Middleton Village Hall Year Ended 31 March 2021

Due to government guidelines and COVID restrictions all fund raising activities had to be
cancelled dtjring the year ended March 2021. Although the Pilates classes carried on for a
while the other classes and private hire was minimal ènd the total hire income for the whole
year amounted to only £400.￿ rather than the near £3.0(K).00 of the previous years.
We are grateful to EROYC forthe COVID 19 Precaution grants of £219.20 which enabled us
to put in place all the necessary safety measL£res eg sanitisers. pedal bins, PPE etc.
We also applied for. and were granted COVID grants from EROYC of £20.IX12.43 to cover the
running costs of the h311.
We received a legacy from Mrs Bradley of £IO.QMXI.00 with which the kitchen was
refurbished and a new oil central heating boiler installed.
Further to these grants. £3.950.(K) of funding was successfully applied for from HEY Smile
Foundation for roof repairs, elettrical work and a replacement door.
The Lottery Community Fund agreed a grant of £6,476.(JJ to install a dropped ceiling to help
with the very poor acoustics and to reduce heating costs with low energy led lighting and to
also install cavity wall insulation.
Because of the difficulties getting contractors. partly due to the general COVID restrictions,
the work was not carried out during this financial year but. as we can all see. is now finished
and we have a very smart and efficient Willage Hall.
A big thank you must go to Denise for her hard work in sourcing and applying forthi5
funding.
The proceeds from Amazon Smile amounted to £33.75. A small sum but every little helpsl
Maybe more local residents could be encouraged to switch from Amazon to Amazon Smile
and ch005e Middleton Village Hall as their p￿ferred charity.

The independent examiners were not aware when they examined the accounts that a report was required (our income is normally under £10,000 per annum but we have had government COVID grants plus lottery funding etc this year it has exceeded £25,000).  I am still waiting for their reports. 

I rang the Charities Commission and spoke to Tracy who advised me to submit the accounts and trustee reports and send the examiners’ reports in when I have received them.
