The organi8alion aims lo all&vlale poveriy and reduce social excluslon through mayimizatlon of in¢om¢. Thè basic
phllosophy ol the Benefit Advice Shop is that everybDdy is enlilled lo fr09, prof¢sslonal, information, admce and
guidan¢0 on th8 Welfore Benefit System and Ihal su¢h a $eNi¢e is vital lo ensur8 Ihal Iha general public is properly
Inlormed and assi81ed with Iheir legal entlllemenls. We alm lo ensure that our seNices are accessible lo all people
regardless of location, age. disability, gender. iac8, sexual or1enlalion and religion or bellof.

So¢lal Se¢urlly Law specialist advice, a551Stanc¢ and support.
Thg 8enefil Advice Shop offers a seNlce of admce and assistance Ihrough tho maln office in Rhyl and in tho oslabllshed
weekly outreaches in Preslatyn and Colwyn Bay. Th8 organisation provldes a laco-lo-faco service appoinlm8nt servlce.

rneans and non means lesled beneflls ané ¢omplg1o lengthy disability forms. The servlce advlses and assists wilh
benefit premiums and passported benefils and can assist with DWP energy schemes and blue badge appll¢allons.
Tho organlsadon challenges negallva d¢d$ions, ov¢rpaymenls, sancllons, mlsvadvlce and underpayments. Tho
organis81ion will repfesenl clienls al Social Security Appeal Tribunals and can chaSleng6 a negative declsion in Ihe
Upper Tribunal. The Benefit Advice Shop conllnues lo be the main organisaiion In North Wales who will reprasenl at a
hearing.
The organlsauon is finding the coslwof-llving CfiSi$ conilnues lo have a great impact on the ¢ornmunlty and the riufflb8rs
of seNic8 users struggling to meet their basic needs continues lo increase.
In order lo proporly assist clients, il ￿$ wlal that Ihg Ben&fit Advl¢e Shop maintains a good professlonal relationship with
other agencies in tha area such as Foodbanks and independent money advi￿ centres. The Bonofit Advlce Shop
believes In strong nehvorkin9 and works alongslde and tske relerrals from other organlsations both locally ancj
nationally. Th¢ organisallon is cornmilted lo continuing lo forge $lrong links with L)Iher org8nisalions and Groups in the
Community. Plowever, the demand on the service and the reslticted resources available mean that it is not always
possible to Increase oulpul in all areas of servico provlsbn. The Benefit Advice Shop ¢onllnues lo face a serious Ihrgal
lo ils curront level of provlsion wlll cutbacks lo ils funding. Whilst tho organi881ion is w0￿1ng hafd to try and replace this
funding11 is funding il difficult.
The organisalion has continued lo recruit volunteers for the office and lor Ihe Board of Trustees. Throughout Ihe year
the staff and volunloers h3ve conlinued lo work effe¢liv91y for the community and have asslsted people lo maximise
their income who in lufn dr¢ulalo back money Into the local ewnomy Supportlng their local retail and leisur9 facllilies.
In 202412025 the staff and volunteers of the Benefit Advlce Shop engaged with 3,675 p¢ople and made confirmed
income gains of £6,625,621.90.The income gain is what the cliont wlll ro¢8ivg liom the whole beneni award we have
helped them lo apply lor or challenge and Includ¢s the ltsnglh ol the award. The figure includes any passported benefits
and piemiums Ihal the client is awaided liom getting them the orlginal benefit bul only il we know what they havo
received the passported beneflt or premium.
