The trustees present their reF)Ort and acmunts for the peri￿ ended 29 February 2024.
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting polities set out in note I to the accounts and
comply with the chartty's governing document. the Charities kn 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice,
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities" applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordancÈ with the
Financial Reporting Stsndèrd applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 effettive l January 2015.

Objectives. aclivitie5 and achlevements
The Broome Family Charitable Trust was eslablished in February 20(K) by Mrs Beryl Whittaker as a trust entity. The
objectives of the Trust a5 set out in the Declaration of Trust are to apply the whole of its income and capital for the
benefit of such exclusively charrtable causes as the trustees may. in their absolute discretion. think fit.
During the year 72 charitieslresearch organisations have recewed don*ions amounting to £1.164,150.
Financial Review
At the 6alance Sheet date. the Trust held cash reserves of £1.914.861 available to be distributed as cnaritable
donations and unlisted investments with a value of £J.268.789.
Rlsk Management
The trustees have assessed the maior risks to which the charity is exposed. and are satisfied that systems are in
place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. All payments made by the Trust require the dual authorlsation of both
Trustee5 to mitigate any risks with the use of the Trust funds.
Plans for Future Period
The trustees will continue to attively seek to identify worthwhile charitable causes to receive donations from the
Trust.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees. Report and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Account Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice)
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each
financial year which gives a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of its incoming resource5 and
application of resources for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to..

We have audited the financial statements of Broome Family Charitable Trust Ithe'charitable tnJsVI for the year
ended 29 February 2024 which comprise the Statement of Fir)ancial Activities. the Balance Sheet and notes to the
financial statements, including a summary of significant accounting wlicies. The financial reporting framework that
has been applied in their preparation is applicable law and Untted Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom
G•nerally Accepted Accountin8 Practice).
This report is made solely to the Charitvs Trustees. as a body. in accordance wtth Section 144 of the Charities Act
2011 and the regulations made under sertion 154 of that Att. Our audit work has been undertzken so that we might
state to the Charitvs Trustees those matters we are reouired to state to them in an auditorfs report and for no other
purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law. we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the
Charitys Trustees as a body. for our audit work. for this reporL or for the opinions we have fomed.
In our opinion the financi31 statements:
give a true and fair view of the Charitys affairs as at 29 February 2024 and of its incoming resources and
application of resources. including its result. for the year then ended-
have been properly prepared in ￿cOrdanCe wtth United Kingdom Generally Accepted Actounting practice- and
have been prepared in accordante with the requirements of the Charities Art 2011.

We conducted our audr( in accordance wrth International Standards on Auditing (UK) IISAS IUKII and applicable law.
Our responsibilities uiider ih05e 5tandard5 are further described in the Audltors responslbllltles for the aud t of the
financial statements section of our report. We are independent of the charitable trnst in accordance with the ethical
requirements that are relevant to our audit of the finantial statements in the UK, including the FRC'S Ethical
Standard, and we have fulfilled our other ethical resporksibiltties in ￿(Ordance with these requirements. We believe
that the audit evidence we have obtaine(l is sufficient and appropriate to provide o basis for our opinion.
Conclusion5 relating to going ioncern
We have nothing to report in respett of the following matters in relation to which the ISAS IUKI require us to report
to you where..
the trustees, use of the going concern basis of accounting in the preparation of the finanthal statements is not
appropriate- or
the trustees have not disclosed in the financial statements any identified Material uncertaintie5 that may cast
significant doubt about the charivs ability to continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting for a
period of at least twelve months from the date when the financial statements are authorised for issue.

The trustees are responsible for the other information. The other inforniation comprises the information included in
the annual report, other than the financial statements and our Report of the Independent Auditors thereon.
Our opinion on the financial statements does not cover the other infomiation and we do not express any form of
assurance conclusion thereon.
In connettion with our audit of the financial statements, our responsibility is to read the other information and. in
doing 50, consi(ler whether the other information is materially inconsistent with the financial statements, or our
knowledge obtained in the audit or otherwise appears to be materially misstated. If, based on the work we have
performed, we conclude that there is a material misstatement of this other information. we are ￿qUired to report
that fact. We have nothing to ￿port in this regard.

In our opinion. based on the work undertaken in the course of the audit=
the information given in the Rewrt of the Trustees for the financial year for which the financial statements are

In light of the knowledge and understanding of the charfcable trust and its environment obtained in the course of
the audit, we have not identified material misstatements in the ReFXIrt of the Trustees.

continue as a going concern, disclosin& as applicable, matters related to going concern and using the going concern
basis of accounting unless the trustees either intend to wind up the charitable trust Of to cease operations. or have

Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from
material misstatement. whether due to fraud or error, and to issue a Report of the Independent Auditors that

ACCOUIITING POUCIES
Basis of preparation
The financial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been
prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reporting by Charitie5:
Statement of Recommended Prattice applicable to charities preparin8 their accounts in
accordance wrth the Financial Reportin8 Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS 1021 (effective l January 2015),. FinancialReporting Standard 102'The Financial Reportln8
Standard applicable in the UK and Repiblic of Ireland, and thecharities Act 2011. The financial
statements have been prepared under the hstorical cost convention.
The charity has taken advantage of the following disclosure exemptions in preparing these
financlal Statements. as permitted by FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the

Investment assets
Investments are ststed at market value. Realised and unrealised gains and losses on investments

Income
Income is reported gross, and is shown in detail on page 5 as incoming resources.
Donations and gifts
Donations and gifts are accounted for when the resources are receivable or when the charity's
entitlement is leg3lly enforceable. with the exception of gift5 in kind. Such gifts in kind include
the transfer of assets from other charities a￿1 organisations, which are not shown In the financial
statements dueto the difficulty in quantifyirg and valuingthem.
Expenditure
Costs directly relating to the objectrves of the charity are induded in charitable activities.
