The objects of the company 8re'. to provide educational, vocalional and employment training to the vulnerable members of society to work in partnèrship with other specialist voluntsry ¢haritable agencies to run a restaurant and cafe, to provide employment training as well as a 'Meals on Wheels. service in partnership with the Church of God Worldwide Mission to provide premises for community based businesses to operate from The policy of the project is lo serve the local community. Revlew of actlvltles and future dèv8lopments The Church of God Worldwide Mission took the decision to estsblish the Community Mission Project as a company limited be guarantee, to enable the Churth to h8ve a greater impact in the communty. During the year under review the Community Mission Project operated an out of school dub. The Joshua Academy was launched in September 2019. The Academy sperialises in mentoring and coaching for young people who are predominantly at risk of not being in education, employment or further training. Thè services are targeted at young people from Black and Minority Ethni¢ groups and Ih¢)se form socially deprivedlisolat6d backgrounds. It is hoped that this service will expand in the coming years. Communlty Mission Project Statoment of Diroctors, Responsibilit1•8 The directors are responsible for preparing the report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. Company law requires the directors to prepare accounts for each financial year. Under that law the directors have elected lo prepare the a¢¢ounts in accordance with Unf(ed Kingdom Generalty Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under Company law the directors must not approve the accounts unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of th8 State of affairs of the company and of the profit or loss of the company for that period. In preparing these accounts, the diredors are required to.. select suitsble accounting policies and then apply them consistently., make judg8ments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent., prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate lo presume that the company will continue in business. The directors are responsib18 for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the companvs transactions and disclose wilh reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregulariiies.
