The Whitton Rosser Trust The Trustees are pleased to present their annual report and accounts for the Year Ended 31 December 2023. st th The Whitton Rosser Trust is governed by a Trust Deed amended 6 October 2021. The Whitton Rosser Trust was established in the year 2000 with the aim of providing fi'nancial assistance to individuals in need of support and encouragement during times of hardship, The Trust is particularly, but not exclusively, sympathetic to the needs of young people in the provision of grants, goods or services where individuals could not otherwise afford these through lack of means. Applications must be made by a third-party professional (healthcare, social work, youth worl(, education, etc...) who is qualified and able to verify a need is genuine and appropriate. Grants are made at the discretion of the Trustees, assessed on a case-by-case basis and largely confined to those living in Wales. Although the majority of grants are of £200 or less, on occasion they may consist of larger sums depending on individual need and circumstances. During the year, the Trustees reviewed their areas of support and decided their three main areas of support are; Education and Training - we provide assistance to people who wish to engage with education of training (including driving lessons) by supporting with the financial costs of equlpment and fees. Independent Living we support people who need resettlement or to live independently including the provision of small grants for white goods, appliances and furnishings. Discretionary Support we are able to provide discretionary support to people experiencing financial hardship including food shopping, clothing or utility bills. The decisions of the Trust are made by agreement of a majority of the Trustees. The Trustees are empowered by the Trust Deed to invest charitable funds at their absolute discretion. The financial policy of the Trust is to invest its funds in an interest-bearing account with the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church.
