Annual Report 2023 Twenty Five Years of The Outlook Trust
2025 has been a successful year for the Outlook Trust. We have provided our six activity weekends.This year we celebrate our 25th Anniversary
The weekends have been well attended with some over subscribed. We also provided our longer sailing residential in the summer. We have certainly made good use of our bus this year with no issues. It has been ferrying children from Yorkshire to the Lakes for the six weekends picking passengers up en route.and travelling down to Southampton. Our final weekend was too stormy for sailing so the group really enjoyed a visit to Cathedral Caves.
We benefitted from the use of Ghyll Head Outdoor Activity Centre. They also provided zip wires, climbing walls, caving adventures, accommodation and supported our water activities
The bespoke Safeguarding training designed specifically to meet the needs of The Outlook Trust was successfully delivered, to all staff involved in supporting participating children. This was provided by our two Safeguarding Officers on

the first two weekends of the season. We are constantly reviewing, refining and updating our policies and procedures in collaboration with the RYA Safeguarding team. Trustees have met regularly to discuss ongoing matters and monitor effective use of our resources.
We are reaching new children and families. The Facebook Page has worked well giving up to date information. More parents are becoming directly involved. A big thanks to Evelina and all the parents who have supported us with donations this year .Thank you for your support in fund raising. We always need your support. We sought the services of a marketing organisation this year, They provided some great promotions and presentations of our work and activities on Facebook and Instagram.
The Summer sailing this year was a great success. All participants were actively engaged. The skipper Mark did an excellent job in involving all the youngsters all the time in sailing the boat. They all came back with a good understanding of what is required to sail a large yacht at sea. We picked up the boat at Hamble Point. It was quite an adventure. The weather was mixed and we arrived back at Hamble Point for our final night soaked and bedraggled but ready to

sail another day. However the sun shone in Yarmouth and we all had a chance to visit the beach.
A massive thank you to Jonny for his help. He has been a real boon this year helping launch and recover our boats and driving our youngsters down to the Hamble for the Sailing Week. He has provided a great deal of support to our charity for many years now.
Having two Drascombe has continued to benefit us. This now allows all participating children to sail at the same time in our two boats. They have their challenges though in keeping them maintained, operational and staffed. Jack who worked with Jonny on the Lake has volunteered replacing Mary who has helped the year previously. to help sail Out For A Duck.
A big thank you to all our volunteers and trustees for their support in 2025 If we manage to fund raise successfully it will be plain sailing through the forthcoming year.
We will be proposing six weekends this year.If you can think of any sporting events fun runs etc where you might attract sponsorship please consider us. If you know of any charitable trusts or companies offering support please let us know or if you feel confident enough apply on our behalf. I am happy to provide any information and support you require
Thank you to the cyclists who support our lakeside rides .Without these wonderful people giving their time freely at weekends we could not operate.
Things are looking promising for 2026 and we are frantically improving, repairing replacing and preparing boats for next season. Our first event this year is being organised by Brian one our trustees. He is taking a group skiing to France early March. We hope it is a great success as other skiing events he has organised in the past.Thank you Brian.
Our newly replaced Humber Safety RIB has proved to be far more reliable.

A special thank you to John and Julie the staff at Ghyll Head Outdoor Activity Centre. They have made us very welcome as well as letting us store our boats and trailers. We will be using the centre!s accommodation and services in the forthcoming year.
This winter two of our volunteers successfully completed the RYA Safety Boat Course Qualification Congratulations to the two Johns.
Every penny we raise goes to supporting our special participants. We rely upon our volunteers to make the weekends work. A big thank to Jackie Sarah Gerard, John, Victoria, Jackie and of course
John fellow trustee for his help this year.
We welcome Sarah onto our board of trustees. Sarah a sailing instructor, has been helping us for a number of years now and is a valued member of our team.
We also wish to thank Children in Need ,Sovereign Heath Care charity Foundation, Booths Supermarket Kirkby Lonsdale.

Independent Examiner's report on the accounts of The Outlook Trust for the period ended 31 December 2025.
This is a non-statutory Independent Examination.
Respective responsibilities of the Management Committee and the Examiner.
As the Management Committee you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. It is my responsibility to state whether matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's report
An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the organisation and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanation from you as Committee members concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent Examiner's Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter came to my attention:
1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
to keep appropriate accounting records; and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records
have not been met; or
2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
