2022 saw a number of changes with the development of fundraising for the new Play Park (also
known as Skipsea Park Ranger5), changes to the committee including the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer
and Independent Examlr￿r.

This figures include £17,000 of grants and £1,903.13 fundraising for the Play Park and £1.235.20 of
expenditure. mainly on design and planning fees, and we are grateful to everyone who has
contributed so much to these efforts. There will te more to do in 2023. The Village Hall is transferring
£5,000 to the Play Park.
Setting the Play Park aside, the Village Hall's expenditure exceeded income in 2022 by £3,083.39 if
uncashed cheques are included. The year was exceptionally expensive with repairs. such as the
emergency lighting (£2,274) PAT testing of electrical items and floor cleaner replacement, though we
did get a grant towards this, and in the alrtumn the pond was deaned out. tidied and pump repla￿d.
Additionally, towards the end of the year our electricity provider EON Next highlighted that we owed
£2,884.04 due to incorrect billing and this is being recovered at a rate of £766 per month in 2023.
Following works to the pond in the autumn of 2022 the final quarter's water bill was £921.83 and this
was paid on in January 2023. This emphasises the need for the hall to be used as much as possible
and for fundraising to be continued rf a further operating loss is not to be made in 2023.
On the income side hall hire was up significantly. SSE being of particular note. as was income from
the bar, brunch and yoga classes. Brunch is a real social event and beneffting both the Village Hall
and other l¢)cal organisations who hold regular tombolas or tabletop sales at it_ Yoga ¢lasses are still
going strong with income up over the year. There have been more exercise classes in the past. but
these have been short lived due to the lack of support and gyms offering free classes for members.
Looking ahead, we have one wedding booked for 2023, a number of regular bookings from the Parish
Council, Gardening Club, Craft Fairs. SGOUt sleepovers and children's birthday parties plus a number
of new events including dog training and tab￿ top sales.
l am grateful to Julie for her assistan￿ in transferring the accounts over to me. and l agree with her
that the Village Hall needs lo retsin at least £10.000 in the bank in order to cope with repairs and
maintenance as the hall is now a dozen years old.
I would like to join her in thanking all who have helped with the fundraising on the committee and
especially those non-committee members who have constantly helped behind the s￿neS making
donations, selling tickets, promoting and attending events. We still have several people who are
prepared to help when needed, but as ever, more are always welcome.
