## **Objectives and Activities**

SORP reference<br>Summary of the  Para 1.17 Bonymaen Kids Play Initiative<br>purposes of the charity  provides good quality affordable<br>as set out in its  play and childcare facilities for<br>governing document the children and parents of<br>Bonymaen. We provide a play<br>environment which builds the self<br>respect and confidence of<br>children and where children feel<br>safe, secure and free to<br>participate and have fun.  We<br>promote social inclusion  by<br>working with 300 children  per<br>year, aged 3 -16 over 11 schools<br>and reduce the risk of<br>disaffection by promoting a<br>caring and trusting atmosphere<br>which enhances the children’s<br>confidence and self-esteem.<br>Summary of the main  Para 1.17 and   The focus of work has remained<br>1.19<br>activities in relation to  on supporting the children and<br>those purposes for the  families of Bonymaen through the<br>public benefit, in  provision of out of school<br>particular, the activities,  services<br>projects or services  .When working with the children<br>identified in the  and young people through play<br>accounts. we aim to raise their self esteem,<br>confidence and give them a wide<br>variety of informal learning<br>opportunities.<br>We Provided the following<br>activities. Afterschool club  5<br>term time sessions per week<br>providing play and childcare<br>facilities for children aged 5- 12<br>yrs <br> playscheme was run for 3 days<br>per week in oct, Christmas and<br>feb holidays<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>




** weds night for children aged 9- 13yrs, 1 session per week plus children’s committee meetings / participation sessions. Unfortunately all activites were stopped when the covid pandemic struck and we didn’t reopen until sept 2020**

We also have<br>a further 8 young volunteers<br>aged between 14 and 17 yrs old<br>who give considerable time and<br>energy to the organisation and<br>provide good role models for the<br>younger children.<br>Other<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>

**Continuation of B.K.P.I Clubs as outlined above has allowed children to experience a wide range of play activities and to learn and develop through play.** 

**During the autumn term the children enjoyed Halloween crafts and making their own costums for the Christmas parade.** 


**40 children and parents took park in the Swansea Christmas parade doing rock around the tree theme.** 

**Staff at  weds night club ran a   series of graffti art workshops.** 




**Christmas Playscheme was celebrated with a Christmas dinner which 25 children help to prepare by peeling veg and making stuffing.** 

**We had fun in the winter term and the children were involved in trying to raise money towards a residential activity holiday, unfortunately the covid lockdown closed down our activities from March onwards.**
