To provide for the relief of persons suffering from psychological, emotional or spiritual distress through the provision of a comprehensive service of pastoral care and counselling
To provide training to people of faith and those with a humanistic counselling ethos to enable them to work as counsellors and supervisors for counsellors and pastoral carers.

SECTION D ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
During the year, The Haven has increased the number of counsellors it uses, with 28 now on our books, Between them, they have seen 127 clients during the year.
We have been using paid assessors to do the initial meetings with clients prior to allocating them to counsellors. We have also employed a deputy manager for a few hours a week to assist the manager.
We have reviewed our policies and procedures and have started asking counsellors on placement with The Haven to commit to at least a year with us, to be fair to the clients they are seeing.
The Haven has strengthened its links with the community this year, getting involved with the Northwest Leicestershire Mental Health Network, attending the Mental Health Roadshow, going to the Wellbeing café and attending the Eco fair at All Saints, Thorpe Acre in Loughborough.
The Haven continues to have a great reputation with clients and counsellors. One client described the counselling he received as ‘life changing’.
