TRUSTEES REPORT 2020-2021
Earfybirds Preschool has continued to provide high quality, child focused earfy years
education du ring the report period. We have been be￿een lockdowns through the
past yearand now providing early years education while adhering to social
distsncing and"bubbles"within setting.As an early years educxtion setting, we have
been supporting children through the challenges1hat loCkdo￿￿S have presented
them. including social developmenL
Over Ihe course of thisyear. we have had 28 children in setbng which is an increase
from the previous year. Ourstaff team of 4 induded one memberthat"shielded-
during Ihe Covid-19 pandemic howeverhas been consistentthrough the year and
this is reflected in the increase in numberof children attending.
Management Committee
The Committee remained unchanged over the yearand continued to supportlhe
provision of the preschool with their expertise and involvement
The preschool was Ofsted inspected in September 2019 and the Leader rnanaged
Ihe preschool team to r￿n￿'n￿e to deliver the earty years provision while continually
monitoring and reviewing Ihe standards within setting againstlhe setting
development plan.
Children's data has continued to be monitored for areas of improvement and leaming
& development opporknnib'es within the staff team.
The preschool continues to receive positive feedback from parents and guardians.

Stsffing
We have an established strff team with Leader, Deputy Leader, Administrator wilh 1
members of staff.
We were fo￿nate to have a student pla￿mentwlth us during this time who took on
paid hourswhen needed. This helped with consislency during lockdowns.
Agency staff fees have been used to cover sickness absen￿ where required but this
is anticrpated to redu￿.
Following Ihe Coronavirus pandemic, Volunteers have not been reestablished in
setting. This may be reviewed in the fU￿re.

Accounts
The n umber of ch [1d￿n in setting has been high and Iherefore the preschool has
generated a healthy income along with the local authority Earfy Years Funding, we
continue to be financially stable.
The expensesassociated with maintaining hygiene guidelines during the pandemic
were a significant cosL especially PPE.
The preschool started to offer breakfast dub and after school dub to working
parentslguardian's which provides further income for the preschool while serving as
essential childcareforworkingfarnilies.The financial benefitof thiSservi￿ continu&5
to be mnitored and evaluated to ensure its u)st effectiveness.
tside Actlvilies
We are fortunate enough to enjoy a rural environmenc with the children visiting our
school playground, thurch and village area on a regular basis.
We were unable to provide our usual seasonal activities due to the pandemic
restrictions. We celebrdted activities for a week so all children in °bubbles" were
includ8d.
Fundraising
All fundraising aclivities were Can￿lled due to the pandemic restrictions so we have
had no income from fundraising this year.
