Activities and Achievements How our aclivi(ies deliveT public benefit RIC'S activities deliver public benefit. The charty undertakes out a wde range of activi(ies in fU￿lIment of ils charitable aims. The activities briefly mentioned below demonslrale how the aclwilies Conducted benefit Community Centre at Woodford Avenue: Regular adivities such as the Madrasah. elders project, week Halaqahs, and youth and women's programmes have been regularly held al the centre. We also conduct self defence classes, an Elderly Social Gathering, along wi(h a Youth Football Club every Sunday al Clavhall Park. Prayers: The Mosque is open throughout the year, parti¢ularfy in relation lo facilitating the daily prayers. This nomially attracts over 330 people to daily prayers and over 1500 people lo Friday prayer services. Eld In the Park: Eid congregation for Eid ul Filr & Eid-ul-Adha w8s, like other years, held in Valentine Park, IIFord. An eslimaled more than15, 000 people gathered there lo celebrate both Eids, marking the end of Ramandan (Eid ul Filrl & 10 days of Dhul Hiiiah IEid ul Adhsl. This is the largèst open air Eid ¢ongregalion in the city of London The celebration of this joyous and auspi¢ious occasion brought the communities in Redbridge and surrounding areas together to enjoy Eid. It gave the congregation and the visitors of other faiths and backgrounds a wonderful opportunity lo greet and share their happiness with one another. The event included stalls and exhibtiions on Islami¢ Culture that was open lo all. People from other boroughs attended this great ¢ongregralion. School Visits to RIC as part of RE: RIC has been fa¢iif(ating school visits lo our centre as part of schools RE subject. We have had 90 children plus many teachers attend a session where the Imaam of RIC lead a assemble for the school at RIC, we laid out an exhibition with posters and booklets explaining the subject of 1s18m. This has been very well received by schools and we now do this on a regular basis. Redbridgo Youth Forum: The RYF continue to work with the local young people utilising the space afforded to them by RIC. They regularly run various in-doors and out-door extra-curricular activities for children and young people which meet their cultural, social and recreation81 needs. The activities organised by the RYF enable the young people to engage with others, develop positive friendships, and by partaking in the different aclwilies, develop their self-esleems, confidence and independence. The RYF'S football sessions run on a weèkly basis, every Monday. Following every foolb811 session, the￿ is 8 small Naseehah (Advice) on a topic addressing issues that young people encounter in their day to day lives. Night Program for Youth: The Night Programme for Youth is continued lo be run for young people between the ages of 8 20. This is Usual￿ organised during the end of term school holidays. The Progrdm consists of Ice Breakers, Team Building games, dodge ball, IslaM￿C Talks, night prayers IT8hajjudl and food. The objective of the program is to facilitate for young people lo engage with positive activities that they can relate within a masjid conlexi. Fajr Knlghts for Youth.. This programme has been running for approxiamlely 3 years and has become an increasingly popular gvenl attracting youth within Redbrdige and surrounding areas. Young people from the age of 6 laccompanied by parents) upwards particpale in congregational prayer al Fajr, enjoy communal breakfast, and then participate in group activities. The youth are given the opportunity lo attend the masjid and particpale in range of gaming acliwlies. The games include table tennis, table football, pool, and computer games. Evenlng Madrasah for Boys and Girls: The Evening Madrasah now has a modem swlabus which tackles and addresses the issues faced by the Muslims in the wesl. Currently there are 12 classes running each week between the cenlres which lolals lo 180 children being taught the Quran and islamic Studies. We have additionally started a hifz programme for students wanting lo memrozie the entire Quran. Saturday IslamlG School: Saturday Islamic School continues lo grow from strength lo strength. The SIS in ils 14th year has developed a sound reputation for supplementary Islami¢ education. Both students and their parents are happy with the way the lesson is planned and designed. Teachers are aware of the needs lo structure and deliver lessons in a caring and slimulaling environment, which helps them lo be molivaled and develop a posf(ive attitude lo learning and enable their intellectual, moral and social development. Currently we have 10 classes with 95 students and now cater for children 11+ in age Dawah Sub-Gornmltee- The Dawah sub-commillee continues to work hard and promote and propagate Islam lo the local Muslim and non-muslim communities in Redbridge. Various conferences in Bangla and English have been organised. Educational l Humanitarian work.. The RIC continues lo raise money for local, national and international educational eslablishmenls, orphanages and other charitable organisalions in different countries, victims of the natural disasters in Bangladesh. Pakistan, Uganda, Palestine and victims of wars. such as Syria & Afganislan Tatsirul Qur'an.. The Tafsirul Qurfan programme is specifieslly run for the a￿u￿S al both the Gants Hill and Redbridge Cenlres weekly. 11 helps the congregation to reflect on their daily inleraclion with their fellow human beings, their relationship with their Creator and purpose of life in this world and hereafter. Explanation of the verses from the Holy Quran is very enlightening, moving and thought provoking. The aim of the session is to enable people to be decent human beings who should take responsibility for their action and ernbrace Deace. harmonv and riahleousness. Hadith Studies- General Hacsith are regularly read after Salah al both the Centres, and the Musallis benefit immensely from this education21 programme, The aim of this brief provision is to help participants to reflect. refine and refom) their life in accordance with the teachings of oijr beloved prophet Ipbuh). Halaqah Islamic Circlos.. This is a weekly family event. This study circle lakes place every Saturday al 7..30pm at Redbridge Masjid. Different scholars give talks about particular topics. Many Musallis find this very informative and enlightening about the way issues are discussed and questions answered. Women's Circle: The women Circle al Ganls Hill Centre continues lo make excellent progress. This is well coordinated, structured educational programme for sisters. This has helped many sisters lo improve their understanding and knowledge of religious practices and islamic cuf(ure. They organise Qur'an session on Sundays from 1 Oam -12pm. The two women's sessions at Redbridge Masjid take pla￿ on a Tuesday between 10am to 12pm and on a Sunday between 11..30am lo 12'.30pm. The women's session have also lead on the girls only youth programmes during school breaks and raised money for Macmillan ￿nCer trust with a cake and bake sale. The average attendance for each of the circles is over 25 sisters. RIC Good Food.. RIC runs a weekly foodbank supporting several families in need of basic food and household i(ems. The project is supported by in house volunteers. Iftar: At both the Cenlres the Committee members and the Musallis helped lo provide Iftar for the Taraaweeh.. The board has determined that the appropriate level of free reserves which are not invested should be equivalent lo 6 months. expenditure, which equate5 to approximately £88k.
