st Report of the trustees for year ending 31 March 2024
st The trustees of Valgray’s Border Collie & Animal Rescue present their annual report and certified accounts for the year ending 31 March 2024. Our Aims:
To relieve the suffering and distress of Border Collie Dogs, but not excluding other breeds of dogs or other types of animals, by the provision of temporary shelter, veterinary treatment and by finding permanent homes for such dogs / animals.
Our Objectives:
Our objectives are to provide shelter and new homes for animals (predominantly dogs) who are no longer wanted and have been abandoned. Initially the main breed was the ‘Border Collie’, however this has changed over the last couple of years as a variety of breeds lose their homes.
Review of Activities and Achievements:
Rescue and rehoming of animals – the need to rescue and rehome remains high. Val has kept busy for the period with roughly the same number of animals as per the previous period.
Crufts – Val and her team of volunteers attended Crufts as usual.
Shop – The shop in Warlingham closed in May 2024 due to a reduction in sales. The reflection of this will be shown in next year’s accounts.
---
Financial information – Donations remain positive, and this included income from rehoming.
Charity Donation - £83,410
Rehoming Donation - £18,770
Expenses - £158,755
The accounts have been approved by the Trustees and the independent examination is being carried out by Tony Terry who is a qualified local accountant.
