## **Trustees Annual Report December 2020**

The Charity during 2019 & 2020 has undertaken several major projects and several smaller projects in our area of Ozarichi and Kalinkovichi districts of Gomel Region, Belarus.

Raising money is always difficult and time consuming and is still particularly difficult due to the Covid situation, but with the help of many people, organisations, and companies we were able once again to raise enough money and obtain materials to undertake and complete all our planned projects.

- 1) The renovation of the kitchen of the Kindergarten No 15 Ozarichi using materials sent in the container.

- 2) The purchase of new school desks, chairs, and beds at the Kindergarten No 15 in Ozarichi

- 3) Our child Sponsorship scheme is continuing, and we help approximately 350 children directly by the provision of support.

- 4) The Charity is still carrying out food-drops and other assistance and helping 700 children approximately indirectly through assistance to the schools via our Aid Lorries.

- 5) The charity sent one 40 foot container of Humanitarian Aid in June 2020

- 6) The Charity sent twelve children in August 2020 to the Sanatorium for a twenty day respite care holiday within Belarus.

- 7) The charity paid for wood logs for the winter fuel for fifteen of the needier families

The charities financial situation has remained stable and we are looking forward to an increase in the next financial year.

The charities continued success in Belarus is largely down to our sponsors, volunteers and our agent, Nina and our Interpreter Vera in Belarus. It is also due to the excellent understanding that has been forged over the last fifteen years with our Official Receiver of Aid Tatiana Teterich the newly appointed Chief Education Officer Inna Gubar the Chief Customs Officer and many other officials and the local communities of Kalinkovichi district.

CCIN has a policy wherever possible to carry out joint ventures with relevant local authorities and has an interest in projects that will benefit the children's health and the community for several years or will be selfsustaining and generate benefits to not only the poor children but also their families. In the year, ahead we have a number of varied projects to undertake, including toilets in the Dudhich Kindergarten, refurbishment of the food preparation room in the kitchens in the Kalinkovichi Orphanage, a container of humanitarian Aid, and respite care holidays within Belarus.

These projects will only be undertaken if the projects cannot be funded by local authorities due to their lack of budget.

The charity will also continue with smaller projects, such as the provision of winter fuel to poor families, the provision of livestock and clothing when and where possible. We will send a humanitarian aid container to support the children of School No 1, Orphanage No 8, Ozarichi Main school, and minor aid to Ozarichi Hospital and Ozarichi Kindergarten.
