l am ljelighted to once again have the opportunity to present my report as chair of Take-a-Break Warwickshire. It
gives me the opportunity to r8fl8Ct on th8 continuing progres8 and developments we have made in 2023124 and to
highlight some of the key achlavémenls th& organisation has once again delivered.
After a few difficult years for Take•a-8reak, 2023124 has been a year for growth and development - deliverlng more
and bettèr sèrvices as outlined later in th8 report and an Improved f5nanclal position. Congratulatlons to everyone
who help8d deliver this fantastic achievem8nt. Tho real key to dèllverlng the hlghquallty servlcas that our
Customers want need. and value is to ensure Ihal we listen to. learn from. and Involve our custom8rs In th8 design
and delivery of services. I believe Ihal, as an organisatlon, we have taken slgnSficant strldes In Involvlng our
customers In the d8sign and delivery of our s8rvices. We have changed the way we Involve and consult our
customers. and as a result. our services are better and more r8necl the needs and wants of our d18nls. Genuln8 co-
production Is a way of doing it. but we are Committed to Involvlng and 8ngaglng all our custom8rs In running and
dellverlng our services. There is more to do. yes, but we have made huge slrldes Ihls year on this partlcular journey.

2023124 has been 8 year of growth, and couplad with good financlal governance, the organisatlon has built on Its
strong financial position. wilh a surplus of £ 130,965 in the year, This underplns the abllliy of Iha organisalion to
dellver 8lgnificant grovrth in services and to broaden its offer, Including the introductlon of a day Irip programme and
the expansion of our short OV8rnighl breaks offer. Here at Take-a-Break, we reali88 that the succe3s of our 810ry is
based on tsvo things:
Firslly the real Involvement of our customers and secondly Ihe strength of our siaff. Without the outstanding, hlgh-
quality staff we are fortunate to have, we most definitely would not be able to dellver the amazing seNices we do.
Our commltment to our staff remalns constant, and re¢ognl$lng the Importance of retslnlng and recrulllng our high-
quallty staff, we are committed to ensuring that we have the ablllty to keep paylng staff above mlnlmum w8ge levels
and offerlng pay awards that mean we ramaln ¢ompotltlvé In the local èmployment market. Bulldlng on thè success
of last yea￿S first staff Reward and Recognition evenlng. a s8cond event -blggor and better was held at the Grlff and
Coton Club In Nunealon, which once again proved lo b6 a huge success. Agaln. thls is an opportunlty to recognise
and cèlèbrate the outstanding achievements of our staff, who work tlrelessly to ensure the customers at Take•a-
Break rec8lve the besl possible service. Once agaln, It was truly humbling to meet so many staff, to haar of their
successes and to hear in their own words and Indeed In the words of our customers lust what outstanding w￿k they

chlldren and adulls wlth disabilities, from blrth to sixty-five, including customers with complex support and health

What We Do

W811 as OUT overnight short break programme. Our typical activity programs include specialist sensory groups,
targeted aclivily groups, as well as arts and physlcal activities that encourage participation and engagement,
We also offer adult 5ervl¢es, such as TA8LO, the Take-a-Break Lllo Opportunliles programm8, which offers speclflc
site-based activities, a communlty hub. and individual support, as well as volunteefing and work placemenl
opportunbtles.

In addltlon to offering direct support, we provide a range of addlllonal free activllies that our Customers and thelr
famllles can access together through our charitable activllles and donatlons.

The program has expanded indivldual friendship groups. developed shared experiences, and increased support for
one another. As a result. two of our young people are planning their services jointly and hav6 shared that Ihey have
benefited from knowing they are not alone. This program has enriched thèlr soclal lives. dev81op8d stronger bonds
that extend beyond the breaks themselves.
