Trustees’ Annual Report for the Financial Year Ended 31 March 2024

Introduction

St Albans Round Table is a voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting the local community, providing opportunities for personal development and fostering a sense of camaraderie among men aged 18–45. This report outlines the activities, achievements and financial performance for the financial year ending March 2024.

Activities and Achievements

Throughout the year, the Round Table continued to support a variety of charitable projects and local initiatives. Some of our key activities included:

Financial Performance

The financial health of St Albans Round Table Charitable Trust Fund remains strong. Total income for the year amounted to £28,756.12, with the majority raised through charitable events and donations. Expenditure totalled £22,997.00, primarily consisting of charitable grants and administrative costs. The resulting net surplus of £5,759.12 increased the charity’s funds from an opening balance of £20,429.84 to a closing balance of £26,188.96 as of 31 March 2024.

Reserves Policy

The trustees maintain a reserves policy of £15,000, of which £5,000 should be immediately available as cash. These reserve exists to protect the charity’s ability to continue functioning should its main income-generating asset—the Santa Float—require major repairs or complete replacement. Such events may not be covered by insurance if the cause is not linked to an insurable incident. By maintaining this reserve, the trustees ensure stability and continuity of the charity’s fundraising activities.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, St Albans Round Table plans to expand its fundraising efforts, build stronger partnerships with local charities and continue its support of both ongoing and new community initiatives. Increasing membership remains a key priority to support sustainability.

Conclusion

The trustees express their sincere gratitude to all members, supporters and volunteers for their dedication and hard work. We remain committed to making a positive impact on our community and look forward to the opportunities next year will bring.
