who wanl to know how to support them. It also prO￿deS research. statistics and informatlon for
protessionals.
The newly. created directory of community-based domestic abuse services. whlch hosts Informatlon of all
the servlces In the UK that we are aware ol. who suppon male vlctims Icalleo the Oak Bookl, coniinues 10
be very popubr again in 2023124, and receives around 12,000 visitors per year.
The charity also continued to develop its ACORN Recovery Progrèmme for male survlvors of domesllc
abuse. which Is almed al enabling them 10 rebulld their lives posl-abuse. This Is being delivered to male
survlvors in Iwo pollce lorce afeas, and also nallonally. wlih 5urviv015 Irom the Armed Fof¢e5. Including
velerans.
Support other servlces to support male vlctlms.. throu8h the charity'5 qualified team of professionals
IIDVAS and Service Managersl, it supports organisations such as pollce forces, health services, l¢xal
councils, employer5, charltie5 and other orRanlsatlon5 wantin8 to provide improved service5 to men
and/or better understand their needs.
The diarty had, in the prevlous years, developed a suite of CPO-accredited domestic abuse trainin8
support, both online and face-to-face. This training takes into account the front-line experience the
charity has In providin8 dlrect support io male vlc(Ims. It has been peer.revlewed by the UK'S leading
academic5, and included the voices of survlvors.
The training introduces the charltvs unique MDAN Model, which looks at the fovr particular
experlences that male victirns endure, which are different to that of female victim5 masculinity, belief
systems, Invisible public services and the lack of public policylstory. It incorporate5 the latest trends,
academic research, praaitloner support and the volces of survlvors. The charlty has three IDVAS, with
over 45 years, profe55ional domestic abuse experience. In 2023124, CPD-accredited training sessions
were delNered to a range of or8anisations, from the Armed Forces, to the NHS and local council5.
Presentatlons. which are Increasingly popular, were given to a range of organisations, such as the
Royal Navy, NHS Foundations. Metropolitan Police and Cadent Gas.

The charity continues to be a central hub for the media. statutory a8encies and academics. with an up
to date research library, domestic homicide library. academic research request ￿ge, and a key
statislics page. These are unique to the male dorne5tÈc abuse Sector. The rnonthly new51etter
increases in wpularity every month.
The charity own5 the Male Dorne5tic At￿se Network IMDANI.which 15 aimed at prac¢i£ioners acr055
the UK, who support male wct1rn5 01 domestic abuse. This has over 400 members and runs monthly
best practice wekn"nars. It has Cfeated a specialist network of praCti￿OrterS, who are solely 5UPPOrtir
male clients within iheir community-ba5ed or8ani5ation5.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper books and record5 which disclose with
reasonable accuracyat any time the financial position ofthe charity and to enable thern
to ensure that the financial statements complywilh the Companies Act 2006. The
trustees are a150 responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and. as also
requireo by charity law, ensuring their proper application, and hence for taking
reasonable steps lor the prevention and deieciion of Irauo and other Irregularities.
RESULTS
The results torthe yearand the charltys fSnanclal posltlon are Shown In the attached
financial statements.
The surplus ror 2023124 is explaine(J by an Increase in public lonations towards the
costs of operating the telephone helpline and associated charitable activities
RESERVES
Note 12 to the tlnanclal statements shows the reserves of the Charitywhlch have been
reviewed by the trustees. This review encompassed the nature otthe income and
expenditure stieams and the nature of the reserves. The revlewconcluded thai to allow
the charity to be efficiently managed and to provi(le a buffer for unlnterrupted Services
a general reserve equivalent to three months expenditure Is consldered approprlate.
This level was maintained during the current linanciai period.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The Trustees continue to keep under review any major risks arising from or impacting
on the activities ofthe company. We consider that the systems we have In place to
mitigate such risks as have already been ascertained appear to be adequate in normal
circumstances.

AUDITORS
The CompaniesAct and the CharityAct state that an independent examination of a
company's accounts may lake place where the gross income ofthe company Is less

We have examined the flnancial statements of the Trust fortheyear ended 30th November 2024. whlch
comprise the Statement of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet and the related
notes on pages 12 to 18. The financial statements have been prepared un(ier the accounting
Pollcles set out on pages 12 to 14 an(J the requirements of the Financial Reporting Standards for
Smaiiei Entities {Ertective 6th April 2008) and were not required to be audited in accordance
with Part 16 of the Companies Act 2006 (the 2006 Act).
This report is made solely to the charitytrustees as a body, in accordance wlth section 43 of the
Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act). Our examination work has been undertaken so thatwe might state
to the charity trustees those matters we are required to state to them in an indepenclent examlners

Grants received in advance are included in creditors. Where the receipt is for
specif ic purposes, the related expenditure is offset in the year of receipt and any
surplusto be used against future costs.
The Charity receive5 donated equipment from lime to time and these items are
not capitalised into fixed assets.
The Charityhas a number of restricted Income funds regarding donor grants to
be used tor a specific purpose. All other funds are unrestricted.
Resources Expended
Expendiiure Is iecognlsed when a Uablllly Is Incurred. Contractual arrangements
and pertormance reiate(i grants are recognised as goods an(J seNices are
supplied. Other grant payments are recognised when a conslructive obligation
arises that results in the payment being unavoidable.
Cost ol generatlngtunds comprise the costs associated wilh attractingvoluntary income
that can be allocated directly to such activilies and those costs as an indirect
nature neces5aryto support them.
