well in terms of the teaching and learning that goes on - it is indeed the Lord’s will for these to succeed. We are grateful to all the partners who have contributed to getting them underway.
E. CURRENT SITUATIONS AND FORTHCOMING MILESTONES
Many other good things have happened this year, of which the following are the major ones -
January 2022

Page 16
SOUNDS OF LIFE - ANNUAL REPORT 2021
1) Three new Sounds of Life Academy schools are in various stages of preparation, but it is hoped that they will all officially open sometime in the New Year, each with a fully-functional, profit-making project designed to finance them -
a) School 6 - Mufulira, Zambia,
b) School 7 - The Barracks, Bakassi Cameroon,
c) School 8 - Bumbuna, Sierra Leone.
2) The continually increasing number of Church leaders throughout India and Africa receiving the Kids Connect Club material (see 3 below), Discipleship Course Modules and Full Bible Book Expositions, which means that this teaching is being / will be cascaded down to church members, thereby providing excellent fodder for people to mature in Christ - the whole point of them being written.
3) Continuing work with Kids Connect Clubs - we praise God for his enabling of Mrs Hunt, despite her high pain levels to continue writing these important issues under the anointing of Holy Spirit, which has just resulted in a fully-scanned and rhyming song / poem on the story of Joseph (Genesis), together with all the usual games, puzzles and teaching articles etc., all designed to help the children to learn the Word of God and its application in their lives.
4) The continuing and increasing number of people, joining the Sounds of Life WhatsApp group run by Mrs Hunt, which carries daily thoughts by her and Mr Hunt’s Daily Devotional, thanks to the good offices of our Brother Andrew in India (see above).
5) One item at the personal level is the fact that Ambre N’s shop has opened and is doing a good trade as part of the Completion of Overseas Support (COOS) project started in 2020 and completed in the early weeks of this year - it has taken a lot of work to get this up and running by Ambre and we are blessed that it is producing the kind of fruit that will enable him to be fully self-sufficient very soon.
F. PRAYER
The need for prayer continues to be a vital need as Mr & Mrs Hunt both know they cannot do what is required of them in Sounds of Life and their ministries without input and control from On High. Without the regular prayer backing of the Prayer Partners, this ministry would have failed by now, but it is still being fruitful and good things are happening round the world because of it, for which we are grateful to God and the partners who give of their time to pray regularly for them.
G. CONCLUSION
Because of their experience and expertise in mission preaching and teaching, it is our hope is that Mr & Mrs Hunt will continue for many years yet and that God restores to them the mission side of the ministry - we would value everyone praying for this together with full return to health of Mr & Mrs Hunt alongside that too. May God bless and be with you.

Independent Examiner’s Report
Patrick Bean F.C.C.A

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Sounds of Life Trust Year Ending 31 December 2021.
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Sounds of Life Trust for the year ended 31 December 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
Yours truly,
P Bean F.C.C.A 28[th] January 2022
