3. Objectives and Activities
The charity’s principal objective is the advancement of education for pupils at Mikoroshoshoni Primary School in Kenya.
To achieve this, the charity:

Provides financial support to improve access to education.

Supports essential welfare needs (such as meals) only where these directly enable children to

attend school and learn effectively.
● Maintains regular communication with contacts at the school to ensure funds are used appropriately.
- Raises funds through donations, community support, and Gift Aid.
All activities are carried out to further the educational development and wellbeing of pupils.

The charity’s work improves educational access, attendance, and attainment for children in Mikoroshoshoni. Welfare support is provided only where it removes barriers to learning and enables pupils to benefit fully from education.

Net Movement in Funds
The charity recorded a net deficit of £3,551.72 for the year. This reflects planned spending on educational support in Kenya that exceeded income received during the period.
Reserves
The opening balance on 1 April 2025 was £20,914.72 . After income and expenditure, the closing balance at 31 March 2026 was £17,362.83 .
The trustees aim to maintain reserves of between £1,000 and £2,000 to ensure continuity of support ‑ and manage fluctuations in income. The year end reserves remain within acceptable levels for a small charity.
7. Governance and Management
The charity has no paid staff and is run entirely by volunteers. Funds are transferred directly to Mikoroshoshoni Primary School in Kenya to support educational and welfare activities. Risk is reviewed annually, focusing on financial controls and safeguarding. The trustees collectively oversee financial management, fundraising, transfers to Kenya, and compliance with UK charity law.
No trustee received any payment or personal benefit during the year.
