The Thurrock Community Chest promotes and supports local good causes and community groups through a programme of constructive grant making. By working together to build up funds, local donations are pooled and an independent board of trustees with local representation from all sectors of the community consider applications for grants.

Objects: For The Benefit Of The Public, In The Borough Of Thurrock, By Providing Or Assisting In The Provision Of Such Facilities Or Services Necessary To Improve Their Conditions Of Life, Whilst Not Relieving Any Statutory Obligations Including, But Not Ezxlusively, (1) Advancing Their Education (2) Assisting Those In Conditions Of Poverty, Need Or Distress (3) Providing For Their Recreational Or Other Leisure Time Occupation.
