ABERGORKI COMMUNITY HALL LTD TRUSTEES. REPORT (INCLUDING DIRECTORS. REPORT) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2024 The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 August 2024. The accounts have been prepared in arLordance with the accounting policies set out In note 1 to ttre accounts and comply with the charity's Igoveming document], the Companies Act 2006 and 'Accounting and Reporting by Charitie8: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) {effective 1 January 2015). ObJ6ctlves and actlvltles The charity's objects are to promote general charitable purposes for the benefit of the ¢ommunlty of Treorchy and the surrounding area, and in particular to provide, maintain 8nd equip buildings for use by the comrrxjnlty for the purposes of education and recreation. The trustees have paid due regard to guidance Issued by the Charlty Commission In deciding what activities the charity should undertake. The company's policy is to consult and dlscuss wlth employees, through unions, staff councils and at meetlngs, matters likely to affect employee5, interests. Infomation of matters of concern to employees Is given through information bulletins and reports which seek to achieve a common awarene8s on the part of all employees of the financial and economic factors affecting the group's performance. There is no empSoyee share scheme at present, but the dlrectors are consldering the introduction such scheme as a means of further encouraging the involvement of employees in the company's performance. Applications for employment by disabled person8 are always fully considered, bearing in mind the aplitudes of the applicant concerned. In the event of members of staff becoming disabled, every effort is made to ensure that their employment within the company's continues and that the appropriate training is arranged. It is the policy of the company that the training, career development and promotlon of dlsabled persons should, a8 far as possible, be identical to that of other employees. Achlevements and perfomiance Flnanclal rovlew It is the policy of the charity that unrestrlcted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to be88n three and six month's expenditure. The Irustees considers that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charily's current activities while consideralion is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year. The trustees has assessed the major risks to which the charlty is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. Structure, govemanc• and management The charity is a company limited by guarantee. The trustees, who are also the directors for the purpose of company law, and who seNed during the year were: Mr K Richards Mr K Sklnner Mr S Jones None of the trustees has any beneficial interest in the company. All of the trustees are members of the company and guarantee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.

The company's current policy conceming the payment of trade creditors is to.. settle the ternis of payment with suppliers when agreeing the tems of each transaction: ensure that suppliers are made aware of the tem18 of payment by indusion of the relevant terms in contracts- and pay in accordance wlth the company's contractual and other legal obligations. Respectlv• respon8lbllltle¥ of trustees and examlner The trustees, who are also the directors of Abergorki Community Hall Ltd for the purposes of company law, are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144{2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to.. (i) examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; {il) to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5){b) of the 2011 Act., and (iii) to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. The registered office IS 18-18 Bute Street, Treorchy, RCT, CF42 6DB. 1.1 Accountlng conventlon These accounts have been prepared In accordance wlth FRS 102 'The Flnancial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland. {"FRS 102.), 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities. the Statement of Recommended Practice for charities applying FRS 102, the Companies Act 2006 and UK Generally Accepled Accounting Practice as it applies from 1 January 2015. The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. The accounts have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulatlons 2008 only to the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement of Recommended Practlce for charities applying FRS 102 rather than the version of the Statement of Recommended Practice whlch Is referred to In the Regulation8 but whlch has slnce been withdrawn, The accounts are prepared In sterling, whlch Is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statemenls are rounded to the nearest £. The accounts have been prepared on the historical cost convention, modified to Include the revalu81ion of Ireehold properties and to include investment properties and certain financial instruments at fair value. The pnncipal accounting policies adopted are set out below. 1.2 Golng concern At the time of approving the accounts, the trustees has a reasonable expectatlon that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees, continue to adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the accounts. 1.3 Charltable funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives unless the funds have been designated for other purposes. Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors as lo how they may be used. The purposes and use8 of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the accounts. Endowment funds are subject to specific condltions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the charity. 1.4 Incomlng resources Income is recognised when the charlty 13 legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured rellably, and it is probable that income will be received. Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charfty has been notified of the donalion. unless perfomiance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation. Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been notified of an impending distrtbution, the amount is known, and receipt 13 expected.
