staff and families.|| ||||||||Like others, we have had to find different|| ||||||||ways of reaching
out to our families,
and|| ||||||||we have increased
our social media|| ||||||||presence to reflect this. We held our first|| ||||||||'remote'
raffle at Christmas,
and still|| ||||||||managed
to raise almost F1000,with|| ||||||||members
ofthe local community
supporting|| ||||||||this via our Facebook page. Other|| ||||||||Agencies such as Pass it on Parents,
and|| ||||||||Accessible sporting
clubs are signposting|| ||||||||groups,
information
and events on our|| ||||||||social media page and parents
have|| ||||||||commented
how useful this is in hei
in|| ||||||them
find appropriate
activities for their| |---|---|---|---|---|---| ||||||children to enjoy.| ||||||Our reputation
for supporting
disabled| ||||||children was also recognised
when we
were donated f30,500 by the League of| ||||||Friends at Newcastle
Freeman
Hospital,| ||||||whose Charity,
sadly, was closed and the| ||||||Trustees and Charity Commission
agreed| ||||||to transfer some oftheir remaining
funds| ||||||over to us. We were overwhelmed
at this| ||||||unexpected
donation,
which could not have| ||||||arrived at a more opportune
time, as we| ||||||had just begun our fundraising
mission to| ||||||build a new hydrotherapy
pool for the| ||||||school. This will be a major project and the| ||||||FOH has spent considerable
time preparing| ||||||for some serious fundraising
over the next| ||||||two years and will involve collaboration
with| ||||||Local Businesses as well as Grant finding.| ||||||This initiative has already created local and| ||||||national
interest and has been reported
in| ||||||several

to strength

children
and young adults

and around
the region.
The|| |||||||Trustees have worked
with the school to|| |||||||draw up a fundraising
campaign,
starting|| |||||||mainly
in the Financial Year 2021 -2022.|| |||||||However,
we were thrilled to kick start this|| |||||||during
this Reporting
period
with an|| |||||||unexpected
and welcome donation
of230,|| |||||||500 from the League of Friends from|| |||||||Newcastle
Freeman
Hospital. We were|| |||||||overwhelmed
when we found out that they|| |||||||had recommended
our Charity to receive|| |||||||some of their remaining
funds as they|| |||||||closed their Charity.
Many of our children|| |||||||have benefitted
from the League offriends|| |||||||generosity
in the past, particularly
with their|| |||||||contribution
to providing
medical equipment|| |||||||at the hospital,
and we are proud to|| |||||||continue
their work.|| |||||||We were also extremely
grateful
to the|| |||||||friends,
family and local community
ofone|| |||||||of our young
pupils,
Lucy, whose|| |||||||grandparents
organised
a coffee morning|| |||||||for us. They raised an incredible F3,254.17!|| |||||||We were also pleased that we were able|to| |||||||provide some hardship
vouchers
for some|| |||||||of our very vulnerable
families during the|| |||||||third lockdown,
thatnks
to the generosity|of| |||||||a local businessman,
who wished
to remain|| |anonymous
and who had seen the work we| |---| |do via our Facebook Page. The gentleman| |approach
the FOH and asked
if he could| |donate funds to provide
help for families| |who were struggling
due to the Pandemic.| |Once again, thanks to a810.000 donation| |from the FOH, the school's internal
quad| |playground
is back to it's former glory with| |the softpore replaced
and safe for another| |10years! The FOH originally
provided

for this accessible playground,
so it| |was lovely to be able to help the school| |keep it a safe and attractive
place for the| |children
to play.| |We are very grateful
to all those who have| |ran, swam, cycled, hiked and participated| |in a huge range offundraising
activities| |over the last year. Thanks to their efforts,
we received f8097.37from our JustG!ving| |page.| |We were unable to hold our usual family| |Xmas Fayre in December,
due to COVID| |restrictions.
However,
resourceful
staff,| |families and volunteers
came up with an| |amazing
'National
Elf day', where
all the| |staff and children dresses
up as Elves and| |carried out a sponsored
event
in their own| |bubbles. We had sponsored
bounces on| |the trampoline,
swimming
in the hydro pool| |and an ElfTrail around
the school! The| |children
absolutely
loved this, and we| |raised an amazing
R4,503on the day.| |Once again, we would
like to extend our| |sincere gratitude
to all those who support| |our Charity and enable us to make a| |difference
to the Hadrian
School| |Community.
A special mention
again must| |go to our friends at Blakelaw Social Club,| |who never stop supporting
us, even during| |these difficult financial times.| |Next year will, hopefully
look very different!| |I retired at the end of December and think,| |after over 21 years as Chairperson,
