## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES**

In setting our objectives, and planning our activities, we have given careful consideration to Charity Commission's guidelines on public benefit.

Students are increasingly encouraged to pursue education at British Schools. The trust aims to foster an awareness within students about their surroundings and society in an environment that is both conducive to their learning and moral welfare. The school also aims to give students a sense of citizenship and a concern for human welfare and its values multi-culturalism within society.

At the moment there are no pupils with any special needs or learning difficulties. As education providers, the trust endeavours to provide all its pupils as many opportunities to experience and equip themselves with the seven areas of learning and essentials or any well considered curriculum, linguistic, mathematical, scientific, human and social skills, aesthetic, technological and physical education.

This is a friendly school where you learn to get on with others, have the opportunity to meet people from different cultural backgrounds, improve the life skills, learn independence and increase faith. The trust ensures pupils appreciate the opportunity they have to study with students of diverse cultural heritages and cultural awareness is raised by pupils studying and engaging in weekend activities and taking part in cultural events. The trust continues to help pupils achieve a high level of self-confidence and capacity on reflection, to ensure pupil behaviour is consistently outstanding and pupils demonstrate a high level of self-discipline on a daily basis. This in turn will show an exceptionally positive attitude to school, and the maintenance of a high standard of attendance, their willingness to participate in lessons and their visible enjoyment. The trust ensures that they gain a strong sense of community and an insight into the spiritual and social benefits of communal life.

The school is committed to providing a safe and secure Islamic environment for all their children and staff. This enables the pupils to feel safe, enjoy and achieve an enriched school experience that encompasses the very best National Curriculum and a range of extra-curricular activities.

The school offers admission to boys and girls aged between 4 and 11 years and is committed to providing an education that fosters their creativity and gives them a lifetime passion for learning.

## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**

The trustees, parents and teachers are very pleased with the performance of the school. Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariya Preston is a unique community and an environment in which pupils can learn and experience a vast array of social and academic skills in a safe and highly organised school and endeavours to make pupils schooling highly fruitful and memorable. The school day is structured such that pupils utilise their time well and in a balanced manner.

The school has high expectations of the pupils to achieve the highest level of academic excellence, character development and physical achievement. The majority of the pupils are from the local community. However, the school operates an open admissions policy that enables children from outside of Preston to gain admission.

The charity regularly evaluates and revises the curriculum to suit the pupils' needs and to prepare pupils positively for external assessments and examinations. By maintaining the policy, the school has achieved high standards of teaching and assessment as well as exceptional behviour.

The education provided to the pupils enables them to deal with daily demands of adult life in a mature and responsible manner.

The Ofsted report rated the school as Good, which is very pleasing and is a testament to the excellent contributions made by staff, pupils, and the support provided by parents.
