Tel: 07931 066287 ## Trustees’ Annual Report for the year ended 31st December 2024 ## Governing Document The Charity has a Constitution dated 11th March 2001 as amended 11 May 2009. ## Objects of the Charity The main object of the Charity is the advancement of Christian religion by the proclamation and furtherance of the Gospel of God concerning His Son Jesus Christ and the preaching and teaching of the Word of God by the Church in accordance with the Statement of fundamental Truths of Assemblies of God in Great Britain as approved by the General Council from time to time (‘the Statement’). ## Specific Investment Powers Money requiring investment shall be invested by the Church Council in any of the investments for the time being authorised for the investment of Trust Funds and in accordance with such wider powers if any as may be lawfully adopted by the Church Council. The Church Council shall be responsible for the selection and transportation of investments and for obtaining advice. ## Names of Trustees The following acted as trustees during the year ended 31st December 2024: Noel Wood (Pastor), Anna King, Andrew Ward, Daniel Pratt and Ginny Taverner (Church Secretary and Treasurer). ## C’s Organisational Structure The Charity is managed by the Council according to the Constitution which is its governing document. The Council is responsible for the day to day running of the Church’s work and the financial and legal aspects of the Charity. The Council meets once a month where possible and an annual AGM for the members is held for feedback, accountability and voting if the need arises for the furtherance of the charitable objective. Membership is open to all whom profess faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and desire to worship and serve Him in the context of the ‘Statement’. ## Activities and Achievements The following is a summary of TEC’s activities and achievements during the year: e Church services All TEC services are held in Taverham Village Hall, and all are welcome to attend. The Church has continued to show steady growth and increase in its attendance. The Church’s social media and advertising has increased our visibility, and we are seeing more social engagement as a result. Advertising and visibility in the community, through invitation from members, special events, specific courses put on by the Church and Messy Church as well as involvement with Taverham Fayre with ‘Churches Together’, have all produced positive outcomes. ## e Life groups We are Currently running six Life groups which are very much part of the life of the Church. Four of which meet in Church members ‘homes, one on Zoom, and the Youth Life group that uses the local Methodist Church Hall. ## e Prayer meetings Prayer meetings are held once a month where possible and except for when Praise & Prayer evenings occur during the calendar year. All these are held in the local village hall. ## ¢ Children’s ministry Kids Church is held on all but the last Sunday morning in each month and takes place during the main service. This is open to all children but mostly attended by families who attend the Church. Raindrops is a stay-and-play toddler group which is held on Thursday mornings during the school term and is well attended by families from the community. Messy Church is a family service which includes crafts and activities and is held every quarter. It is themed around a Christian event or story (including Easter and Christmas). This is held during the week in the school holidays and is open to all and is very well attended by the families from around the local community. ## ¢ Hardship fund The Church has a ‘hardship fund’; this is available when and where the need arises, for families or individuals who are struggling to meet their financial obligations. These needs are assessed and the relevant help given. In the last year the Church helped an elderly lady in the congregation to purchase a second-hand vehicle which she desperately needed. ## ¢ Supporting care homes TEC supports the needs of care homes whenever there is a need. One of our major care home ministries is to take services and support the staff and residents of Oak Farm Clinic in Taverham, a ministry and relationship that has lasted over twenty years. Oak Farmis a rehab centre for both men and women who have suffered traumatic life changing circumstances, either through sickness or accident. We do regular periodical services at Oak Farm; this includes a Christmas carol service in December of every year. ## e Pastoral support A large part of our ministry is providing support not only for church members, but also many others in our community and beyond who need help both practical and spiritual. This also includes the officiating at weddings and funerals by the leadership of the Church. ## e Missionary support Through the generous giving of the members, TEC supports various missionaries both local and international. From the reports received from these missionary organisations, we are grateful to be able to support them and be a part of making a difference across the globe. ## e Events As achurch we run different events throughout the year which includes Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter Sunday, Remembrance Day and a Christmas Carol service. We also host some social gatherings in the summer, such as a Beach day, Seniors social, Church picnic. Newday is a Youth camp which some of our teenagers attend each year during the month of August. The Church subsidises the young people’s registration costs through the generous giving of individuals in the congregation. We use these events to bless our Church attendees as well as the community at large, giving gifts, showing love and concern to all who attend. ## e Volunteers We have an excellent base of committed volunteers who set up and set down all that is needed to have a service every Sunday in the Village Hall. All mid -week meetings as well as Kids Church & Youth group are organised and led by these volunteers. ## Reserves Policy The Charity has maintained adequate reserves to meet all commitments. The Trustees regularly review the level of reserves. You consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act), and that an independent examination is needed. ## It is my responsibility to: e examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act; e follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act; and e state whether any particular matters have come to my attention. ## Basis of examiner’s statement My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. The examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
