Onward Christian Centre is a family-based church. Our purpose is mainly to help the local community.
New trustees are appointed by existing trustees. I can confirm that the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. We do not have any custodian trustees.
As all donations are kept being used as needed, we do not hold any reserves and our position at the end of the financial year is stable. We do not have any debts.
We are a busy community church which runs a variety of different community activities that change according to the relevant needs at the time. This year we have a regular men’s breakfast group, and a ladies afternoon group. We hold a fortnightly extended Sunday meeting where congregation members bring food, which we share with any people who may come into our church. We also hold other various meetings from time to time.
Anyone who comes along can have snacks and a drink in an informal setting with a friendly atmosphere. Our church members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and we often can point people in the right direction should they require specialised help. All are welcome to our activities and church services.
Due to the problems with covid we now also hold some of our meetings on zoom as well as in our church building. This benefits the housebound or those who are ill, or not ready to join groups of people outside their own homes. It helps them not to feel too isolated. We also donate items to local charities.

Independent Examinerfs Report - Onward Christian Centre I have pleasure in reporting on the Accounts of the Onward Christlan Centre for the year ended 30 April 2024. In accordance with my examination. no matter has come to my attention whlch gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:. l. To keep accountlng records in accordance with Section 41 of the Act, and 2. To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the requlrements of the Act, as also contained in the Church Accounting Regulatlons 1997 have not been met. No other matter has come to my attentlon in connection with my examination to whlch, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
