Activities and Achievements
The following is a summary of TEC’s activities and achievements during the year:
-
e Church services All TEC services are being held in church without exception. Church attendance is generally very good and enjoyed by all. The church has a new Senior Leader, Noel Wood, he has settled into the life and ministry of the church very well and is actively working to increase attendance as well as improving the churches involvement in the local community.
-
e Life Groups Our four Life Groups are an essential part of the life of the church and are regularly very well supported. Of our four life groups, two meet in the evenings, one in the afternoon, and one meets online. This mix allows almost everyone to be involved in the groups for Bible study and fellowship. Each group, except for the online group, meet in the home of one of the church members.
-
e Prayer meetings Our monthly prayer meetings are usually held in a church member’s home. The ability to be able to personally join together in prayer has resulted in an increase in numbers attending. On occasions, we will have a time of prayer and praise in church, this has seen a considerable increase in the number of those attending.
e Children’s ministry
-
All of our children's ministries are held in church. Kids Church is held each Sunday morning during the service. This is attended mainly by church families, but on occasions others outside of church, mostly visitors, will attend. Raindrops is a stay and play toddler group which is held on Thursday mornings during term time and is attended mainly by families from the community. Messy Church is a family service which includes crafts and activities and is held once a month on Thursdays after school. This is attended by families from the church as well as families from the local community.
-
e Filling the Gap
During the pandemic we were very much involved in supporting the local community who were struggling to feed their children, especially over the school holidays. As the pandemic is over the need has considerably lessened but whenever there is a need, we are prepared to meet that need. School holidays are now the major time when there is a need, and we will assess whatever needs there are at the relevant time.
- e Supporting care homes
TEC supports the needs of care homes whenever there is a need. One of our major care home ministries is to take services and support the staff and residents of Oak Farm. Oak Farm is a rehab centre for both men and women who have suffered traumatic life changing circumstances, either through sickness or accident. We do regular periodical services at Oak Farm, a ministry and relationship that has lasted over twenty years.
-
e Pastoral support A large part of our ministry is providing support not only for church members, but also many others in our community and beyond who need help both practical and spiritual. We also have a ‘hardship fund’, this is available for those who are struggling to meet their financial obligations.
-
e Missionary support
-
We support various missionaries through the giving of the church. The supported charities range from local and national to one charity in the Philippines. TEC gives ten per cent of its income to these charities and we are in turn blessed to hear the reports of how our giving makes a difference to them all
Reserves Policy
The Charity has maintained adequate reserves to meet all commitments. The Trustees regularly review the level of reserves.
This report was approved by the Trustees on 23 July and signed on their behalf.
