Aim & Purpose
New Life Revival Church-Liverpool (NLRC) is situated in Lorenzo Drive, in the Norris Green area of the city and provides support and spiritual wellbeing of the community for a diverse mix of ages and ethnicity that reflects the changing nature of Norris Green and Liverpool.
Objectives and activities
NLRC is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at our church and to support our local community. NLRC church services and worship are continually reviewed with the view that the many groups that live within our area can participate. Our services and worship based on biblical principles put faith into practice through prayer, scripture, and music.
When planning our activities for the year NLRC have considered the Commission’s guidance on public benefit and the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. In particular we try to enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part of our community through:
-
Worship and prayer; learning about the Gospel; and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus.
-
Provision of pastoral care for church members and people living in the local community.
-
Missionary and outreach work.
With the removal of restrictions in 2022 the building and meetings were resumed within the main NLRC Liverpool building in Lorenzo drive Norris Green as well as online via Youtube for the members. The repairs and maintenance of the building was kept up during the 2022 year and a works building maintenance log has been retained with priority works assigned.
Achievements and Performance
Worship and Prayer
NLRC continued throughout the 2022 year with several services and activities each week. Meeting on Sundays were in live format in location at Lorenzo Drive. These Sunday meetings were also live streamed online so members who choose not to attend in person may not miss out. However, as the COVID virus was still being transmitted, and in order to protect the more vulnerable members, mid-week meetings were kept via Zoom format for the rest of the year.
The average weekly attendance was slightly decreased as some members preferred to attend online, to approximately 40 for Sunday Worship meetings in the building and with approximately 8-10 families represented online.

Mid-week evening meetings – these continue to be more intimate and provide a reflective environment for worship for the congregation. In 2022 these were returned to being held in the location.
-
In our Sunday morning meetings, our worship team comprised of youth members was led by our worship pastor. Meetings are both open to the public and online via streaming channels. This provides opportunities to invite friends, family and colleagues to experience church in a different format.
-
On Sunday mornings we also have our Children’s Ministry. “The Children’s Church” ministers to our children aged between 3 and 10 years of age.
-
We also provide a creche on Sunday morning offering a suitable area for toddlers to play.
-
Our Youth and Children’s Ministries continue to draw good numbers every week.
Youth Work – Fusion
The Fusion Youth ministry has been impacted up to February 2022 by Covid lockdown restrictions, however when restrictions to meet were lifted, we started the process to get together again.
We have been meeting on Sunday mornings and Friday evenings. We seek to provide an inclusive and safe environment for young people to enjoy each other’s company through fun and social events. We also discuss and teach a variety of subjects including: the basics of the Christian life, but very conscious of subjects that affect young people. As an example, we gave a lot of time to anxiety and mental health issues and continue to do so.
We also organise social events like ice skating, ten pin bowling and dedicated social evenings where we can play pool, badminton, archery, and Nintendo games.
Fusion is our youth ministry, which caters for young people from 11 to 18 years of age We usually meet on Sunday mornings and some Friday evenings. We have on average, about 12 young people in the group. We seek to bring to life an active faith in Jesus and his teaching for life. With more of our group coming back to church after Covid, we have also focussed on activities that bring us together and get the group to know each other better. Activities include things like ice skating, laser tag etc. This has been beneficial as friendships have been made and barriers broken down. Friday Fusion nights have also been successful, allowing us to talk about current issues for youth and just having a bit of fun and games.
Kids Church
Our Kids Church Ministry was impacted by Covid lockdown restrictions, but as the Church reopened in February 2022 with all restrictions lifted, we were able to recommence Kids Church. We hold this ministry during the main service time on Sunday mornings. We currently draw 6-10 kids a week.

Buzz Tots – Toddler Group
Our successful Buzz Tots ministry is a toddler group which caters for 0-4 year olds. The ministry runs twice per week; Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The ministry provides young parents and grandparents a place to bring their little ones, where they can play safely in a relaxed atmosphere. We also seek to stimulate the little ones with some crafts and provide a healthy drink and snack too. We generally have 15 to 20 children at each session
At each session we provide a wide variety of toys to play with. Children also enjoy our craft activities, making cards and pictures. We also provide a healthy snack for the children and provide tea and coffee for the parents, a good chance for a chat and provide some support if need be. Our Christmas and summer parties are also very well attended.
As well as helping toddlers relate to each other, Buzz Tots also serves to support new mums by giving them someone to talk to about the challenges of bringing up a child and provides a place to make friends.
Mission and Evangelism
Throughout the year, members continued to invite friends and family to worship with us during the week. We did focus our evangelism and outreach to two key events, spaced out to cover the year with plans to expand them in the 2023 year, if possible.
-
Church BBQ – In July, NLRC planned an advertised BBQ for the neighbourhood. We provided free food, activities for children and young people, arts and craft and live music. This was a means of getting people together so we can showcase who we are and what we have been doing in the community. This usually attracts a wide spectrum of individuals some of whom may continue to worship with us.
-
Santa’s Grotto – During the Christmas season , we as a church family decided to open up the church so that resource limited families can bring their kids to our sessions of Santa’s Grotto. The hall was skilfully converted to the North Pole with reindeers and sleighs, with a large grotto for Santa himself. We also included a Nativity scene to remind all of the Reason for the season.
Our partnership with the charity: Houses of Promise (HOPE-UK) (1194658) - mission to support and help the underprivileged children in Kent, Sierra Leone with the establishment of an orphanage in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, with its fair share of civil wars, national disasters, and epidemics, remained important to our vision. The continued funding arranged and transferred as part of the decisions of the members (who ring fenced gifts throughout the year) and with Trustee support and decisions for specific building activities.

Trustees’ Annual Report
Emerging from COVID restrictions in 2022 meant the work can be scaled up again to achieve a steady progress and make up for the time lost during the pandemic. As we approach completion of the construction, the funds raised were geared towards making the finished product fit-for-purpose and to attempt to drill a bore-hole water well. On completion, this project will greatly benefit both the children and their communities.
This is in line with the church’s vision of fruitfulness and multiplication; a compassionate, concerned people reaching into all areas of society.

In the Kids Church we aim to bring Christian teaching through a mixture of stories, games, crafts and object lessons. Also supporting our children through life’s challenges with encouragement and strategies to help them.
