|**Summary of the main**<br>**activities in relation to the**<br>**purposes for the public**<br>**benefit, in particular the**<br>**activities, projects or**<br>**services identified in the**<br>**accounts**|**Community Centre**<br>•<br>**Community Café**offering low-cost healthy meals with a 'pay as you like'<br>option to help relieve food deprivation and isolation. This is open to<br>anyone but primarily it is used by the elderly, unemployed, disabled, and<br>migrant communities. We further offer a 10-unit computer suite and<br>telephone systems to help the community access support or signposted<br>agencies such as the job centre, doctors, social and welfare services.<br>•<br>**Community Kitchen**enabling our community and other community<br>groups to cook in a safe and controlled environment. This is aimed at<br>relieving poverty and operates in the interests of social welfare. It is used<br>by children, young people, the elderly, migrant communities and<br>traveling communities. We teach food hygiene and healthy cooking to all<br>ages.<br>•<br>**Unemployment training**.<br>•<br>**Volunteer Program**. We run a volunteer program enabling members of<br>our community to serve the community in which they live. This teaches<br>life skills and offers training opportunities to the long term unemployed<br>as well as giving local pensioners, those who are disabled and those not<br>in work an opportunity to serve the community they live in. Our<br>volunteers help run all our activities, thereby enabling our objective.<br>**Essential Furniture & Swap Shop**<br>•<br>We run a ‘not for profit’ community enterprise that collects, donates and<br>redistributes recycled furniture. Over the last few months this has been<br>reduced due to not having a furniture manager in position.<br>•<br>The essential furniture and swap shop enables people who are in<br>situations of great need such as refugees, victims of domestic violence,<br>families on low incomes and many others to receive essential items of<br>furniture. We have a referral system enabling us to donate to people in<br>need. We also encourage those in need to alleviate their poverty by<br>giving volunteer hours or swapping something not essential for them for<br>something they consider essential. This profoundly breaks cycles of<br>deprivation, providing essential house hold furniture, reducing debt<br>while creating a sense of personal contribution, investment, and self-<br>worth.<br>**Elderly Club**<br>•<br>Our elderly group meet weekly to build relationships, overcome isolation<br>and improve life quality physically and mentally. We provide a varied<br>weekly programme of activities andprovide transport for those who|

We have provided 6-day trips, a couple of events,<br>provided 2-course meals each Friday lunch, and given out up to 60<br>seasonal food parcels at Harvest and Christmas.<br>**Children & Youth Groups**<br>•<br>Children and Youth Group activities were not active within the financial<br>year<br>**Summer Family Fun Night**<br>•<br>No Family Fun Nights for the year<br>**Community Events**<br>•<br>We had our usual full day Christmas extravaganza were children and<br>families could visit Santa and obtain lots of stocking fillers and presents<br>at extremely low cost. This is a fundraising event to raise funds to<br>purchase some Christmas goodies for up to 60 elderly residents in our<br>community.<br>**Community Garden**<br>•<br>The Community Garden and Seed to Supper project serves to break food<br>poverty and encourage healthy eating while teaching new skills. It<br>provides a space for community vegetable growing for children, young<br>people, adults from different backgrounds and the elderly reducing food<br>poverty, teaching citizenship skills and social inclusion.  The community<br>garden ran some children’s activities throughout the summer school<br>holidays.<br>**EB Samaritan’s Purse (Good Neighbour Fund)**<br>•<br>We offer emergency financial and food help to those in extreme difficulty<br>or hardship i.e., house fire, escaping domestic violence, burglary.<br>Reducingcycles of financialpoverty.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the<br>charity during the year.|The charity has continued to provide services and activities which help the<br>residents in the estates of north Hull. Every week the charity has worked with<br>children and young people, the elderly, families living in poverty, the long term<br>unemployed, asylum seekers and refugees, homeless people, ex-offenders and<br>those struggling with drug problems and mental health issues.<br>This has been achieved through several highly effective activities. Children and<br>young people have met more sporadically in smaller groups. We have run an<br>increasingly popular over 60’s club helping and assisting over 50 people, we run a<br>drop in café, community kitchen employment training alongside the furniture<br>and a swap shop enterprise for people in hardship. The ‘seed to supper’ program<br>is going well.  We continue to harvest the food from the garden and is used by<br>people within the community.<br>Our most popular event this year was our family fun night. This was carried out<br>over 10 weeks of the summer and gathered between 80 - 150 people per week.<br>The event enabled our communitytogather reducingisolation and|

discrimination. During the event we ran sports programs, singing performances and creative art sessions, we had a BBQ and bouncy castles. The family fun night has been held in a park notorious for crime. The event has seen a reduction in crime through these diversionary activities. 

Continuing through some covid-19 concerns we continue to assess how we can best serve our community during this difficult period. The food larder is now open 3 days a week with a delivery service of food parcels to those who are selfisolating or shielding.

**Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees of Eternal Benefits Limited** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Eternal Benefits Limited (the charity) for the year ending 31 March 2023. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity trustees of the charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or 

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
