The Society is a registered charitable company, run by its elected Trustees and Elected Officers with the support of Honorary Members and other volunteers and is a member of the FederatKJn of Famity History Societies. SFHS PublcatKJns Limited, the whoty-owned sub-company of the Society. acts as the sole trading agent for the sale of transcriptions of Suffolk parish registers in the form of indexes on CD ROM or as downknadable datasets. All profts of the tradg company are gtfted to the soc. RESERVES The policy of the Society Is to maintain two year's running costs in reserv8. PUBLIC BENEFIT In pursuance of its Charitable ms. as set out in its Memorandum of Association, Suffolk Family Hislixy Society and its sub-Groups hold regular meetings wilh guest speakers and provide assistance and guidance to help and educate m8mb&rs of the publi¢ In all aspects of Family History research. The Society's volunteer member transcribers produce transcripts of Parish R8gist8rs and re¢ord Monumental Inscriptions for the use of the public and all interested parties. In addition, the Society also publlshes a quarterly magazine, which dèals with varuS aspects of famty history at home and abroad, as well as providing opwrtunities for members to share their own famity research. This magazine. as weN as bemig distributed to an Society members. is also available at the bcal branches of Suffolk Archives and at number of braries worhjwide. The Sociéty also makntains a Iil)rary at SLrffolk Archives in Ipswich. available at no charge to all visitors and contains books and publicalions surrounding the subject of family history. Thts library also holds the numerous famity histories that membérs have contrlbuted. Members of the Society hold, often in conjunction with local history groups, help deskl clinics in local libraries etc. At fairs that the Society attends the volunteer fairs staff are able lo give advice to thé visiting publrc on all areas of family and bcal research in relation to the county of Suffolk. Independent examiner's report to the trustses of Suffolk Family History Society I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Suffolk Family History Society for the year ended 31 March 2024. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's ststement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect.. the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records., or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
