## **Governing Document**
Eagle’s Nest Church Arnold adopted the Assemblies of God Model Trust Deed dated 30 March 2000 and amended 7 May 2006.
## **Objectives of the Charity**
The objectives of Eagle’s Nest Church Arnold are for the benefit of the public:
- a) To advance the Christian faith in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time may think fit; and
- b) To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind including through the provision of counselling and support in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time think fit; and
- c) To advance education in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church council from time to time may think fit.
## **Scope**
Eagle’s Nest Church exists to impact the town of Arnold, Nottingham by building community and making a tangible, positive difference to the residents of Arnold. Also we support development projects in other countries where we have built relational links. Finally our purpose is to facilitate a vibrant, growing church in Arnold.
## **Activities and Achievements**
2021 has continued to be a year significantly impacted by Covid-19. From January until Easter we held online services. We were able to broadcast live on YouTube from The Redhill Academy. On Easter Sunday we met to sing and worship in the car park and then moved inside for the rest of the service, where mask wearing was required. Government Legislation was followed at all times.
## **Sunday Services**
From Easter the congregation was invited to join us for in-person services which included the usual restrictions: booking in for church, mask wearing, social distancing, sanitising and no singing. But we did arrange some outdoor services where singing was allowed
## **Kids and Youth**
Our kids and youth programs were able to resume in a careful and safe manner in 2021. Eagle’s Kids was able to run on Sundays where up to 20 children attended for games, activities and teaching. Our young people attended the DTI Youth Festival in Nottingham during August 2021.

## **Hubs**
Attendees of Eagle’s Nest Church are also invited to join a mid-week group of around 6-10 members. These were a mix of online and in-person groups during 2021.
## **Community**
Our community support focused on a shopping scheme for those shielding during the pandemic. Volunteers from Eagle’s Nest would shop on behalf of individuals and the payments would be reimbursed through our Covid-19 Restricted fund. Craft packs were also posted to our children’s club members during the Lockdown.
Partnering with a number of other Arnold Churches, and organised under guidance from Trussell Trust, we are also involved in running a local Foodbank Scheme. The Arnold Foodbank was an invaluable resource to many people in the pandemic. Food donations were high and the Foodbank Team switched to delivering food parcels to prevent mixing between Foodbank recipients.
In addition, we are partnered with Hope into Action helping to deliver practical support for families suffering the threat of homelessness, by providing housing, counselling, befriending and other essential services.
## **Financial Review**
The total income for 2021 of £105,842 was predominantly provided by the generous donations of the members of Eagle’s Nest Church. This included restricted donations of £16,729. Expenditure for 2021 totalled £92,592. Careful monitoring of charity’s income and expenditure meant that we ended 2021 with a year end balance of £62,487.
In total 79% (£73,480) of our expenditure was spent on the regular church activities including Sunday church, Hubs, pastoral care and the general running of the church. 21% (£19,113) was spent on external community people and projects both locally and overseas.

## **Reserves and Investment Policy**
The Church Council have established a policy whereby the unrestricted funds not committed should be ideally three months of the resource required.
The Trustees consider the returns on investment to be satisfactory.
## **Governance**
The Eldership provides spiritual oversight of the church. The Elders of the church appoint Trustees and the Trustees collectively form the Church Council. The legal authority is placed in the Church Council.

## **Grant-making Policy**
Grants are made to associated charities with compatible objectives and to individuals with needs that fall within the scope of our charitable objectives.
## **Review of Major Risks**
After a review of the risks, the Church Fellowship Insurance Policy, Data and Safeguarding Policy were updated.
## **Volunteers**
We would like to thank all the volunteers who work hard to make our church the lively and vibrant gathering it is and also for running community events that make a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of people and families in the town of Arnold.
## **Supported Charities**
Eagle’s Nest Church has existing partnerships with various charities involved in mission work and community transformation both locally and worldwide. In particular:
## _Eagle's Nest Community Action_
ENCA is a newly formed Charity Limited by Guarantee to provide a legal structure for the management of Eagle's Nest Centre and other charity community projects in Arnold and the surrounding area.
## _The King’s Village Ghana_
We continue to financially contribute toward The King’s Village in Ghana, enabling the advancement of education and inclusion of their communities. The support is directed through the UK Charity ‘The King's Village Ghana,' charity number 1182366, which then oversees and transfers funds to the Ghanaian NGO. ## _Assemblies of God_
The Assemblies of God in Great Britain is the largest Pentecostal
Denomination and serves a membership of some six hundred churches nationwide. Eagle’s Nest Church has been in affiliation with the denomination since 2000. Each member church donates 3% of their annual income to support the administration and wider work of the denomination.

## _NG Church Network, Nottingham_
The church minister, John Fahy, continues to hold an active role in the wider NG Church Network. We contribute monthly to a fund that supports integrated projects across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
## _Evangelical Alliance_
## Eagle’s Nest Church has been fully affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance since 2000.
## _73[rd] Trust_
Eagle’s Nest Church supports the 73[rd] Trust which exists to engage the unchurched through relevant communication of the Gospel. It provides resources for churches as it seeks to reach out and make a difference in this nation and to act as a support base for Mark Ritchie, that will enable him to pioneer numerous and diverse channels of the Gospel to today's generation.
## _Arnold Foodbank_
The Arnold Foodbank was established under the guidance of The Trussell Trust. We are one of a number of local charities that supports the Arnold Foodbank. During 2013 the Foodbank received 1200 vouchers which equated to over 2500 people, 25000 meals provided, almost 20 tonnes of food supplied!
## _Hope into Action_
Hope into Action provides homes for the most vulnerable in society in partnership with local churches.

## **Independent Examiners Report on the Accounts Eagles Nest Church Arnold (Reg No 1082849) for the year ended 31 December 2021**
## **Report to the Trustees/Members**
I report to the charity trustees on my examination for the year ended 31 December 2021 which are set out below
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Act and that an independent examination is needed.
- It is my responsibility to:
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
- to follow the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act, and
- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention
## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement**
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below
## **Independent examiner's statement**
In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or
- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
