The Constitution is based upon the Model Constitution recommended by the Third Age Trust. The Charity is managed by a Committee organised in accordance with the Constitution. Committee Members are Trustees. New trustees are recruited from our membership and are nominated and appointed at the Annual General Meeting in accordance with the Constitution. ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** To advance the education of the public, in particular, the education of older people no longer in full time gainful employment in Broxbourne and its surrounding locality. The provision of facilities for leisure time and recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the above persons, in the interest of their social and physical welfare. These objectives are achieved by organising Interest Groups from our membership and currently there are around 40 Groups. To mention just a few, they range from Art to Woodturning and include such activities as: Art, Bowls, Creative Writing, Dancing, Family History, French, Gardening, Heritage, Spanish, Scrabble, T’ai Chi, Walks, Woodturning etc. ## **BROXBOURNE UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE** Registered Charity, No. 1090504 ## Notes To the Accounts for The Year Ending 31[st] March 2024 ## 1 Accounting Policies These Accounts have been prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis as allowed under Section 42(3) of the Charities Act 1993.
