These are open to<br>all members, and non-members may attend<br>one meeting of up to three groups on a trial<br>basis.|

|Statement explaining the<br>policy for holding reserves<br>stating why they are held|Para 1.22|Reserves are held to enable the u3a to<br>withstand unexpected events and<br>fluctuations in income and expenditure.<br>One significant risk is a major decline in<br>membership which alone could reduce<br>income by as much as £7,000. There are<br>also payment timing issues which require<br>that a reserve be maintained.<br>The Trustees have assessed that a reserve<br>of £15,000 is required to cover contingencies<br>and timing issues at the year end.<br>While these risks are those identified as the<br>most likely, the reserves are available for<br>use if other risks jeopardise the future of the<br>u3a.<br>The reserves policy is reviewed every year.|
