Chairs Report
The school year was considerably busy with the running of events, along with some cancellations due to circumstances outside of our control, such as social distancing we were unable to go ahead with school discos. Some site restrictions meant we were unable to hold our summer fair, although we are convinced this will be back again in the very near future. It was fantastic to see the many events returning, such as the annual fireworks display, festive Christmas card designs, the regular Ice Cream sales for those sunny Fridays on the run up to the summer holidays and the sales of Adventure Island tickets, raising money for our cause whilst saving parents money on the purchasing price too.
There was some amazing new additions to the fundraising events this year. Our first smarties challenge was a huge hit and fantastic money maker. We ran a rainbow raffle, collecting donations from parents to create a variety of colourful hampers, donut sales and Halloween trails all contributed to our bottom figures. The Silver Fox kindly named us as their charity of choice, donating an incredible £1,500.
We continue to fund the Year 6 leavers hoodies as a gesture of thanks for the continued fundraising support they have shown over their time at Hurst. Class gifts provided for Christmas, along with funding some additional reusable cups / plates / bowls and jubilee food goodies for the celebratory picnic. New playground equipment was also purchased for both KS1 and KS2.
On behalf of the Parents Association, a huge thank you to all that have shown their support in our efforts to raise fund for this wonderful cause.
