The trustees were co-opted by the PTA committee. They will hold their position until they stand down or are requested to stand down. 

This charity exists solely for the purpose of raising funds for St Thomas CEP School.

The trustees’ present their report and financial statements for the 12 months to 31[st] August 2023. 

The charity adopted their current constitution on Wednesday 2[nd] April 2014. 

Members of the School Association are made up of parents/carers of children attending the school, governors and teaching staff. 

The management of the Association is vested in a Committee. 

The Committee consists of a Chairperson, a Treasurer and a Secretary, along with other members. 

The officers are elected annually at The Annual General Meeting held in October each year. 

## **Charity Purpose/Objectves** 

This charity exists solely for the purpose of raising funds for St Thomas CEP School Association. Its objective in raising those funds is for the support of school activities and resources and for the organisation of fundraising events to contribute to the health of the school community.

## **Charity Actvites** 

In the year to 31[st] August 2023, the Association undertook numerous fundraising events and activities, continuing to garner great support from the school community. 

Fundraising events included regular Friday Sales, Pub Quiz, School Discos, School Ball, Fashion evening, and various events around Christmas, Easter and Halloween. 

Donations made to the school were £29,389 and went towards curriculum resources, I.T. resources, the Library redevelopment project, the EYFS playground redevelopment, and SEN resources.

## **Financial Review** 

The Association had funds carried forward of £26,092.02 as of 01 September 2023. 

The Association has a reserves policy to hold funds for financing the main fundraisers of the approaching year, these being the Mayfair (£4,500) and the annual Ball (£3,500). 

The Association has agreed to fund £13000 towards capital contribution and IT packages and subscriptions, agreed in financial year end August 2023 but not yet donated to the school.

## **To the Trustees of ST THOMAS' CEP SCHOOL ASSOCIATION A Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO)** 

We report on the Financial Statements of the CIO for the year ended 31st August 2023 as Independent Examiners under section 145(1)(a) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). 

## **Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner.** 

The Trustees are responsible for maintaining accounting records under section 130 of the 2011 Act to enable the preparation of the Financial Statements. The Trustees consider that an audit is not required for the year under section 145(1)) of the 2011 Act and that an independent examination is needed. 

It is our responsibility to: 

- examine the financial statements under section 130 of the 2011 Act 

- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act and 

- to state whether particular matters have come to our attention. 

## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report** 

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the Financial Statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the Financial Statements, and seeking explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and, consequently, no opinion is given as to whether the Financial Statements present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. 

## **Independent Examiner’s Statement** 

In connection with our examination no matter has come to our attention which 

(1) gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act and to prepare Financial Statements which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act has not been met or 

(2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn under section 156 of the 2011 Act in order to enable a proper understanding of the Financial Statements to be reached.
