Trustees Report
From the Chair, The Board of Directors.
This year has been remarkable, characterized by enhanced collaboration with other churches and institutions within our local community in Staple Hill, Bristol, South Gloucester, and the wider Southwest region. Our Spanish members are successfully integrating into communities across England. Senior management has strategically realigned the objectives of other institutions they are part of to better reflect the needs of our diverse and expansive community, the God’s House International Centre Vision.
I am pleased to report that the charity has successfully completed the refurbishment of our office and hall building. We greatly benefited from the contributions of the Spanish community, which effectively halved our labour costs. The development department achieved significant savings through this initiative.
I take immense pride in our growing reputation as a vibrant multicultural church that actively engages with local, national, and international communities. This reputation has been fostered through our leadership, collective passion, and partnerships with like-minded churches, organizations, and individuals. Our commitment to outreach has been particularly evident this year.
The renovation of our multipurpose building is now complete, and it continues to serve our community effectively. The hall remains available for various community events, including training sessions, parties, funerals, weddings, and fitness activities, on a cost-recovery basis. The unwavering support from our enthusiastic congregation has been pivotal to the success of the refurbishment project, and I am immensely proud of our church and the individuals dedicated to advancing our mission.
As a charity, our team has actively engaged in both ongoing and new projects with a variety of diverse groups within the local community and beyond. One of our primary focuses has been youth engagement, and we have made a meaningful impact on their lives. We will continue to support initiatives aimed at youth involvement in 2025.Our international mission is progressing steadily in partnership with Tearfund in Uganda and other partners, churches and a charity development effort in Botswana. We aim to expand these initiatives to West Africa in 2025.
Additionally, we have expanded our board membership, welcoming Jan Patching in the third quarter of 2024. Our goal has been to encourage individuals from outside the charity to apply, ensuring balanced representation, particularly of women. We look forward to a brighter and even more successful 2025.
I would like to express my gratitude to the trustees for their governance and to the office team for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the charity’s services are credible and aligned with our strategic goals as outlined in the Bible, trust deed, and church vision.
