SEALE VILLAGE HALL CHARITY TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 2025 Charity number: 1087628
As Trustees of the Seale Village Hall, we are delighted to report that the Village Hall continues to provide a valuable asset and resource for the village.
In November 2025 we were very sad to say goodbye to one of our longest serving Trustees and Committee Members, Bridget Biddell who has retired both as a Trustee and a member of the Committee. Bridget, together with her husband, Bill, have been unwavering in their support for the Village Hall and Village Hall activities. Their energy, positivity and unending enthusiasm will be very much missed, and we thank them both for all their efforts and readiness to lend helping hands to ensure village events are a success.
As highlighted in last year's report, we have this year launched the inaugural Village Hall Celebratory Ceilidh, which was a tremendous success. 80-villagers packed into the Hall to enjoy a sumptuous mean prepared by the committee followed by fabulous dancing to the music of the Craigievar Band. It was a wonderful evening, and one that we will be repeating on an annual basis. The success of the Ceilidh has encouraged the Trustees to hold a Summer Solstice Party this year (2026) and hopefully a race night in the Autumn.
The Village Hall continues to thrive, and is rented out for a variety of activities that serve and benefit the community including:
-
a) the pre-school nursery Monday to Friday for 39 weeks of the year;
-
b) various dog training classes;
-
c) yoga;
-
d) discussion groups;
-
e) school holiday play schemes;
-
f) Annual Village Hall Quiz – which raises funds for the Seale & Sands Show
-
g) wreath making and art groups; and
-
h) private parties and wedding celebrations.
Again, we extend our sincere thanks to Lyn Parrott for ensuring the Village Hall bookings system is kept in order and that bookings are so seamlessly managed. As a result of those booking our financial position remains healthy, as can be seen from the attached accounts. This year we have used some of our reserves to replace the folding partition within the hall, and are seeking funding to redecorate the hall and replace the boiler which is reaching the end of its life.
The trustees extend their thanks to all members of the Committee and the many volunteers that assist the committee in working so hard to keep the Village Hall at the centre of village life. Special thanks go to Richard Dance, our treasurer, for holding the purse strings with such care and attention.
