Annual Report – Financial
It was reported that the income this year was exceeded by the expenditure, by £2942.79 due mainly to the “cost of living” with fewer grants awarded, also taken in to sideration must be increased running costs at the nature reserve.
Shown below is a summary of the income and expenditure for this period. This year’s accounts and report have been qualified by an independent accountant examiner, Mr. Alan King who had signed and dated them as correct.
The Gold account figure includes a set aside amount for this year of approx. £28k ring fenced to cover staff redundancies with the remainder as grant monies held in this account for specific funded projects that MESC are working to complete.

Building & Site Developments
Steve Anstey (MESC maintenance engineer) reported that larger projects completed this year have included completing the stone paths around the site providing easier access for all. Electric underground cables have been installed from the tractor shed to the Halloween woods and to the main wood, given much easier power accessibility when needed i.e. for our Christmas events. This work was led by Steve with the aid of our volunteers.
