FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025
The Truslees present their annual report iogether with the financial slatements of the Merseyside
Transport Trust lor Ihe year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025. The Annual report serves the purposes of
both a Trustee5' report and a directors. report under company law. The TNstees confirm that the Annual
report and fmancial ststements ol the charllable rryy comply with the current statutory requirements,
the requirements of the tharitab￿ companrfs governing document and the provisions of the Statement of
Recommended Pradice (SORP) applicable to charilies preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applTrcable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) (effective l January
2019).
Since the Charfty qualifies as small under seclion 382 of the Companies Act 2006. the Slrategic report
requir8d of medium and large companies under the Companies Acl 2006 {Strategic R8POrt and Directors,
Report) Regulations 201.3 has been omitted.

general gUIdan￿ published by the Charity Commlssion relating to wblic benefit, induLling the
guidance 'Public benefii: wnning 8 charity (PB2)'.
Strategies for achfieving objectfves
T.he.Trust has'organised and delivered several events designed to showcase the Trusfs collection
to the general publlc whlch provlde a supplementary income stream to support the ongoing
maintenance and restoration of vehicles in Ihe ￿lIe￿10n.
Actlvltles undertaken to achleve objectlves
In addition to the organlsed events detalled in the "Revlew of Actlvltles" sectSon below, the Trust
has provided skills development opportun5tles for volunteers aclivety working (under supervision)
on restoration and maintenance of the Trusfs vehldes at its BUrs￿ugh bas8.
A¢hlevements and perfornian
Review of aGtivitl
The Trust held iwo events during the period under review, a Beer & Buses Day in April and 8
Llverpool Classic Bus Running Day In September. Both were well patronlsed and successful
events. Restoration proceeded on a number of vehides under Ihe supeThision of skilled craftsmen
wlth willing vojunteers spurTed on by healthy levels of sponsorshlp.
Fundraising activities and income generation
MernbeTship sub5criffjionE and particularty donalions trom Members and Friends of Ihe Trust were
augmented by donations and sales arising directly from the two events organised during the year.
Further rental income was received from individual vehicle Owne￿ and the 502 group.
Investment policy and performan
The T￿￿teeS operate th the goveming document. the MemoTandum aml Arb'cles of AssoclallL
having regards to the guidance provided by the Charltles Commission and in accordance wllh the
Trustees Act 2000.

After making appropriate enquiries, the T(ustees have a reasonable expectation that the Chanty
has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for Ihe foresee8ble future. For this
reason. they continue to adopt the going conc4m basis In preparing the financial statements.

poIic4es.
Reserves policy
The Trustees have reviewed the charity's requirement for reseNes. The TnJst has a significant
number of vehides awaiting festOTaiion as well as an overfidillg requirement to keep Ihe enti
ollection in a secure. safe undercover storage. In the longer term this requirement would be best
mel by acquiring a suilable freehold storage site as opposed to the Current renled premises. Having
regard to these matters the Trustees believe the current level of reseNes to bé adequate; tha
intention over the medium to long tem will be progressively to augment them,

process - there are no sub-committees or management commlttee. The Trustees typically meet on

activity. The c(Ets of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs.
