G.S.L’s Report
Another eventful year for all of our sections – a huge thank you to our leadership teams for keeping the programs varied and listening to what our young people would like to do. We had a large contingent
participating in the Mud Run at Ferny Crofts, Cubs demonstrated their skating skills at a roller disco, Scouts took on the challenges of Pen y Fan and laser tag, and Beavers celebrated the Coronation with a tea party – and not forgetting to mention Paultons Park, Stags Head, night navigation and weekend
expeditions. Camping was definitely back on the agenda with trips to Ferny Crofts and Wales – the Welsh week testing how waterproof our canvas is – and two Explorers going further afield to test their Scouting skills and
knowledge outside of the UK. We are extremely proud of all of the groups achievements and grateful for the support of all of our volunteers.
Our Explorer Leader has passed the baton to Simon Morgan, so we would like to thank Mark for all his hard work and enthusiasm keeping the section running over the past couple of years.
With Simon moving up and several assistants moving on, my annual request for more help goes out – if you would like to help the team (and it’s a great team to be part of) create amazing experiences and memories for the young people – we’d love to hear from you.
