The charrtable company was incorporated on 11th October 2Th)O and has adopted Mernorandum and
Artides in place of a Tfust Deed.
The Charity's objects areto supportand assisttheA5hmolean Museum and in furtherance thereofto engage
in such Charitab￿ activities as may enrieh the collectiws ofthe Museum orotherwise enhancs its usèfulness
as an institution for teaching, research and public enjoytnent connected wrth art and antiquity.
The Elias Ashmole Trust is governed by a body of 4 to 10 individu81s who ar8 member5 of the cha¥ity and
who constitute rjirectors for Ihe purpose of company legislation and Irust88s for the purposss ol charity
I￿l$latIon.
The Trust meets approximately three times a year to consider reports from the 01￿CtOr and Management
Team and reviews mernber5hip policies. Furthetmoie, the Trust adv15es the Museum on membership
fundraising and 8ctyMties and oversees the proposa15 trorn The Ashmolean Collectsve Group previously
called the Trades¢ant Patrons Advisory Comfflittee and the Elias A5hmole GrDUP C￿￿mittee.
The role olthe Trust is non-execulive and voluntary-. The Trust may. at any time. appoint a new trustee and
5anclions the directors, appointment ol new trustees The airn is to achieve a balsncE of skills and
experience in the Trust relevaN to the objectives of the charity.
