## **Trustees Report For KGV Patterdale 2021-22**

## **Charity Number: 1084713**

The beginning of this financial year was again affected by COVID however the new Pavilion has now been completed and was formally opened by Graham Gooche OBE in January 2022. As well as opening the Pavilion Graham Gooche hosted the fundraiser at the Inn on the Lake (which was originally due to be held in 2019 before COVID) which was a great success.

As a result of on- going COVID restrictions there were a reduced number of football and cricket fixtures in 2021 and the annual Ullswater Country Fair and Patterdale Dog day were both cancelled again. The voluntary car park has remained open when restrictions have allowed and has once again contributed to our fund- raising efforts, with increasing numbers of people visiting the lakes due to overseas travel restrictions.

The Patterdale Tennis Club with support from the KGV Trustees raised the money required through grants and donations to finally have the tennis courts refurbished. The courts are now fully open to locals and visitors alike and the tennis club offers lessons as well as social tennis sessions. The new courts are multi- sport so offer tennis, basketball and netball and the local primary school now use the courts every week for both tennis and netball practice. The KGV Trustees would like to thank the Patterdale Tennis Club Committee for all their hard work in getting this project completed.

Now that COVID is hopefully behind us we hope that there will be a resumption of events at the pavillion benefitting both locals and visitors to the area.

Finally a very big thank you to all the volunteers who have donated their time and expertise in order to finish the construciton of our new Pavillion and who continue to support the KGV Trustees in maintaining and improving the KGV Playing Field facilities.
