## **1. Basis of preparation**
## 1.1 Basis of accounting
The Financial Statements are prepared under the Charity Commission SORP (FRS 102) applicable to Charities preparing their accounts on or after 1 January 2016.
## **2. Accounting policies**
## 2.1 Investment income
Investment income is accounted for in the period in which the charity is entitled to receipt.
## 2.2 Resources expended
Expenditure is included on an accruals basis.
Grants payable are charged in the year when the offer is conveyed to the recipient except in those cases where the offer is conditional, such grants being recognised as expenditure when the conditions attaching are fulfilled. Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year end are noted as a commitment, but not accrued as expenditure.
## 2.3 Administration and Financial Work
All the administrative and financial work relating to the Charity is carried out by officers of Burnley Borough Council. No charge is made for these services.

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the period ended 18 May 2022. which are set out on
pages 5t0 8.

The charitvs trustee5 are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charitys trustees

(the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination Is needed.

My examination was carried out in accordan with the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission.
An examinatlon Includes a review of accounting records kept by the chaiity and a comparlson
of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items
or di5cIosure5 in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such
matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an
audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts pnt a 'true and fair
