We usually enable over 200 people to.volunteer in a year and contribute over 14,000 hours towards a sustainable communily. Participation ranges from one off volunteering of for example 2 hours as a steward al the Carshalton Environmental Fair to several days per week. We provide an environment where people Can instigate thwr own projects. get involved in planning and delivering ath"vities and use their experience, knoMAedge, skills capacrty and passion. Clearly this past year has had its ¢hallenges with the advent of the Covsd-19 pandemic. This has affecteLI some of oui activities negatively and others. to an extent. positively. Many leaflets are prodLKed by us to give schools information on suitable plants for their gardens, useful contscts lists and ideas lo attract wildlrfe. The project is volunteer led by Trustee Hazel Gurr. Staff. pupils (often via Schcw)I Councils) and parents are all encouraged to get involved. Over 139 schools (including Specjal Schools. Children's Centres and Nurseries) and 4 community groups have now been supported by this project across the 2 Boroughs over the past 21 years Schools increasingly take a more holistic approach to sustainabilty issues and Ihis project helps provide a focus where the school partirypales in Ihe national EGo-5chwls Project. We Provide a free bus service to and from the event. We will continue to act as an AQA A¢dited Training Centre next year and develop the range oftraining offered. as need5 a identrfied. and partrcijlarly as our new premises beGomes available. Toward the end of the financial year plans were put in place to deliver socially distanced training using a rnix of outdoor on-site practical sessi$ and on-line sessions.

However both events were Canlled due to the Covid-19 pandemK. See www.envfair.or .uk and www.carshattonfrosrfair.o 6.5 Home Energy Road Show and Mobik Solarpower ESL normally provides Home Energy Saving talks. the Home Energy Road Shoiv and provision of the Mobile Solar Power Station al community events in the London Borough of Sulton. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic no events were p055ible. 7. Social Media We maintained our social media profile and encouraged people to join our free e-mail lisling. Our 8ggregaled cont8Ct$ 8cross 81150cial rneijia platforms including ernail sils at over 12,000 people. This focus has significantly impmved our ability to communicate with the public. Finan¢e Review Unrestricted funds canied forward at the end of the year were £388.954 compared with £404.474 the previous year. Restricted fvnds carried forward at the end ofthe year were £57.218 compared with £59.370 Ihe previous year. We received granis and donations of £18,434 during the year. Thmu9h our charitable activities we raised a lurther £45,137. An additional £218 was generaled from bank account interest. Total income for the year was £63.789 compared lo £83,819 the wevious year. Total expenditure was £81,461 compared to £125.249 the previous year. We had rèceived 8 further b8nk loan 01 £25,972 and loan interest of £32,196 paid toward our premises development project and the balance at the end of the year is £474,16312020-. £415.9951. In relation to the premises development project the charity was owed £64.054 frorn group undertakings at the year end. We have included provision for premises costs associated with the new site and for income generation activilies once the current building works phase is complete. Savings will need to be Made against staff costs in the coming year, partly due to Ihe effect on income resuhing from the cod-19 pandemi¢ and partly due to delays to the completion of.our premises project. This will require a potenlial reLluction in core staffing hours and redundancy funds have been set aside to cover any such decisw.
