and without the arnazing work that our CEO. Lisa Lenton. and the support of Ihe rest of the tearn we would not be able to continue to offer the array of
serwic88 that our cli8nts r8quire. One m8jor achiev8ment that comes to mind is how delighted we were to win the Peo￿e'S project award funded by
the National Lottery Inearfy £70KI. as voted by the public. to support our SHE-roes lourvJe and peer group. I'm SU￿ many of you will have seen the
video ￿ the local televison and we wanted to thank each and every per50n wl¥) voted u51
In the past 12 months there have been a few charoes al Board levd, three long-serving trnstees have stepped (bwn and we would like lo take this
opportunity to pass on our wami thanks and apprea8tion, for tr￿1r valuable contri￿tionS to devdopng Ihe charity. We hav8 also, excitingly, recrui18d
a new trustee. Bijal Ruparelia. a safeguarding expert who brings with her spÈtialist skills and kno￿edge vthid) we on ¢all upon. Biial has already
m3de a big itnpact and has helped us to 51rengthen our approach to 5afeguartling in every way.
Throughout the year continued to work with the prests"gious Piloifight 360 p￿ramrne wh￿h made a posib.ve impact for everyone involved. Our
organisabon worked with four senior business leaders-'Pilolighiers'_ 10 ￿￿lertake an intengve strategic ¢oathing engagement lo In¢￿aSt

The demand for our seNices has doubled over the last 12 months. but everyone has risen to Ihe thallenge and to address this as much as r*Js8ible

therapists. We also have started an outreach serwce operating out of Retford. I[KrEa￿￿9 reach across the county.
We have continued to fLKus on prowding trzining. raising awareness of the prevalen￿ of thildh(xJd sexual abuse and its effects in a variety of ways.
This included vi8 speafic proj8Cts, engaging with key stakeholders and supporbThJ olhers who also offer h81p to suNvors.

S.H.E. UK is a Nottinghamshire based charity that has been semng wclims of childhood sexual abuse. sexual vi018nc8, and rape since 1998. We
are dedicated to the improvement of Ipies affected by these heinous crimes and wovidÈ a holistic range of support aimed at improving the
physical, psy¢hologi¢al. emotional. so¢i81 heatth and wellbeing of Sumvors. and their non-abusing family. friends and support system. We
address the wide range of devastating and long terrn effects of this al￿se, and help succe5sft4 re4ntegration inlo 50uety'. and provide a range of
workshops, training courses, and conferences for professK)nals and the pu￿1C.

The last year has been one of the busie51 we've ever Seen here * S.H.E. UK. ID several ways. Firsuy. and sadly. the dernand for our 5ervice5 has
reached new heights- with over 200 survivors reaching oui for hdp to address Ihe trauma they endured. to be able to rnove forward in their I￿es. A5
you can imagine, as a srnall charity offering lon￿te￿ll support. there is a limil to quIc￿Y we can increase our capaoty. but l am proud of the
ch8ry8s we have mad? to be atrA8 io r8SFond as quic*ty as rKJssitA8.
We have recruited to the therapy tearn - in fact we have recruited OUT first ever rnale therapist to oui paid teatn. offering sutvivors of all genders more
choice, which fits squarely with our values of inclusion and person-C8ntredness. And we have continued to w8lcome and 5UPPOrt a numb8r of Train88
Therapists to help strengthen team fvther, to worf( towards meetiro dient needs.
Geographically. we continued to 5UPP)rt 5urwv(Ks frorn across Notbnghatn5hire latKI Luas%)nally on the out5kirts1 you will See from the
breakdown of seNce users Inoled in pages bdowl. we are supw)rting people in every district of the county and fr(xn the ￿ty itself. This year saw us
establish another oulreath service, based in Re￿Ord (Bassellaw districti to womcth acces%bility and again, reath more people who need speraalist
seNices like ours.
In tertns of the ddivery of services. this year we provided over 2(KK) hours of 1".1 therapy. over 1￿0 sessi￿5 of group and tdephone supporL offering
emotional support and &gnposting, and over 320 ses&ons within our k)ung8 and p88r group were receiv8d by Individua15 in total.
We measure the impact of all areas of our wort(. The lor¥J-tem). lailored supp(*l we offer pets￿￿ acrctss each of our services Is lifechanging- not only
do we observe it. but our client5 tdl us tOD. The word5 dient5 have used to describe theirjourney indu¢Je." "lifesawng . Mransforrnational" and
°ernpowering . And that is exacdy what we are aiming to do.
We put the needs of our clients at the heart of all we do. and crucially. we hamess the KM)wer of lived exK*rience to create peer support opportunities-
ftsr e¥ar￿p￿. in our group work. And thi5 Y￿r. we Cornp￿d a pilot PT(iect thanks to the ROSA fund. enabling u5 to deliver training on irnproving
trauma informed practice to professionals within ststLrtory and care support seTrices. This was c￿deSIgned and cfrdelivered by a peer team of dients,
WFK) ar8 essentially experts by experience, and Ihey shared h8rd hith'ng, re81-Irfe stories of what h8s worked well and what hasn't over the years,
raising awareness and helping to positively thaThJÈ pracbcÈ to supp(xl all Sumvofs Trmthin tommunity.
We a150 have continued to 5UPPOrt the 5tydent group narned SASS ISludent5 Against Sexud and Sexi5ml at Ihe University of Nottinghatn-
facilitsting training to group members- all victims of abuse or recent sexu81 assault. By sharing our expertise we are delighted to be able to suppK)rt
those who wodÉ in the same space as ourselves.
Naturally. to keep wr vitsl Servi￿ running we need adequate funding to do w. We a￿ gratefvl to all the funders who have Support￿ us- from
larye. well-known funders to smaller regionaln(Kal grant makers. all of whom recognise the Im￿rtanCe of (yjr work in supporting our cornmunilies.
Securing mutti-year fundirwJ is extremely helpful to enat4e us to ￿an and has rxo¥ided the stability needed lo offer our bng-lern) support servic88- SO
an extra thank you to the Tudor Trust. LI0￿$ Bank Foundation TWSL the offi￿ of NottiwhaMShi￿'s Poli￿ and Crime Commission. and the Allen
Lane Foundation fortaking this zpproach.
One of the most significant achievements Ihis year was wnning the peo￿8'S Project Award. funded by the National Lottery. We won n8ady £70K to
cover the costs of the Lounge and Peer group. whith was amazing tmjt. il is fair to say the process of d￿ng so was simply inspiring. We won the award
by se¢urlng the publi¢ vote and Many of our Clients W(￿ked alongside us to PTornote our ¢ause and Ihi% enabled us lo take the prizel The su¢tsss was
earned and felt by us all.
An itnportanl piece of work was undwtsken in rdation to (yJr safeguarding processes. t￿ICY and practi￿ thi5 year too. We undertook a fvll review.
8UPPOrted by a Safeguarding Consultsnt, provided through Ihe Uoyds Bank Fcmjndation TrusVs'Enhance' pmgramme. Of course, we h8ve always had
a focus on Safeguarding, bul this review has allowed us to ÈxrAore opportunthes to sirerolhen the way we approad) It- owrationally, str8legic211y 2nd
cutturally. Exuting work in this a￿8 ¢onbnues as we iml￿ement the ath)ns ¢(Knirw of our ¢Jevdopmeni plan and weave safeguarding. as a 9dden
thread. through everything we do.
We h£ve an am82ing leam here and l am in awe of the dedication and hard wrxk the tearn undertake day in, day out. Every single person connected
with S.H.E. UK- whether staff, volunteer or Trustee h8S WOrt¢ed tirdessty to support Ihe organisabon and the people access our serwices.
