Bible Study, preaching and teaching for all age groups, and provide pastoral care to the members of our Church, and the wder community. through visitslion and prayer. helping to organise meetings. and events th* help promote our charitable purpose. Shiloh Pentecostal Church Slough remain committed. with the help of God. our Father. to share the good nèws wilhin our Community. proclaiming the saving and sustaining power of the Lord Jesus Chnst. and to work for the extension of his Kingdom here on earth. The principle objective of our church charity. remains as the advancement of the Christian farth according to the teachings of Scripture.. We are changed by the Hoty Spirit working gentty in us. It's a mysterious process. but is helped by reflectson. Through refle¢b'on we can recognise where God is at work, and anticipate Gi)d's presence in what comes next for us as a Charity. based and wort(ing within our Community. SUMMARY OF MAIN ACTIVITIES Work towards every child and young person having a lif&enhar7cing encounter with the Christian faith, and the person of Jesus Christ. whilst recognising the capacity of children and young people to transform the Church and the world. PromotK)n of Chrisbanity, through stsging of events and meetings, and the distribution of literature. Regular public and corporate worship open to all, wrthin the Church Building_ The provision of a sacred space for pefsonal prayer and conlemplabon. Pastoral work, including visiting the sick & lonely and bereaved in our Community. Teaching from the Word of God (Holy Biblel through Sermons. Seminars. special events. Church members actively involved and parti¢ipabng in various Community projects. Promoting the whole mission of the Church through provisions of aclNilies for senior citizens, parents, toddler5, and other special needs groups. Supporbng other charities in the UK (Salvation Arynyl & Overseas The Sarah Koroma Memorial Fund - Sierra Leone. ACTIVITES DURING THE PAST YEAR The 2022 - 2023 church year has been a year of growth and transit. however during most of this period our Senior Pastor Codman White has been ill and housebound. and our Assistsnt Pastor George Koroma has taken on full SpOnsIbl11ty of leading, the Church by God's grace, wth much support and prayer from his Ministry Team. The departments leaders wthin the Church, Women's. Men's Youth, Missions, and the Ministry Team, contsnue to work hard, sacnficing their lime, and using their gifts to great effecl, in building up the work al Shiloh Church Slough aVaYS stnving to reach the next level of excellence. In May 2023, The Youth Depl planned and Ofganised an away weekend 'The Big Church Festival, in Shoreham by Sea, Sussex. In August 2023 The Doxa Praise & Worship Team were invtted to participate in the Annual Riverfs of Praise Concert held in Shiloh Church Birmingham. The Church is fortunate lo have workets, who are dedicated and willing lo serve so generously, and on behalf of the Board of Trustees I wish to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued service. As Chairman it has been a exciting, yet challenging year leading the Trustee Board, and we will continue to strive together, in the spirit of love & unity, and vth God's guidance help to make the right decisions in the best interest of our Church. FINANCES 2022 - 2023 saw our Churches, income grew steadity over the peri¢)J. as members continued to support the Church Financially In their giving. Our reseNes held steady and the was no signfficanl expenditure on Church Maintenance, projects dunng this year, howevef we are planning to carry out major repairs lo the Roof of the Main Auditorium, and upgrade the Kitchens and Toilets during the next reportsng period. Financially we ended the year wth another surplus, thanks to the sacrificial and increased giving by members. friends, and supporters of the Church. and the Church overall. is now in a goc4J place financially. It continues to be a great honour lo serve Shiloh Penlecostsl Church Slough, as Chaimian of the Board of Trustees. surrounded and supwrted by a great tearn .working together in the spirit of love and unity, and I would like to take this opportijnity to thank the Trustees for their contnbulions and support over the past year. The trustees have adopted the provision5 of Accounting and Reporbng by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Stsndard appIable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20191. FINANCIAL REVIEW Income 1. The total income for the 2023 year was £40.31. Income received from fundraising events has decreased conserablY from the previous year, leading lo the overall decrease in income in 2023. Expenditure 1. The total expenditure for the 2023 year was £40.463. This is a decrease of £31.398 from last year. 2. There has been a significant decrease in proty repairs since last year. Total property repairs in 2023 are £12,797. Last year propety repairs were £41,621. This decrease of £28.824 Is due lo the fact that the majority of the renovabons were completed in 2022. thefOre minimal paIrS were needed in the current year. 3. Telephone costs have decreased from £1.330 in 2022 10 £7l in 2023 This is due to the fact that there was an additional phone contract in last year which has not been neWed in the current year. 4. Cleaning and caretaking costs have dreaSed from the prior year, falling from £11.799 to £9,707. This ecrease of £2.092 is due lo the fact that during the current year the onty cost was a monthly payment for a arelaker lo maintain the property. however In the prr year there were addilK)nal costs ontop of this for extra cleaning services. Net cost of activity The overall Nel Expendrture in 2023 was £73 ¢ompared lo a Net Expenditure of £26,733 in 2022. This decrease in the deficit is due to the fact that there were less propety repaifs in Ihe current year. The losses in the last 2 years have been funded by the reserves built up in prior yeafs.
