health work among the BAME communlty.

Risk management
The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satlslied that system5 are in place
to mitig3te exposure to them. A key element In the management of flnanclal rlsk Ss the settin8 01 a reserves policy and
Its r2gular review by trustees. Trustees have resolved to ensure that the charity is able to continue to provide all
services for a period of at least two months in the event of a slgnificant proportlon ol our Sncome not beln8 rea115ed
and also. in the event of having to come to a c105e. sufllclent funds to meet all its obli8atlon&
In order to meet these obli8atlons, the trustees have set a minimum level of £35.000 for the charlty's free reseNes.
Covld-19 pandemlc
Trustees were commltted to abldin8 by Government advlce and instruetlons regardSng the pandemlc.
In March 2020 followlng Governrnent guidance the ¢harSty went Into the flrgt lockdown. The ofllce closed durln8 thls
perlod, with st3ff worklng remotely where approprlate. In thls way, the charity was able tg contlnue to 5UPPOrt those
m05t vulnerable In Its community through prolects and casework. The charSty used medlums Ilke WhatsApp calls
and telephone calls to reach people durfnÉ the lockdown.
The ¢harlty delivered several short term projects coming out of the flrst lockdown, uslng lundln8 that came avallable.
Beyond thls, the charity secured Bi8 Lottèry Communlty Fundin8 lor a six- month project to SUPPOrt and help people
comln8 Out of lockdown. It delivered well-beln8 sesslons ancl engaged wSth people in dlfferent ways Includin8 small
group exerclse sesslons, onllne Facebook activltle5 and sendlng well-being packs to people in their hornes.
The ¢harlty secured fundln8 from the Communlty Justlce Foundatlon IAccess for Justlcel to dellver pandemlc related
casework during October 2020 to March 2021.
The charlty strengthened Its work In Lou8hbortsugh East wlth key partners, Includln8 Charnwood Borough Councll, to
asslst those who were allected by the pandemic, thls Included en5urlng people could access beneflt advlce, food
banks and 5UPPOrt with thelr mental health.

harity ha5 sufficient cash reserves to continue and have mitiÉaied thè finantial effects of this by applying for
and receiving a one-off unrestricted Brant from Chamwood Borou8h Counal to asslst with the TunnlnB Costs of
the charity and utllisln8 the 8overnment's fvdou8h scheme for employee5 who have been unable to work as a
result ol thè pandeml¢.
