Structure, Governance and Management
The constitution was adopted on 15[th] December 2000.

Aims
To advance the education of pupils by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities and equipment for the education of pupils with physical difficulties, severe and profound multiple learning difficulties and multi-sensory impairment at Fairfields Community Special School.
The activities and objectives of the organisation are to provide a rounded education, and to raise funds for the enrichment of the pupils attending the school.
Achievements and Performance
This year we have continued to raise funds to further the educational opportunities for the children.
There have been some excellent fundraising activities such as sponsored travel, Easter disco, summer raffles, Halloween disco and quiz sheets. The aim was to put this fundraising towards a new sensory room. The council will now be paying for this and therefore, the funds raised will be spent elsewhere.
The children have benefitted from subsidised school trips to Woburn Safari Park, Salcey Forest, Delapre Abbey, the Beehive and a boat trip. We have held a BBQ and celebration for our Year 6 leavers and provided with children with healthy snacks. Some of the fundraising has gone towards relocation and updating of our memorial garden for some of our pupils, staff and ex-pupils who have passed away.
The school also received funds from the local council to for new Hoists, a provision which is vital to our pupils with physical needs, and to make Fire Safety improvements due to an insurance inspection.
We have raised funds to enable us to run our “School for Parents” Conductive Education group for preschool children in the community with physical disabilities to enhance their physical skills and independence.
Future Plans
The aim for the future is to raise funds to go towards updates to our outdoor areas.
Our Finances
The principal income stream is the income made from running fundraising events for the parents and children of Fairfields School. Fairfields School Fund has no investments other than cash at bank. The Trustees have therefore considered it prudent that funds should be retained as cash and held in a bank account at the best rate of interest available.
The accounts contained in this report have been prepared in accordance with Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting for Charities (SORP, 2006) and with relevant companies and charities legislation and regulations. The receipts and payments method has been adopted in the preparation of the financial statements. The School Fund Trial Balance shows our gross income from all sources and how this income was expended.
Total income for 2024/2025 was £77439.90 due to capital donations from the local authority to the school. Total expenditure in the year was £72366.20. All trustees give their time freely and so no funds have been expended on governance of the charity. The accounts for the relevant period have been duly audited and no irregularities found. All money has been raised has been used to the benefit of the pupils of Fairfields School.
