As Chaifperson of the Pendragon Community Trnst, l am pleased lo present our annual slatement for 2023. The
Trust continues to provide essential seNic8S to chlldren and aduhs with leamlng dlsabiliti8s across North Yorkshtre.
Our Multi-sensory Centra In Northallerton offers a safe, indusive space for Individuals with additional needs. their
famllles, 8nd carers. Equipped v￿th holstlng end changing facilities, the centre offers a range of sensory
experiences and therap8Utlc acllvities atmed at enhancsno development and welkbelng.
This year, the 10K Pendragon Run was a major su(xess. vAth the large8t number of entrants slnce Its Inception.
This rellects the strong support of the local communlty and their commttment to our cause. Wva look foThvard to
bulldlng on thls success In future events.

Since the year end. we successfulty Introdu￿ a SharePoint envlronment to streamline operatlons. SharePoinl has
enabled better ryjllaboration among stsff and Trustees. ensuring secure document shaing and improved wothftow
effiaency. Thls plaifomi is helplng us to enharts our governan￿ processes whi18 SUPPOrting staff In their day-
day roles.
We have also deployed mime￿3( a le80lng em8113ec￿r1ty service. Mimecgst plays a ¢yu(xal role in protecting the
Trust from cyber Ihreals, induding phishing and malware attacks. This has strengthened our Communi￿110n
security and ensured that sensitive tnformallon remalns protected.
Furtherniore. we have created confidential emall addre88es for all Trustees and staff, and have reviewed our
compllance policies, tndudlng the use of moblle devlces by staff, to maintain the highest standards of 8euJrfty and
operationd integrity.
On the financial front, it 15 encouragirvj to See that the Trust continues to maintain )Inanci81 reserves. However. in
the year ahead. we will fo(yJs on infxeasing our fundraising adivrties to ensure that the runnlng costs of the charity
are adequately supported. This indudes revenue generated through the centre's activities. Our aim is to keep the
cost of our seNices as low as realistir2lly posslble while providing a hIgh￿Uatty expwience for our users. ￿ are
deepty gratefvl to all Ihose who donate and support the Pendragon Community Trusl: their contributlons are vltal to
the continuation of our important w
Kate Ross, who has lolned us In 2024 as our Accounts and Finance Manager. is perfoThning an important role In

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wilh th8 accounting policies set oul in nole 1 to the
Ilnan(yal statements and comply with the thaiiivs Memorandum and Artides of Assoaation the Companles Act
2006 and °AccOun￿n9 and Reporting by Charities: Slatement of Recommended Practice appiicable to tharities
preparing Iheir aC￿UnIS in accordance with the Finan(aal Reporting StaThdard appllcable In the UK and Republlc of
Ireland {FRS 102)° (effeLlive 1 January 2019).
Objectlves and actlvlties
The Pendragon Communlty Trust has estsblished a local non-r88id8ntlal fadlty for people wlth special needs. The
trust has constructed a purpose buitt 8en$ory ¢entr8 to provide stimulation to those with profound leamlng
dlfficufties, whlth opened In Juty 2016.
The trustees and stsff work together to develop the charlV8 Strategic plan. from which PriOTities are set and speafic
WOTk plans devised. Throughout this process the twstees have regard to the chartty commission's guidance on
pubfjc benefft enwre thal all sery1￿ meet those uiteria.
The Pendragon Community Trust alms to provide a quality day $eNlce for those wlth more profound learning
disabiliknes which is focused on a Sensory Centre that provides a stimulating range of therapeutic and
developmental actbvttie$ and support for both adults and children by creating a spiritual. caring. stimulating and
Inspiring envlronment in whith the benefiaaries and Iheir carers can Ilve rid) and fuffilllng1Sves.
Publlc benefft st tement
The Centre has now over 2.000 indiiiduals who have used the facllty slno it was opened In Juty 2018. They comè
from as far as Hartlepool in the North to Wakefield in the South. The ratio belween adult and children with special
needs who attend the Centre remains at 2.1.
The trustees confim) that they have complled thith the requlrements of section 17 of the Charltles Ad 201110 have
due regard to the publlc benefrt guidance published by the Chaiity Commission for England and Wales.
Athlevements and porfornian¢e
As mentioned in the Chairperson's report, a¢Xlvilles have increased durlng the year. Booklngs of the Sensory Room
and income derived from functions were up £12.783 . Donations make up the remainder of income resources. and
have decreased this year due to fewer one off donalions being rec8ived. The Twstees acknowledge the positive
effect of the 10K Northallerton run on bolh incomlng re80urce8 and publi(ity for the d)8rlty, th18 18 expected to
continue going foThvard8 as the event grow8 in fuiure year8.
Flnancial rnvlew
The tharity generated income in the year of £111.818 (2022 - £109.910) and incurred expendilure of £124,908
022- £123.04n, resulting in net expenditure reP￿tsd of £13.090 (2022- £13,137).
As at 31 December 2023 the 1*8ritys totsl funds amounted to £509.629 (2022 - £522.719). Cash reserves were
£228.929 as at the year-end (2022- £225,580).
ReseThes policy
The usual poficy set by the trustees is for ￿se￿Ie$ to be mainlained equivalent to 6 months of operaling expenses,
The arnount is calculated using the forecast budget expenditure for the finan(aal year ahead. The trustees believe
that this would enable the trust to continue its core seNices and obllgadons in th8 event of a su¢*len loss of funding.
Free reseNe8 accumulated in excess of the minimum can be used at the discyetion of the truslees for the
development of the trust. The pollcy Is reviewed annually.
