WESTWOOD AND COLDHURST WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL REPORT 2024/2025

Executive Summary 2024/2025

The past year has been one of resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment for WCWA. In 2024/2025, we continued to stand alongside women and young girls in our community during some of the most challenging times in recent memory. The cost-of-living crisis has deepened, pushing hundreds of families below the poverty line and creating unprecedented demand for support services.

Our response has been both immediate and holistic. From tackling food and fuel poverty to providing warm hubs during the harsh winter months, the WCWA team and volunteers have worked tirelessly to ensure families not only survive but feel supported and valued. These initiatives have become lifelines for many, offering dignity and hope when it is needed most.

The economic pressures have also highlighted the importance of opportunity. As more individuals seek pathways into employment, WCWA has seen a surge in volunteer engagement. This is a powerful reminder that charities like ours are not just service providers—they are catalysts for change, creating spaces where people can contribute, grow, and overcome barriers.

Despite the challenges, WCWA is looking ahead with optimism and ambition. We are investing in a stronger future, expanding our programmes, and deepening our impact to ensure that women and girls have the tools, confidence, and support to thrive.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our funders, the dedication of our partners and colleagues. Your belief in our mission enables us to deliver essential services and create meaningful change. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and collaboration.

Together, we are building a community where every woman and girl has the opportunity to flourish—no matter the circumstances.

Thank you,

Rohema Khan
